It sounds like you have all had a fun day. What a Grr about the Swift straps. My problem with that is that I would have to designate the pushchair to one child instead of them both easily being able to interchange. I hope the Duet straps aren't as faffy but I bet they are! I took the Twinner Twist out today and got lots of admiring looks. It does look cool and trendy. It pushed easily across grass etc. But amazingly it is almost the same size as the Elite! Hubby was quite shocked! I need to read my stats pages again later! My nephews and nieces popped by and wanted to sit in the Elite and Twinner Twist Duo so I have photos of an 10 and 11 year old (plus younger children) sat in both! The Elite was easy to push even with the oldest in! A fun experiment!

Can you guys help me with a quick query, I've got a Quinny Buzz three wheeler but am wavering over my love for it. I love the fact that it's a rear facer and the seat is really comfy.

So what is like a Quinny but not a quinny if you see what I mean.

BTW I already have a city mini, which after the Quinny was like pushing a cloud.

MonkeysPunk · 03/06/2011 20:33

All the mb straps are the same. However as someone said, there are D rings and you can put your reins on to make life easier.
I do think the swift is very neat. I also think it'll be pretty good off road. Maybe ill even sell the summit.
Not sure where the "newer mb aren't as good as old mb" rumour started, but I'm thinking its unfounded. I'm a fuss pot on quality, and the swift impresses me.

suzie38 · 03/06/2011 20:38

So well worth ordering then???

MonkeysPunk · 03/06/2011 21:59

I think so for me because it combines the best features of the maclaren (small footprint with swivel wheels, manouverable), with the off road capability of the breeze, while having a nicer shopping basket , and I like the recline, and the rain and sun covers on the breeze better. So it makes a really practical everyday buggy that's not too big. It doesn't take up all the hallway.
It was well worth it to me.

MonkeysPunk · 03/06/2011 22:01

Sorry, meant the rain and sun covers of the Swift better. Breeze doesn't have sun or rain cover!

FriggFRIGG · 03/06/2011 22:38

I AM DESPARING................the MB is great,in a lot of ways, but some things are driving me up the wall already!

the hood, because tis ONE hood covering BOTH DC,DD keeps pushing it back, and leaving DS exposed to the sun/wind/light,whitch wakes him up/makes him cry Sad
its also a very tight squeeze into our hall (and it only fits in our hall) with lots of wriggling and shifting.

im fed up.
i dont want to have to piss around selling the buggy and a load of other stuff(not actually sure what i have worth £300 anyway) and waiting around for the duet.but if im fed up after 3 DAYS! this clearly isnt the buggy for me....im getting buggy fatigue Sad

OP posts:
Guildfordnanny · 03/06/2011 23:06

Wine Sorry to read this. You did just send me off to check the Duet has separate hoods, and it's does. Its almost July.....

FriggFRIGG · 03/06/2011 23:13

i know...but i dont have the money for it Guild Sad

unless i sell pretty much everything i own Wink
ive got loads of stuff to sell, but its such a huge hassle,DP never helps
and im just too damn tired and fed up.Sad

(having a shite day)

OP posts:
Guildfordnanny · 03/06/2011 23:15

Hugs. Tomorrow is a new day.

suzie38 · 04/06/2011 08:13

Br because i was dithering, i've missed out on the 10% off offer, so i'll probably get from that place that was selling for £340...I'm not in a hurry to get it plus if i get my ae into gear i might be able to get a few pushchairs cleaned, listed and sold before it arrives...MonkeysPunk does the wheel still feel stiff??? Also GN where can you buy those Twister ones from, just out of interest.

saoirse86 · 04/06/2011 09:54

Oh frigg isn't it terrible how a pushchair can make or break your day! Sad

Maybe you need a new house with a non-stupid door and a bigger hall.

Hopefully there won't be too much rain in the near future so could you buy some kind of sunshade for arlo so skye pushing the cover off doesn't upset him so much?

I feel like you should be getting the duet but I can't advise on the money issue. Sell a child? Oh wait, then you wouldn't need a double. I just don't know!

Guildfordnanny · 04/06/2011 09:54

It's free listings weekend on EBay if that helps? I am waiting for a list of stockists. If you are happy to buy on spec ie over the phone then I can tell you a few to try, but there are only 11 retailers so far including Jan Stewart in Glasgow and the Golden Cot in Bath.

suzie38 · 04/06/2011 10:11

I only list small items on eBay auction wise...Buggies are always Buy It Now so i know i can get what i want...I've got so many clothes listed i got charged to relist last weekend so seeing if they go back to free listing today because i'd obviously used up my 100 total...If i get charged again i might start again but with less items to tide me over for the month, free of charge...I find small things sell better when i've got buggies listed...I need to sell £300 worth so i can buy an Oyster using Paypal then it doesn't feel like i'm spending money Wink

suzie38 · 04/06/2011 10:14

Gn Out of interest what is the price for the Twisters or there abouts???

Guildfordnanny · 04/06/2011 10:56

Lol I buy pushchairs from Paypal 'earnings' so it doesn't feel like I am spending money and OH can't argue ;) I put a reserve on a pushchair auction but usually do BIN or best offer. I don't know about the single Twisters but the double was £599. Give these people a call and let me know what they say ;) www.cyrilwebber.com/fp.php?id=966

suzie38 · 04/06/2011 16:08

I emailed as i hate calling people...The RRP is £449 which is a lot more than i want to pay so think i'll stick with a Swift from Practical Pushchairs...Still like the Elite but i think it's too big for me as storage is an issue.

Guildfordnanny · 04/06/2011 20:31

The double Elite pretty really flat if you take the back wheels off. I just find the Baby Joggers so practicaland the fold is bliss. Thanks re the single Twister price. Its useful to know. But the MB is gorgeous. One day..... For those that have a MB how do you find the fold? I was a bit sad when I heard the fab one handed fold on the Duet was being replaced with the traditional fold as it looked a bit fiddly to find?

Guildfordnanny · 04/06/2011 20:40

Sorry I should have said, that I imagine the single Elite isn't too huge folded.

MonkeysPunk · 04/06/2011 21:31

Front wheel of swift still a bit stiff on the swivel. I've turned it upside down, and applied wd40 and I think its eased a tad. I'm thinking of prising off the plastic cap and seeing if there's a nut to loosen off.
It's still been a pleasure to use. We did an 8 hour trip to a theme park today with it.
Ds was very comfortable in it. I noticed how good his posture was and how relaxed he was in it. We used the uv cover, it is lovely the way it zips to the hood and toggles beneath the footplate. Also the rain or uv covers fold neatley into their own pouches and can be stored on the buggy frame.
Also the basket is v v useful and easily accessible. Got 3 kids jumpers, 4 swimming kits, a walkie talkie, toddler shoes, 3 water bottles, my camera in bag, a small ball and sun cream in there!
I'm also loving the full recline which got Ds off to sleep for his 2 hr nap in no time!

suzie38 · 04/06/2011 21:38

Just been comparing the Elite, Swift and Joggster and it's definetely the Swift that's winning at the moment...Just a shame i faff and missed the Boots 10% off...Any idea how often that offer or similar comes around???

MonkeysPunk · 04/06/2011 21:45

I like the mb fold. It's quick and easy and the swift fits easily in our car boot without any dismantling.

MonkeysPunk · 04/06/2011 21:47

Don't know how often they do codes. But you can Google for them. X

FriggFRIGG · 04/06/2011 21:58

i have resolved to sell the MB,then sell stuff like mad for the rest of the money...
i love the MB on so many levels -the fold is fine BTW Guild - so i know i def want a MB!
but the fact that it is so wide (only for my house,no been a problem anywhere else,eg shops) thats its becoming a real pain, also the hood is driving me mental! they need a hood each!!!

i reckon the duet must be the holy grail of doubles Grin

OP posts:
Guildfordnanny · 04/06/2011 22:31

I need the Duet for the shops here. They have split doors and the clip to open the other side is about 8ft in the air which isn't great in a busy supermarket to get someone to undo. The Twinner Twist Duo may just fit though...in which case I would have to argue hard for a Duet with OH! I am working on him for a Swift and Freerider as DD is a scooter whizz but that seems like the beginning of the end of doubles :( and I am not ready for that yet! I can't justify it yet either! I haven't had chance to properly road test the Xtreet or Babyzen yet (OH likes the Babyzen though).
