LOL.....I am here!
Well there is a triple set of announcements about to be made. This is apparently Press Launch week - so keep your eyes open!! Apparently there will be announcements about the +One, the Duet and new sets of connectors for the Freerider (called Connector 2 and 3 - I guess set 1 is for the MB and either set 2 or 3 will be for P&T's). Apparently I will have more information tomorrow :)))))) And of course on Wednesday I am at MB anyway :)))))))))))

FriggFRIGG · 13/06/2011 23:50

AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THAT IS TOOO EXCITING!!!!
will they be release dates do you think??!
I MUST KNOW!!

OP posts:
Guildfordnanny · 14/06/2011 00:08

I dont know...but I see no reason to doubt the end of July date that we have been given. A retailer today said end of July / beginning of August...but somewhere around there ie no more delays.

I think we will gain access to "official" information about each product but I know no more. I have to wait until tomorrow. Although I have a copy of the first "official" Duet photo with children in it (very badly photoshopped which is a shame because the +One and Freerider photography is very well done) . My only other comment is that the parents were 'busy' to have had two children so close together - there can be no more than 8 months at most between the children in the pushchair - or maybe the dad is a 'modern' father with half siblings, or maybe its a bad assumption on my part that he is the dad, and maybe he is a male nanny, or a SAH Dad with a nephew or niece on board??? Oh, yes I do have another comment - the kicker board in the photo is still black - I was told it would be metal like the upper part of the kicker board.....

ToysRLuv · 14/06/2011 03:34

DS woke me up, and now I can't sleep. Have been browsing the Internet for pushchair stuff (surprise, surprise!). Has anyone heard what the Petite Star Zia+ is like? I know the Zia is supposed to be like the "crappy" Zapp (have read stories about it tipping in use, etc.), but what about the Zia+? Seems like a copy of the original, apart from the the adjustable handles, which sound good (max height 105 cm!).

FriggFRIGG · 14/06/2011 09:35

guild tell me i dont need a BJCS and a Duet.
please.
tell me the kolcraft would be better for me now DD is older.

FriggFRIGG · 14/06/2011 10:37

thanks,you're right.i mustn't Blush Grin

the Contours however.....

OP posts:
Guildfordnanny · 14/06/2011 10:45

The Select for me has nearly had it's day because it is heavy to push. I am keeping it because it's the only double that fits under my car roof for summer, but it is just soooo compact when folded. the Peach is small but not as tidy and flat in my boot. To be fair I haven't tried to fit the Peach under the roof ....but I doubt they will because the chassis is wider folded...but I need to definitely try! I wish the +One was smaller. I was gutted to reread and see that the 109cms? - I think it is without looking it up - stand fold is with the wheels off ie I hoped it wasn't and that it would be smaller with wheels off. It's not like it could go diagonally in the car like an umbrella fold because it is wide and flat too. I have such a dilemma at the minute....real dilemmas. I actually have no ideas...except to make my own :D. OK...for my perfect tandem I need the beautiful Chassis of the Mima Kobi with it's superb pushability, handling and looks (but a bit smaller fold) although the Peach does come close to this for push ability; the huge basket of the City Select with netting to the top like the B-Dual and access zips, hand brake and huge hoods of the City Select; the easy recline of the B-Dual/Mima Kobi; the easy release buttons of the Donkey; the handlebar of the Kobi; the flat fold, thin, light seats with choice of positions and slim folded chassis of the City Select; with the actual Peach seat units (flattened to be straight like the CS) with their good looks, seat liners etc and aluminium styling; and the Kobi swing away bumper bars, and fold action - or even better a one handed fold! Oh and an easy throw over rain cover like the B-Dual/Kobi, To sum it up, the City Select redesigned with the great looks of the Peach and fab chassis / handling like the Kobi would go a long way to being my perfect tandem!

Guildfordnanny · 14/06/2011 10:45

Oh and an easier one piece fold like the Verve!

Guildfordnanny · 14/06/2011 10:51

Just to add you just don't get the same huge differences with side by sides....most of the top end ones like the Elite, Twinner Twist Duo, Easywalker, Duo etc are great. I hope Baby Jogger make it so you can put two car seats and two carrycots on the Elite in future.

Guildfordnanny · 14/06/2011 12:12

The Contours is here......just coming through the door!

FriggFRIGG · 14/06/2011 12:14

Ok ok...very first impressions...read carefully! First of all it is DIY pushchair! Not hard but took a while and a screwdriver and me putting things on wrong several times over! I was glad of the coloured photo on the box. So, I think it's a great pushchair. Very similar to the City Select. Some things are better and some worse. My biggest issue is that everything feels slack ie there is movement...but it doesn't feel at all like it would come apart and it is sturdy. It's just not a solid lump of a frame. It will be to do with the very easy concertina fold. It's not a negative...just a little odd! The seats recline in different ways to the CS. They partially both recline facing forwards but I can get both to fully recline back to back. I didn't try any more ways. Back to back is how I would use it. There isn't much foot room facing each other but my baby doesn't need it andthe children aren't as close by a long way as the CS so it seems better. The seats are wide. My two year old has room to grow but the hoods on this version (they do on the brown one I believe) don't slide up the frame, nor can you remove them but we aren't there by several inches. When totally back the hoods flop down the back which is fine. It took a bit to get the seats sitting right ie in some positions one seat needs to drop in before the other ie back to back - it's the hoods rather than the frame that is the issue. The basket is ginormous! But it says it only holds 10lbs which desnt sound much?? And I am loathe to test it because the front is only held on by two small metal pins. I am sure a needle and thread and Velcro could allow the basket to hold more though! The quality isn't bad to be honest. It's not the best but not the worst either. I was worried by a fixed handle but it's the perfect height for me at 5ft 6ins. It's got a lovely foam handle. Two removable foam covered bumper bars. Two child handles on the side to hold onto. Easy to push. Easy to lift up a kerb. Went straight across my thick gravel (not all pushchairs do). Fold is large but not horrendous, it stands up well with one seat on. Greatvparent console. Actually even ignoring the price, it's a good pushchair. I suspect if you buy the brown version you get something even better but I am happy with this. I have photos but you will have to wait until Thurs or Fri for them. I leave for P&T / MB in three to four hours and am not packed, got stuff to do but am here feeding the baby for another half an hour if you have questions. But based on a quick push etc it's feels good. Whether it falls apart in a few weeks, I don't know!!! But it seems worth a buy!

Guildfordnanny · 14/06/2011 14:52

Oh and I tried the Maxi Cosi cabriofix on the frame. I pushed it down hard and tightened the strap as tight as I could go and it felt fine.

FriggFRIGG · 14/06/2011 15:02

OOOOH!! it sound great!!
well for the price anyway...i am a tiny bit taller than you at 5'8,do you reckon the handles will be okay?
how was it getting around corners?
does it feel like the longest pushchair in the world??
thanks!Grin

OP posts:
Guildfordnanny · 14/06/2011 15:22

It is long but not monstrous. I havert been more than outside the house as yet....it doesn't feel much different to the CS - a bit longer. Lullaboo Baby are kindly loaning me a Zoom to be able to do a CS v's Zoom v's Contours comparison. I like highish handles so these feel fine for me. They may be on the low side for you?? It depends...i don't have time to measure it now...soz...arrghh mad here and I want to read my e mail for MB news.....

FriggFRIGG · 14/06/2011 15:28

do you use cupholders a lot. Do you miss them when you don't have them? Is a cupholder worth £100?
