Argghh silly phone posted that twice! Apologies!

Honeydragon · 28/05/2011 09:23

I wanted a mountain buggy for the scooter buggy board - despite no need for it Blush

ToysRLuv · 28/05/2011 10:51

MB Swift looks like it might be perfect for me. Sturdy enough, but still compact. How easy is it to fold? Never had a MB.

Have been thinking about getting a BJCM, but every time I see them, the wheels just looks so small and the handle is weird/not very comfy when I have tried it. I think my husband is going to go nuts if I suggest getting another pushchair. Really shouldn't have bid on the sodding BJ City Series.

saoirse86 · 28/05/2011 10:54

I love that MB riderbaord, do you think it would hold 9 stone 6 8 stone 12? Wink

frigg when I first joined MN I said to her there's this woman who's got the same due date as you and she's in birmingham too! Hmm

I don't really like any of those brios apart from the go. They're quite similar to the emmaljungas and the twin one's just like a lux.

Still love the look of that Kobi though. That would be one of my if-I-had-loads-of-money-a-huge-house-and-no-stupid-DP-I'd-have-one-of-those-pushchairs pushchairs! I'm amazed they haven't thought it through enough to have the changing box underneath with both seats. Sometimes I think companies do things like that so they can bring out an 'updated' version and you end up spending more on it. Like the zapp, it would be so easy to add a piece of fabric on either side of the seat and a strap round the back so it reclined just a little bit. But then they brought out the xtra. Hmm I know your game Quinny!!

saoirse86 · 28/05/2011 11:04

Grin Grin Grin According to the mima website they have the mimas in john lewis in solihull, fancy a trip out aswell?! Grin

ToysRLuv · 28/05/2011 11:20

To come back to the Vigour (I have a 2009 3+), my only complaints are that it is a bit of a pain to fold, somewhat bulky (not something to take on the bus - ever), I have managed to actually tip it on it's side with DS in it (he wasn't hurt, but a pushchair should really be more stable than that!), and the raincover is big and fills up the whole basket (but I never carry it around with me anymore since DS hates raincovers anyway). Otherwise fab. Also, my parents hate it and think it is too wide (the back wheels do catch in small shops sometimes). They like the traditional, 4 non swivel wheels, prams.

aswellasyou · 28/05/2011 11:26

I know love but I don't know if it's actually there. And they don't have it on the JL site. We could go on the way to Nannie's tomorrow. Grin I could also interrogate question them over only selling the most humoungasaurus rear facing seat on the market. And it's Isofix so it won't go in your stupid car!

By the way Saoirse, you are shocking for not recognising your own twin sister! Shock I'd forgotten about that. Now hurry up and come over. You're already 25 minutes late.

aswellasyou · 28/05/2011 13:36

I'm so excited! My eBay lots are currently at £215.88 and Saoirse just sold my our crappy pushchair for £46.07! What can I spend it on? A downpayment on a Mina Kobi maybe? Grin I know eBay and PayPal are going take loads of it but I still can't believe how much I'll have. It was mostly bras.

Honeydragon · 28/05/2011 14:20

Toys its definitely not a shopping pram Grin, I only use it when I need a tank.

Will some please tell me something else good for Winter?

Guildfordnanny · 28/05/2011 14:37

The Peach Blossom had several flaws in the current version and I pointed them out in a website, but iCandy were brilliant and listened to me and other feedback, and the new Peach Blossom I am currently long term testing, is a result of them listening and doing something about it. It sounds like the UK Mima distributors talk with the designer too so you never know. But I have taken the Mima Kobi out on it's maiden outing and I have to say it is beautiful. Beautiful to push - the Kobi feels heavy with both seats on (the very light) chassis, but it doesn't feel any different with a large amount of toddler / baby weight in the seats. I can push it one thumb and one fingered even on a cambered pavement. Extraordinary! Absolutely great up kerbs and off them again. Not great across my thick gravel drive but it's better than my Chameleon was, and I didn't have to drag it. But the Kobi isn't really an off road pushchair, is it? My baby didn't bother at being semi reclined. In fact he fell asleep in seconds and when he woke up he had a great view at either side to see out. In fact I don't think I have seen him look around as much! It's a nice high seating position ie no sides. A bigger shopping basket would have been great, or a bit deeper at the front. The Kobi really needs a cool squashable bag like the Chameleon for twin mode to push shpping into. I absolutely do not want to give this pushchair back (and it takes a lot to please me!) It is simply gorgeous, beautiful, a dream to push and I love it. Re the Quinny they NEED to attach the silly Zapp Xtra seat adaptors to the chassis. If you haven't seen them, they are small round adaptors which you swap for the car seat adaptors. But they are incredibly easy to misplace, lose, put down somewhere, or as ours did roll away. £30 to replace is too much when it's almost a third of the price of a new seat. I agree re them making the standard Zapp recline. Better as one piece than two - in fact I bought all new fabrics for my Xtra to convert to the standard Zapp once the baby reached six months but after six weeks waiting for the correct adaptors, I sold it as soon as the replacements arrived.

saoirse86 · 28/05/2011 18:17

Guildford I think I might start saving now with that fabulous review! Does it work out at about £1000 with the 2 seats? I'm having visions of having another baby in about 18 months maybe and having that pushchair. If I start saving now I might manage it! Wink

saoirse86 · 28/05/2011 18:36

I just found some pictures of the seat of the mima xari. Is it the same seat as the ones on the kobi? They're amazing look!

FriggFRIGG · 28/05/2011 18:38

saoirse86 · 28/05/2011 18:39

Oh bum! I just found out they were showing it at the baby show last week at the nec in solihull. I really wanted to go but stopped myself and now I wish I hadn't. Sad

Guildfordnanny · 28/05/2011 19:50

The Xari is a bit different to the Kobi (not sure exactly how but the basket is different). But the Kobi is like the Peach ie you can have it as a fabulous single with great high up setting position like a Stokke, and then I believe you can upgrade with the second seat later (I will check though). I will get more photos up later on Best Buggy. I am half way through my initial review...but it is baby feed and bed time...so it won't be much before 2am lol which seems to be my usual bedtime these days. I really really really really really really really really really don't want to give this pushchair back... It's got it's flaws but it's stunningly beautiful (and I didn't get it when I first saw it). It's very tactile - you want to stroke it and the seat pad and harness pads are just so thick. Even the harness buckle is beautifully shiny. I can live with the flaws for the great looks and for the incredibly easy push! And I think if you really love the Kobi you will put up with the flaws for such an amazing pushchair. But I think people will either love or hate it. Honestly I have done a complete about turn from being non plussed by the design and a critic and I love it....

Guildfordnanny · 28/05/2011 19:54

Yes, you can buy the Kobi as a single and upgrade later. All the info is here. Kobi

saoirse86 · 28/05/2011 19:57

Oh Guildford you're not helping! I want a play. I might even email John Lewis and ask them when they'll have it in. I know it says they stock it but they didn't have it in 2 weeks ago. Do you happen to know any details on when and where it is/will be available?

Guildfordnanny · 28/05/2011 20:09

I believe it is in stores now but I know the distributors, Cheeky Rascals, are currently on a tour of the UK training John Lewis staff up. They were in Manchester today and two stores yesterday and I am sure my contact said the Xari and Kobi was now on sale. I would imagine as soon as the staff have been trained it will go into the store? My baby fell asleep in the upper seat earlier, and I looked down on him cocooned in the egg shaped laid back seat and it was just the cutest sight ever. Stupidly I didn't take a photo but I didn't want to wake him. I think with the Kobi (and I assume the Xari too) you have to also look beyond the looks because the balance of the Kobi with two children in is perfect. My toddler started to sing and rock earlier and it didn't move. It is heavy without the children in (the seat units are weighty, but I have the twin version with two hidden carrycots so mine will be heavier) but light to push and that's a rare find in a tandem. The Peach is the nearest for push ability. I need to test the two directly back to back sometime this week, because I am comparing the Kobi with the Peach because it really is the nearest tandem to what is an extra ordinary pushchair that I feel stands alone and I shouldn't be comparing it with anything! But I believe they are a similar price ie the most expensive tandems on the market lol! Both equally great though.

suzie38 · 28/05/2011 21:44

It's not coming to Nottingham's John Lewis Sad though as nice as it looks i wouldn't be buying one...Think i'll go for the Strawberry if DD still uses buggies quite a bit, come September time.

Guildfordnanny · 28/05/2011 22:11

I would never have even looked at a Kobi before but I am so glad I got the opportunity to do so, and of nothing else dispel my own myths about small seat sizes and the lower seat, because both are fine! I am totally with you on the Strawberry too. Another gorgeous pushchair. I have been very lucky to have seen so many stunning top of the range pushchairs within a few days of each other. I need some fresh words - I think I am over using 'gorgeous' and 'stunning' and 'fantastic'! I need to dig the thesaurus out (metaphorically speaking because they are online!)

FriggFRIGG · 28/05/2011 22:56
