The Xtreet is even nicer in real life. Ot looks really narrow but the seat measurements are really great. I was chatting to someone last night who has had one over a year and prefers it to a Bee. I have been debating how to get one past OH today given we have just got the Babyzen! I like small neat pushchairs!

suzie38 · 22/05/2011 15:03

I've always been open about getting a new one...He just rolls his eyes these days!!! So he hasn't vetoed my wish for a Fusio...Though i would sell 1 or 2 of my collection to buy one...I love my linen Vigour 4+ but it is very large and i do have a Donkey so maybe i should just keep my Vigour 3 in case i need it for snow use...I'm self employed so really need to be able to get to work still...I'm not sure i'd feel comfortable relying on the Donkey for use on a bus and no way i could use it in 2 wheel mode, I need something to hang on to and keep me upright!!! I love my Brio Go but it's massive for use on a bus and i could get a reasonable amount if i do sell it.

MonkeysPunk · 22/05/2011 16:18

Here's a question for the "experts" here - what makes a good vintage rear facing pushchair for long walks with a 3y old? I like taller handles if possible too...I'm only thinking "vintage" as in "could be found cheap on ebay" - so if there's something modern and inexpensive do say.
It's got to be durable though - as the Bugaboo Cameleon clearly was not "up to it" - seat stitching undoing itself and basket badly torn and frayed after only 4 months use! (yes the bugaboo cam was NOT cheap at all either!)... Sad
Maybe I won't mind lack of rear facing with new Maclarens (due to arrive this week I hope) though - as visibility to child is excellent - although still not the same as actually facing each other. Confused
I am wondering if there's a nice wayfarer out there - like new with all hub caps still on - or even one on a sprung type chassis.

suzie38 · 22/05/2011 16:29

I had a lovely Wayfarer that was almost brand new but i swapped it for a Pop bad mistake I've also got a Maclaren Super Dreamer that i bought brand new from a charity shop...Selling that soon because i bought the Donkey...Only thing i've found with vintage is that handles are on the low side...Just look at a photograph on the Silver Cross website for the Kensington...The tall models make it look like a dolls pram...Just bought a vintage Mothercare that's very similar to the Super Dreamer, it's got an adjustable handle...Supposedly attempted delivery on Friday but DH heard nothing so hoping it hasn't gone AWOL as no card left...Think i'll be picking it up on Tuesday so will find handle height then...Mind you now i want a Fusio, not sure how long it will be staying!!!

5inthebed · 22/05/2011 19:52

Xstreet looks great, love the huge basket.

Do you have any pics of the vintage mothercare?

5inthebed · 22/05/2011 21:02

I can remember my aunt having the same pram for my cousin. That was when Mothercare was he place to buy prams.

MonkeysPunk · 22/05/2011 21:25

The graciously fusion looks like the maxi cosi loola. Folds the same way and works the same way. Hope it doesn't have the same aversion to reversing!

MonkeysPunk · 22/05/2011 21:28

Lol @ my spell check graco not graciously!

suzie38 · 22/05/2011 21:46

Yes my Mila wouldn't reverse either!!! Will go back to Toys r' Us for a play and check it out...Though won't buy from there as much more expensive than other places.

Honeydragon · 22/05/2011 22:25

The Loola is a swear work in the Honeydragon household...at least the Bastard Streety had it's own quirky charms. I wanted to love a Loola soo much, but it was toooo heavy so I went with a Pliko instead.

I still have a lovely old checked Pliko in the shed to sell.

Guildfordnanny · 23/05/2011 11:51

You lot are terrible to be around. I have been lusting after an Xtreet for a couple of months but think I have now actually bought one :S I daren't confess this one to hubby :S But it's gorgeous! I am just waiting to see if they ship to the UK. The system let me pay for it so fingers crossed!

aswellasyou · 23/05/2011 22:07

I agree Guildford, my addiction is being made worse by being on this thread. I've been looking at Bugaboo Frogs because they're often going cheap but they look so similar to the Gecko and Cameleon. There must be a big difference with the Cameleon seen as they sell for so much more. What's that all about? I read somewhere about one of them having a handle that switches from front to back but I don't remember which one that is. I'm also not sure I care since the seat turns around and I don't go on rough terrain unless you count the ridges on the pavement at crossings. Does anyone think the Frog is a good buy?

Honeydragon · 23/05/2011 22:40

The Frog handle flips over allowing you to put the big wheels at the front for rough terrain and snow.

Guildfordnanny · 24/05/2011 01:38

I know one of the differences between the Chameleon and the Gecko is the bumper bar - the Chameleon has it but the Gecko doesn't. I remember I bought the Chameleon really for the Bumper bar. The Chameleon switches over and I think the Gecko did too. There is another difference - oh yes the bag is bigger on the Chameleon. So I dont know if its worth looking at those things with regards to the Frog. But I remember at the time thinking it was a lot of money to pay for a bumper bar and a bigger bag!

suzie38 · 24/05/2011 07:19

The Cameleon has adjustable suspension and handle...I prefer the way the Frog pushes, it's a lot easier than the Cameleon...But for me the Frog handle is a tad high so i bought a Cameleon...Then there are 2 versions of the Cameleon 1st and 2nd generation...2nd generation has solid foam tyres and the handle adjustment is different...I bought some foam tyres for my Cameleon but they also work on a Frog...But in the end i prefer air tyres, all pushchairs glide better with them in my opinion, obviously only hassle is possible punctures...Seat on Cameleon is 2 inches longer but width is identical...Custom hoods for cameleons work on Frogs, you just pull the slight extra fabric over the back of the seat...The handle on all those models flip over...As for basket size i've no idea but there's not much difference and you can switch baskets between the Frog and Cameleon...That's one great thing about Bugaboos, people sell individual items on eBay so you can customise as you like...Bumper bars switch between both models ie i sold my Frog with the Cameleons bumper bar because there were a few minor problems with the Frog so i put the unchewed bumper bar off the Cameleon onto the Frog to get a better price.

suzie38 · 24/05/2011 08:33

My Mothercare Olympus has finally arrived a week after i bought it even though it was suppose to be express delivery!!! 2 failed attempted deliveries where the postman never even knocked on the door...Grrr The postman went off muttering under his breath...Stupid idiot...Anyway figured it all out, hardest problem was getting it out of the box ie a whole reel of tape used...Robyn seems ok with it...Liking the old fashioned all plastic hood...Only issue would be if she naps in it on a hot day, though highly unlikely as no hood to shade unlike my Super Dreamer, though that's going to be eBayed shortly...Did see a Super Dreamer all in one hood for sale last week...It has an adjustable hood which i haven't figured out plus the all important bumper bar...Just needs a bit of WD40 on the back wheels...It looks barely used plus has the carrycot which i guess will be used as storage now...Think i'd better sell my Brio Go especially if i get the Fusio.

saoirse86 · 24/05/2011 10:44

Oh I want a frog now too! Confused aswell can I play with yours if you get one?

aswellasyou · 24/05/2011 10:58

I can't believe the price difference between the Frog and Cameleon if the difference isn't that great. I'm still looking at the them. I really shouldn't because of the lack of space but they're really quite cheap.
Saoirse you keep your hands off my pushchair. Buy your own!

saoirse86 · 24/05/2011 11:49
Sad
Honeydragon · 24/05/2011 12:20

I didn't like the basket on the Frog at all, which also put me off the Cam.

FriggFRIGG · 24/05/2011 14:02

bloody hell you lot,i just sold a frog, you could've had that!

anyhoooo, back from camping now thank god and eagerly awaiting my mountain buggyGrin i would've had it by now but bastard paypal insisted on paying with an e-cheque so ive been waiting for it to clear all week!!Angry

the micralite held up brilliantly camping, went over everything without trouble,(we were camping up a very steep rubble covered track,in a flower meadow!!)folded neatly for the boot, the seat was great for DD and DS,they both slept in it,raincover's a guddun, went in and out of tiny village shops, and i love the look of it! it's fantastic. mummyistheword · 24/05/2011 14:20

Hi all, dd2 snoozing and dd1 playing princesses....About to make chilli con carne dd1 due to assist.....arrrrrrgh! But first a little pushchair perusal. ....the micralite sounds fab friggfrigg......I loved my gecko but not the bucket type seat after a while, dd1 always did huge stretches if she ever slept very long in it, looked comfy enough though for what we used it for, just got a bug snug on eBay but think will be too bright, the rainbow ones.?, may just put it on my cheapie chicco airplane buggy......still pondering a cheap even second hand replacement for said buggy.

aswellasyou · 24/05/2011 23:03

Frigg, it was your ad that made me think about the Frog to be honest. Grin I was shocked at how cheap you were selling it, then looked it up and really liked the look of it too. I really, really don't need it or I would have bought yours at the time but I keep thinking about it and looking at them on eBay now so I feel like if i find one going cheap then I might accidentally buy one. Basically, you were fueling my obsession!
