The place you camped sounds lovely but the idea of camping with an 8 month old scares me a bit. Let alone a 2 year old as well! The Micralite sounds like it was a really good buy then.
Suzie, I'm glad you're pushchair's arrived so you can stop complaining about the postman. Grin Have you used it yet?

Honeydragon · 24/05/2011 23:13

I bought a Frog by accident Grin, even worse 5 minutes after I sniped it, a post appeared on here asking if anyone was selling a cheap Bugaboo as they had just been outbid on a bargain Frog by £1.00. It was me. I said sorry Blush

suzie38 · 25/05/2011 06:05

Using it later today.

saoirse86 · 25/05/2011 10:35

Hehe honeydragon!

Suzie and anyone else with loads of pushchairs how do you decide which one to use? I mean obviously there are certain ones that are more for certain occasions, but if you have a few options how do you choose? Is it like shoes or handbags where you have a couple of favourites but you like a change sometimes? Grin

Guildfordnanny · 25/05/2011 14:49

Hmm it depends on the purpose really. I am mainly pushing two children so it depends if I need to shop and if so is it food shopping where I need basket space, and of it's a certain supermarket only narrow pushchairs go through the door. If we are in the car then I like one which takes an infant carrier if we are nipping in and out of places. For a day trip I would take a side by side. For local walking I need a narrow pushchair for the narrow pavements. Weather may influence too ie large hood for sun or light shower, fitted raincovers if I leave the house and it's raining or a fling over raincover if it's threatening a shower. The baby has a BJCM to sleep in and then each child has a single to save changing straps! So lots of reasons!

suzie38 · 25/05/2011 17:16

Before i sold my Frog, that was my rain buggy as DD isn't fond of raincovers so i could rear face her, pull hood up half or full depending on how fast it was raining...Could generally drape a small raincover over the bumper bar...Last few times it's threatened rain when she's with DH, i've sent him out with the Citisport as the raincover is easy to fit...Some seem a bit of a faff for DH to do, though he did manage the Vigour+ last week, good job as it poured down...Donkey's not my rain buggy because of the basket...Used the Flip It on a day out when i knew there was a possibility of needing to leave it in a buggy park, be very foolish to leave the Donkey unattended!!! Last summer DH used the Nuna for nipping to the park, not great for shopping as a tiny basket...Got a Vigour 3 for future snow use as it's suppose to be ok though thinking maybe i should get a Mutsy instead, after reading a post on here last night...Today i used my new vintage Mothercare to test it out plus i was needing to leave it unattended at the library...The library is in a very middle class area but i'm not sure i would feel happy leaving the Donkey...On Monday when i do a supermarket shop i have the Citisport as it's tiny and fits on the parcel shelf as boot is always full of shopping...My dad also loves it and hates it if you leave him with a different buggy...Donkey is used for days out and shopping because of the storage basket...Brio Go if i feel like pushing a touch of luxury with amazing suspension, though i really need to sell it...Vigour+ whenever i feel like it, just a shame the basket is so low at the back...Now not sure what i would use the Fusio for if i got one???

suzie38 · 25/05/2011 17:18

PS...Sometimes i give DD a choice of buggy.

Guildfordnanny · 25/05/2011 20:55

I let DD choose as well if poss. She loves being underneath the upper seats on tandems! I think it's her 'den'. I think I am a serious addict - I am dragging the children on a 3 hour round trip to see the Strawberry and Peach Special Edition tomorrow! I don't even - I was going to say want but I think need is a better word - need one! The Peach Blossom is simply fab at the minute and I never want it to go!

suzie38 · 25/05/2011 21:21

I'd never drag DD that far to look at a buggy...I dread long journeys with her even though she's generally very good...Plus i always get lost going somewhere new and get very panicky...My dream would be to spend a whole day at Kiddicare or similar to be able to play uninterupted with all the buggies...Mind you i did have a play in a fairly nearby shop with the Uppababy Vista and bought it and regretted it!!! But the shop sells a lovely dolls house i want to buy DD for her 3rd birthday so at least i acheived something...Plus staff didn't bother me when i played for a bit...My dream job would be working in a pram shop Grin

Guildfordnanny · 25/05/2011 22:03

I think she will be happy because she gets to have a rare / treat DVD and singing. She loves playing 'pushchairs' lol! Kiddicare sounds heaven. Why did you regret the UppaBaby Vista. I thought it was good? The dolls house sounds lovely. Lol re working in a pramshop. What brand would you like to sell the most?

suzie38 · 25/05/2011 22:27

Even though i tried it in the shop, in reality the handle was too high...I'm 5'2" and like a really low handle ie Bee Plus 1 or 2 notches up...And there's next to no suspension with extremely rock hard tyres...I've discovered i prefer air tyres...As to a favorite brand to sell, i've had all Bugaboos except the Gecko and Bee but i'm not sure i'd sell them...I like quirky models though not exactly had many myself.

FriggFRIGG · 25/05/2011 22:29

screw working in a pram shop,i want to design the fecking things....so many ideas,so little money

im very Envy of your excursion guild
i wish DD liked tandems,i love them, she hates them Sad
if they let me in kiddicare...id NEVER leave Grin

suzie38 · 25/05/2011 22:40

That'd be a great idea for a meet up...Buggy addicts en masse in a pram shop!!!

FriggFRIGG · 25/05/2011 22:45

we'd scare the shite out of the staff Grin

OP posts:
suzie38 · 25/05/2011 22:49

Hee hee...Which is why they need a buggy addict running the show!!! When i checked the Vista out, i knew more about it, than the young girl showing me.

Guildfordnanny · 25/05/2011 23:03

LOL...the iCandy lady started to demo the Peach Blossom to me and then stepped back and said I probably knew more about it than she did Hmm :)

FriggFRIGG · 25/05/2011 23:16

that happend to me too,
i went to john lewis,to look a t the BJCS when it first came out and the guy hadnt a clue what he was showing me...
i ended up doing a demo whilst 2 couples and the shop assistants watched Blush its all guilds fault Grin

Guildfordnanny · 25/05/2011 23:27

LOL...believe me my OH is better at working things out than I am. I had a bad time with an Easywalker wheel this morning because it got locked in non swivel and I couldn't suss it out, and he's much better at folding pushchairs than I am too. Gawsh I love the Baby Jogger fold so much. You don't appreciate it until you meet some hard to fold pushchairs. There is one I have that you literally have to start closing with your nose because your hands are busy holding a button down on both sides!

FriggFRIGG · 25/05/2011 23:34

blimey! that sounds awful! what is it? please dont say its an MB!!
you gotta love the babyjogger fold! why cant everyone make it that easy?!!

i saw a bjcs in a bakery yesterday and i nearly stroked it....there was a baby in it though,so i stopped myself Grin
if i ever see a donkey though,i dont think id be able to contain myself, much less a duet

OP posts:
Guildfordnanny · 26/05/2011 00:06

No it wasn't a MB - don't worry!! But I am gutted that MB aren't doing the one fingered fold on the Duets in the first batches. I loved it. Running around the front to undo the catches is a bit of a pain TBH. But its a small price to pay for everything else that works so well...and MB are apparently working on it but it will be too late for me :(
LOL I LOVE my BJCS - I think it will be the last pushchair out of here. Even more so today when I found out that the chassis, wheels etc all have a life time guarantee on them which is fab! It's only the fabrics which don't. I got an Elite today and I love all the pockets on the back and the fab parent console - they are everywhere! I soooo want one on all my pushchairs!
As for a Donkey...I had cravings until my friend went to buy one this week and realised her two year old didn't fit in the seat :'(

Guildfordnanny · 26/05/2011 12:12

Just a note to say my Xtreet arrives today (amazing delivery time from Spain) and I am utterly in love. It is incredibly light (5kgs I believe), great sized seat, lots of hood room for a tall toddler, pushes fab, raincover and insect net included. Brilliant! I could seriously sell these!

Guildfordnanny · 26/05/2011 12:12

Excuse typos lol

aswellasyou · 26/05/2011 13:05

The XStreet does look nice. The basket looks massive in the pictures. I would be worried about it feeling flimsy at 5kg Shock but it's obviously not if you like it! Wink

Guildfordnanny · 26/05/2011 13:14

Hubby didn't believe it was a pushchair because it was so light. It seems very sturdy even with my two year old climbing all over it. Hubby is dubious about the small wheels but they are bigger than a lot of stroller ones. I have been chatting to someone who has had one for a year and who loves hers. That is what made me get one.
