9 and 18 months.
MAXIMUM age difference.

That's what I thought...at most...I thought 15 months at lowest for the eldest but 18 realistically. Baby is older than six months but under a year. I said 8-9 months too.

aswellasyou · 16/06/2011 10:41

Those babies aren't related surely! The youngest looks about 9 months and the oldest about 14 months. Does that imply that it's designed for children of similar weights rather than the usual toddler baby combination?Hmm

aswellasyou · 16/06/2011 10:42

Oh I see you've already had this conversation!GrinBlush

Guildfordnanny · 16/06/2011 11:17

Well this was kind of my argument when I mentioned it the other day. It's not terribly real life. The Duo photos with what looks like a 2-3 year old in plus baby are more real life (and es I do know someone who had a six month gap so it does happen before I get stories of everyone's 9 month gaps :o ) I wsh they had put a photo of a two year old in the seat because someone a few days ago reckoned the Duet would only last until the age of two which is rubbish! It has a combined seat load of 36kgs which means you can put a 30kgs toddler on one side and a 6kgs baby on the other (I checked). The seat unit is based on the Swift and I am sure the Duet is suggested for up to six year olds. It is the frame width that is smaller rather than length or compromises being made to the seats. For example when you see it, the Duet seats overlap at the bottom rather than popper onto their own frame. The central bar is thin and narrow. The frame is slimmer than the Duo. If anyone has seen the Swift and Urban Jungle side by side they will know how the frames differ but yet the seat units are great sizes for an older toddler.

MonkeysPunk · 16/06/2011 17:46

Did I forget to say today how much we stilllll love our Swift! Grin There's been a LOT of rain today - so the storm cover has been on - and it's fab - one of the best rain-covers around - so definitely worth the money. I like that the front zips back and can be rolled up if you go into say a shop - or if the rain is easing but you don't want to remove the whole cover as you just know it's going to rain again!
I am still loving the compactness of this buggy - we definately zip in and out of crowded spaces faster - and it's sometimes easier in the woods also as we can follow the narrow tracks between the brambles without snagging on them!

SaltNSauce · 16/06/2011 18:29

Opinions please. Have asked on another thread. Am swithering between a second hand swift [3 weeks old] with raincover and sun cover £300.
Or new with raincover £340
??

Guildfordnanny · 16/06/2011 19:38

New....every time when the cost os so close. I want a swift too...boo Hoo! It's free listings this weekend and I am having a pushchair clear out!

FriggFRIGG · 16/06/2011 19:45

ooooh what you selling guild...
im seliing ten tons of kids'baby clothes, then i might get around to sorting through my clothes, maternity etc, maybe the cameras, and take pictures of the MBduo in readyness for the contours arrival!

OP posts:
MonkeysPunk · 16/06/2011 19:59

New saltnsauce because you get the gusrantee then. Mb guarantee is non transferable in the UK.

Guildfordnanny · 16/06/2011 21:13

Probably just the Quinny Zapp plus 101 accessories...well that's maybe an over exaggeration...on EBay but I think the Verve will hopefully be going back to P&Ts for checking coz mine is a complete Pain to put the second seat on and start to fold - it was nothing like the one we played with yesterday. I think someone is going to take one of the other pushchairs to review for me. I need to hide a few singles from hubby. I have a couple of rde on trains with track to sell and just lots of baby bits and pieces. My sister is coming over to declutter me because our houses are polar opposites. I have too much stuff and her house is totally minimalist with two children! I sold another pushchair today but it's taken me around two hours to package up!!! I need to make money to pay for the Duet, +One and new BJCM single 4 wheel (crimson or black?? Which colour??) The Mutsy chassis should arrive tomorrow...I can't wait to have a play! BTW hubby gave the Contours the once over and pronounced it a very decent little pushchair - I am nt sure he meant little though! He likes the extras like the parent console and holding straps. My baby slept and sat in it happily for most of the afternoon.

FriggFRIGG · 16/06/2011 21:28

my contours is in England already!!!! Grin
its in the east midlands depot....

im soooo excited!
i cannot believe how fast its got across the pond Grin

the mutsy looks good from what ive seen, the front seat is VERY upright and on the small side though...

i need someone to come and de-clutter me,theres just sooo much stuff to sell/chuck,and i never get around to it,too blardy knackered!

OP posts:
SaltNSauce · 16/06/2011 21:32

Thanks.

Guildfordnanny · 16/06/2011 21:42

That has arrived very fast! My Contours was supposedly on 48 hour delivery but took aggesss! But it wont arrive that fast lol! I hope you like it....I think the Contours is going to be useful for me to shop with. Thanks re the Mutsy..both my children like being upright. The seat is here...I just havent had chance to open it yet. I have just decided to get rid of the baby gym and Boppy...hubby wants rid of the Jumperoo...every time we put DS in it, he falls asleep in seconds...it's a bit of a waste of space but i would love him to use it....

FriggFRIGG · 16/06/2011 22:04

gosh,DS would bloody love a jumperoo! he's the bouncyest baby ive ever seen!Grin
know idea where id put one though!!

i expect the contours will still take a day or two, perhaps monday-tuesday,as things tend to slow down once in the uk Hmm

let me know how you get on pushing the mutsy...its supposed to take some getting used too! it was the 1st double i looked at,i was convinced it was the one i wanted, until someone told me the seat unit didint collapse, and for some reason that put me off,and ive just never got around to buying one!

still it might be a good compact option for me,for days i want a double, but not the big contours....im thinking that, the +one or oh damn,i forget, there was another though....Confused

suzie where did you order your bumbleride flyer? i saw one on amazon, but theyre all sold out now!

OP posts:
Guildfordnanny · 16/06/2011 23:01

I wish I had read more about the Mutsy Duo first because it sounds a bit of a piglet. But someone was saying you never see photos with children in the seats so we will cure that one! The fold looks terrible! Is there no way to remove the Duo seat with seats attached I wonder? If I can't then I do not see it lasting long here as we don't have room to leave it up. I really fancy a Donkey after being told the neat way to fold it ie put it into single mode and then kick it into two wheel mode and store it flat! Genius!

FriggFRIGG · 16/06/2011 23:15

Yes i fancy a donkey too...but i keep telling myself that 74cms is the same width as the MBduo and thats a PITA in our hall way.
i think my little foray into the world of SBS's is over,im a tandem girl really!

yes the mutsy: it seems the seat unit doesnt fold at all,and i dont think the frames fold is that small either....but we'll see,id love to see some decent photos of it anyway!Smile

im madly trying to find a soother/teether/paci that DS will take ATM,he's teething and nothing is good enough!! im thinking some sort of teething cloth,or a soft toy maybe,as he seems to like sucking/knawing on sausage shaped things...i want one of these my Dsis's DD had one and loves it! but i cant find anyone in the uk that has them grrrrAngry

OP posts:
suzie38 · 16/06/2011 23:19

I bought my Flyer via eBay...The seller is recommended by Bumbleride on Facebook...Mind you it's not been without issue though...It won't be arriving as fast as your Contour Sad as got email a week later (yesterday) to say the Ruby won't be available to ship until mid July so did i want to change my order...So now having Seagrass instead as that's the one DD liked best...It's supposed to be shipped straight away but hasn't been dispatched yet according to eBay.

Guildfordnanny · 17/06/2011 01:20

A girl after my own heart FriggFRIGG - I try to like Doubles but I am also a tandem fan too. I really like the +One but I don't think it will fit in my car - it will have to be my walking pushchair. I just wish someone would make the perfect tandem!

MonkeysPunk · 17/06/2011 07:39

In the usa and Germany the mutations duo seat is also used on the lite chassis. It does fit. Don't think this combo went through UK safety testing though, or perhaps it didn't pass.
Personally I would use on that chassis though as its a lighter chassis with smaller footprint. From experience the lite chassis is v strong and sturdy.

MonkeysPunk · 17/06/2011 07:41

Maybe try to get an air tyre version though. I wasn't keen on the solid tyres as there's no suspension in the frame.
I liked the look of the single spoke version best.

MonkeysPunk · 17/06/2011 07:42

Lol at stupid stupid spell check.
Mutsy, not mutations!

FriggFRIGG · 17/06/2011 09:31

Grin @ mutations!!

my contours ins ON ITS WAY!!!
its with the delivery driver already!!Shock

AND ive found a blabla stockist so im Grin ....

shame we have to wait in though, its toddler group today!

OP posts:
saoirse86 · 17/06/2011 10:20

Ok, I haven't been on for a while so haven't caught up and you might have seen this already but look!

Guildfordnanny · 17/06/2011 13:08

They are being auctioned for charity - I think it's UNICEF. The Mima Facebook page has photos of some beautiful ones but the grass and flowers is my favourite.
Yay re the Contours being on the way! That's been much faster than ordering in the UK! Glad you found a Blabla stockist too. I had a look last night and failed.
Thanks the mutinous Mutsy chassis. I saw the Lite one on Baby Gizmo and was a bit confused. The chassis arrived this morning. Hubby tried to involve himself with the second seat and we ended up falling out because I read instructions and was taking my time and he just wanted to get the seat on. So at present the Mutsy is in pieces awaiting some time later! It certainly isn't easy....and am not sure I am impressed!
