Hello!!!

I do like me a good pushchair, can't afford to get all the ones I like mind you but I do like to gaze at them lovingly. I've had a maclaren techno, BCMJ and a Buzz to my name so far. I love my BCMJ.

Guildford How far oop narth are you?

FriggFRIGG · 27/05/2011 21:36

A friend of mine has a Brio Go and loves it. The fold is cool and it does seem good in lots of other ways too (hmm, maybe I should have gotten that instead of the darn BJ?). She initially bought a state of the art off white faux leather Emmaljunga pram, but hasn't used it as it's heavy and bulky. Another friend had a Brio Happy (again, quite bulky), but now uses the Inglesina Zippy for her toddler.

I am planning on using the BJ City Series in buses as well. Am I completely mad and unrealistic? I don't use a bus very often - maybe once a month. God, I really can't make myself love the Chicco or the Graco.. They are so rickety and annoying to push. Also have an irrational hate of Maclarens (they just seem a bit pricey for what they are, also they look so boring and the wheels are small).

ToysRLuv · 27/05/2011 21:56

This was my friend's Emmaljunga www.emmaljunga.com/english/Prams/Find_your_pram/Mondial_3_in_1-313.html

I'm not keen on the second ones frame shape...I did think about buying the first one but ended up buying an 80's Silver Cross pram...Pushed like a dream and my DD loved it once she could sit up as it gave a great panorama...There's one Brio model that's identical to the Britax B Dual or B Smart...Can't remember exact suspension type on the Brio.

aswellasyou · 27/05/2011 22:13

Maclarens are rubbish! That second Emmaljunga is quite like the Kolcraft Contours single 4 wheeler.
Frigg, well done! To be honest, I thought it was quite obvious.Grin One of my housemates in Liverpool called me that to help him remember my name and he'd call me it to wind me up.
Hello Tribble!

is it that one?

Oh, I really like both Go and Sing, although not so keen on the wheels on the Sing.

Whenever I see anyone with one of those old Silvercrosses the children always look so happy. But just seems a bit weird in this age and time not to be pinned down to a chair with a harness.. I now want to find my Britax's bumper bar, so can stop using the harness (I thought that extra strap cover thing was not to fasten to the bar, but to cover the leg strap in a very impractical way Blush ).

I kind of like this too, but not sure about the practicality of solid plate wheels.. or I might be overanalysing.

Ah, time for bed, I think..

Yes it's the Brio Sing...I bought an Uppababy Vista which is almost identical but with different baskets and the Vista doesn't have the extra strap...I think you can use the strap either way on the Vigour...I attach it to the bumper bar as i never strap DD in...With the strap there's far less chance of her slipping out, not that she tries.

suzie38 · 27/05/2011 22:31

It's ok, i cut and pasted!!!

ToysRLuv · 27/05/2011 22:33

Ok, I must find that bumper bar. I have a nasty feeling I left it in Finland. :( Oh well.

Bedtime now.. will dream about Brios, I think.

suzie38 · 27/05/2011 22:34

I got an email off eBay today to say a Vigour bumper bar has been listed...Say's it for 3/4.

ToysRLuv · 27/05/2011 22:36

Okay, will have a quick look. Thanks Suzie!

suzie38 · 27/05/2011 22:42

You're welcome...I've still got Vigour search saved.

Honeydragon · 27/05/2011 23:33

I've fallen in love with my Vigour all over again Blush....horrible weather yesterday so got it. Folded it and put it the hall on return with wheels off. I'd forgotten what a small footprint it has when folded properly.

I still fancy something smaller for the snow and ice this winter but can't find anything Sad

Tribbles - in Yorkshire :)
I am a little disappointed because the Mima Kobi lower seat only reclines...I HAVE to keep my fingers crossed that my baby is happy in the seat (he loved being in the carrycot even though he is ten months old). I know my daughter hated the reclined Peach seat, but I love the Kobi sooooooo much....its absolutely stunningly gorgeous - much better than any photo I had seen of it because part of it is the tactileness. The smooth shell shaped seats, the thickest seat and harness pads I have ever seen, the lovely shiny detailing on the arm of the chassis. Am a bit sad you can't put the beautiful changing box underneath when you have two seats on. It's a matter of a couple of cms too high! They need to make the basket a tad deeper!
Anyway I still love it....and I can't wait to get using it properly tomorrow :)

MonkeysPunk · 28/05/2011 04:15

In Devon now. Brought the MB Breeze in the end. A better choice than the Maclaren for where we are I think.
It's 4am and I'm listening to DH snore!

Why don't maclaren put wheels with Race Bearings in on their buggys? My new XLR wheels are squeaking already.
I still like how light and nippy it is though.

Guildfordnanny · 28/05/2011 08:28

I would love a MB Swift but I am saving that up for a year hence because OH wants to get DD a Freerider and I won't enlighten him that MB are developing new attachments for other pushchairs ;)
