I can't have a BJCM because the handles too high...I like low handles.

mummyistheword · 20/05/2011 23:20

Well hello ladies!! Assuming no blokes here. Ha ha! Sorry if there are though....really? Can't imagine it......pushchairs are just instead of handbags surely? Still Harbour a delicious handbag collection but would trample small children ....even my own to save my skip hop super double duo deluxe gazillion pockets life organizer saver. I have long held the theory that women collect shoes or bags, or both but with a leaning to one or the other.....generalising I know but usually amongst my widest circle of girlfriends I have asked/know. But.....baby arrives.....pushchair number one arrives.....then two then three etc....I have learned thru massive variety buggies tried that you really could rather do with different buggies for different occasions, just like diff shoes and bags for nights out, picnics, beach, work, shopping, hols etc etc just need someone to design a wardrobe that stores them all so I can change my mind on a whim, my house only has space for two at once really in the hall, big hall but not many cupboards. Hence that's why we swap buggies a lot if you can't squirrel them away through your house, always looking for the perfect one.......it doesn't exist......does it??? Actuallly I think it does, you get one that suits perfectly for. While then needs change and so does the pram. Now then........I think my best ever buggy was the double nipper, but feel the mb duet would now trump it totally if I needed a double again. Also bumble ride? Kolcraft? Marvellous buggies I've never heard of before, reading thread with interest, keep googling images new to me buggies, might be flying for hols soon, maybe I should make a little purchase!!!

saoirse86 · 21/05/2011 10:46

If I didn't have a child I'd have loads of room for pushchairs! Grin Hmm

mummy a holiday is definitely a good excuse for a new pushchair!

I like the look of that noa, the handles would be fine as I'm only 5'3" and I like low handles, but DD is big already at 8 months so may be too heavy for it by the time I convinced DP we need it. Wink

icooksocks · 21/05/2011 12:33

If you fancy a red Noa saoirse86 let me know Wink

icooksocks · 21/05/2011 12:34

And depends how big. My ds2 is 15.4kg - about the same weght as your average 3 year old (he's 17 months) so he's off the scale heavy Shock

Honeydragon · 21/05/2011 15:19

Suzie I like my handles low too, I've had a play with a friends bjcm and whilst lovely I was pushing from my boobs iyswim? Wouldn't suit me at all. That's why I like the bee at the lowest setting.

aswellasyou · 21/05/2011 20:51

Saoirse, get in line! I wanted the Noa first. And my child isn't a heffalump!Grin And no DP to convince-I knew there were perks to being a single parent. I'm sneekily looking at second hand Bugaboo Frogs though.

P.S. Saoirse 5'3"? Really? I think you'll find you're 5'2".

aswellasyou · 21/05/2011 20:52

Honey, your boobs pushing the BJCM made me laugh!

suzie38 · 21/05/2011 21:01

I thought i was 5'3" but turns out i'm 5'2"...Mind you my mum is only 4'6"!!! So she definetly needs a buggy with a low handle.

Honeydragon · 21/05/2011 21:07

I'm 5.2", I tried a kurvi once too, and if it had had a handle bar I could've actually used it as a boob rest Grin, I don't understand why adjustable handles aren't a standard feature on all models Confused

mummyistheword · 21/05/2011 21:20

Pmsl at the boobs pushing buggies comments! I had a bjcm, I am certainly 5.4 and the handle was still too high for me, made my wrists ache, nippers low handles so suited me, think new nipper has adjustable handle though which is fab upgrade......am still loving my p&t, been so busy lately not had time to start pondering a buggy change, half thinking about flirting with a cheapie for fun for the hols though.....buggy tart!

icooksocks · 21/05/2011 21:30

Well the Noa is still here Grin. It does have to go, maybe I should go for a bjcm-Ihad the double last year and loved it. Handle height good for me. I just want something small folding as it wont be my everyday pushchair.

MB went on its first off road trip to the carboot this morning-its fab.

5inthebed · 21/05/2011 21:38

I loved my BJCM, was great to push and loved the hood.

What is a Noa when it is at home?

aswellasyou · 21/05/2011 21:57

I just looked up the Noa in red. Is the frame red as well? It looks like it is but I wouldn't expect it to be. I'm sure you'll want to sell it for more than I'd want to pay for another stroller anyway because I really am a skinflint.

icooksocks · 21/05/2011 22:04

Yup it has a red frame-quite funky really.

I'm looking at a nice round figure for it. Its starts with one and ends in hundred!!
Its RRP is £150 {although imo that might be a little optmistic on maxi cosis part}

suzie38 · 21/05/2011 22:15

I had a Maxi Cosi Mila (oops didn't add onto my pushchair list) and some of those come with colored frames...I looked at the Noa...I'll stick with my Nuna i think...So far i quickly sold on any Maxi Cosi pushchair i've had.

Honeydragon · 21/05/2011 22:45

I'm a bit Hmm with Maxi Cosi, they look good, sound good on paper, but never get it quite right. Hated the Loola. Quite liked the Bastard Streety, it was handy, just using the footplate rather than handle bars took getting used too.

I actually sold the Bastard Streety for more than I paid for it Confused.

I also hate that Maxi Cosi sell "packages2 that come with a load of cheap shite you don't want are need....bloody Dorel Wink

MonkeysPunk · 22/05/2011 10:13

WARNING - Buggy Addict to the extreme pondering......

Has a baby jogger performance - I used to think the props dept must've got an old one off eBay and "dressed it", but looking at this clip - the harness - is new style - do you think they did this to a NEW babyjogger performance?

I always feel bad when I see a pram being abused as a prop for a TV show (like the old coach style prams particularly - seen some being absolutely trashed in the name of entertainment!

Honeydragon - I too like the look of the Dorel stuff - nearly bought a Maxi Cosi speedi last week - it was £119 on amazon and also kiddicare for a short while - but I had a stern word with myself and cancelled the order (I do not need another 3 wheeler - my BJ Summit is perfect - where space is not an issue - and there was nothing to be gained by adding a speedi to my fleet)! Besides - after I ordered the delivery date changed from a few days to FOUR WEEKs!

I since decided that what I really needed was something small and more convenient - almost got a purple BJcity mini - but opted for the Maclaren XLR instead - but then a few days later this SAS code to get £20 per £100 came out - so I also now ordered a triumph too! I intend to keep 3 buggies total - the Huge 3 wheeler - a luxury mac and the cheap triumph (for the car/ grandparents / bus outings).

saoirse86 · 22/05/2011 10:30

Monkey you don't need to explain yourself to us! Wink And PLEASE tell me that's a real pushchair, I want one. Can you imagine what an idiot you'd look walking down the high street with that! Grin Although I have a feeling that in my local high street people would be stopping me asking where they could buy it. Blush

icooksocks I do love the look of the noa but have a zapp already and there's no way DP would agree to it. Sad

MonkeysPunk · 22/05/2011 11:33

I think the gonch's buggy is definately a baby jogger performance, but its been embellished quite a bit. Think plasticote gold spray and additional bits and pieces. I'm sure one could fashion a replica over the course of a weekend.Grin
I remember first seeing this aired, not long after buying a snunkie liner and chest pads for my city elite in ponyskin leopard fabric, and blushing to think folk would imagine I was copying the gonch! Lol

Guildfordnanny · 22/05/2011 11:55

Have you seen the Emotion Xtreet It's a fab lightweight, tiny fold, stylish, tallish handled, large seated pushchair with a basket. The frame is very thin but it is sturdy. If I had a spare £230 I would buy one - definitely!

icooksocks · 22/05/2011 12:10

Guildfordnanny thanks for that-how the hell am I going to persuade my DH I need one of them???
saoirse86 maybe you need to resort to sexual favours Shock (does not speak from experience-absolutely not ever Wink)

MonkeysPunk · 22/05/2011 12:24

The emotion xstreet looks lovely.
Still don't know what the noa is. Must investigate.
Anyone going to the London babyshow in October? I'm thinking of going. Might be my last chance with Ds turning three this year.(sigh)

Honeydragon · 22/05/2011 12:26

I like that xstreet

suzie38 · 22/05/2011 12:29

I'm sticking with my Nuna as it's very similar to that xstreet.
