Me too...I need to find an "t'up north" pushchair addict who is happy to play pushchairs. But its nice to find you online :) I get worse every day. I promised myself that with all my experience of pushing other people's pushchairs that I would get it right first time. OH didn't understand about brand names etc and tried to get me to buy a cheap Hauck travel system. Eventually after realising only a Cabriofix car seat would fit in my car in a base, I managed to get a Chameleon ;) That was until No 2 was on the way...but even then I chose right...well kind of! I think Mr GN has now given up on me although I still have to work out ways to get nice shiny new pushchairs past him that I want to buy - usually having the money in my Paypal account from selling old baby things works :) He can't really argue with that!

The Mima Kobi should arrive today....knowing our couriers it will be around lunchtime....

icooksocks · 27/05/2011 10:33

You have a Mima Shock Envy
I have just bought a M&P Sola to go allongside my MB Blush

Guildfordnanny · 27/05/2011 10:46

No, I am borrowing a Kobi to try out. I am very excited, very intrigued and strangely a little nervous!

MonkeysPunk · 27/05/2011 10:49

Friggfrigg, I'm in Hampshire too. Doing weekend away packing for Devon today. Trying to decide maclaren triumph or BJsymmit. Child is almost 3 so can walk too.
Have planned trip to beach, maybe some country lanes to walk down too. Just not sure if taking 3 wheeler is overkill for just a weekend, or if triumph just won't be that useful in the countryside.

aswellasyou · 27/05/2011 10:55

Oh no Guildford! I couldn't give it back! Make a break for Mexico with it! Noone will find you there!
I'm thinking I should start a car seat addicts thread. Grin Saoirse and I have had about 8 between us so far I think.

aswellasyou · 27/05/2011 10:56

Why are there so many exclamation marks in my post?!!!!!!

Guildfordnanny · 27/05/2011 11:23

Lol re Mexico - it would be cheaper to buy my own Kobi! I have problems with car seats - hardly any will fit in my car, so it's really Hobsons choice. Only one infant carrier on a base would fit (three door car so base is essential) and only two car seats will fit that I have found to date. Daughter barely has any leg room so am pondering when to put the baby into the next car seat because then she will swap sides and have more space. He weighs enough but infant carriers are just so useful to clunk onto a pushchair chassis.

aswellasyou · 27/05/2011 11:51

Ok maybe just Wales then. Grin
The rule of thumb for moving a baby onto the next seat are that their head should be within an inch of the top of the seat (this will never happen with my Silver Cross Ventura Plus because the shoulder strap to top of seat length is huge) and they should be able to sit unaided for half an hour.
Our Mum and Dad both have three seaters too. We've often had both babies in the back of our Mum's car with one of us in the middle. It's such a pain! She's hoping to buy a new car when they're about 1 so it'll be much easier then. I've really struggled getting any seat to fit my Dad's old 3 door Nissan Micra but mostly because the seat belts are so short. I have to put all my weight on the seat belt to get it into the socket. Luckily we're all short vertically challenged so we can move the front seats all the way forward to make room in the back.

ToysRLuv · 27/05/2011 12:56

Hi there!

I'm wondering whether I can join in.. I am a wannabe addict (money and space allows only a slight hint of addiction) and always on the lookout for the perfect pushchair, but am yet to find it. I currently have a Britax Vigour 3+, which I thought was pretty good, but almost never see anyone else with one (hence thinking that it must be crappy after all). I also have a Chicco Liteway, which is ok (front wheels keep jamming though, so need to use furniture polish to keep them turning), a Graco Mirage with the same problem, and now have also bid on a Baby Jogger City Series. I'm hoping that will replace all the others, but have a nasty feeling that DS (nearly 20 months) is going to hate the seat as it seems very reclined even in the upright position.. Boo.. Should get rid either Chicco or Graco, but not sure which is better/worse. I like the tray and the folding mechanism in the Graco, so maybe will keep that. Also, probably won't get a decent price selling either, so will probably just give away (and regret buying as new.. how stupid!).

Guildfordnanny · 27/05/2011 13:00

Just a quick note to say first impressions of the Mima Kobi exceed all excpectations. I have to say the photos I had seen didn't do the Kobi any justice. The quality is outstanding on the chassis for example. It has taken me a while to remove the packaging (very carefully) and to read the short instruction book (looks well explained). But I don't think a pushchair has ever been so exciting to unwrap. The storage box / changing bag is gorgeous and I have another leather (?) changing bag (that I believe is an optional extra). I haven't had chance to look in yet. There are all sorts of exciting little bags with raincovers etc in. Best of all the upper weight limit is 17kgs for the top seat and 15kg for the lower seat, so I feel totally happy trying my well under weight limit 2.5 year old in the seat as a tester because in theory this pushchair is designed for a baby / toddler or two toddlers. I will find out later what the Kobi looks like built and what DD looks like in the seat. Fingers crossed!

aswellasyou · 27/05/2011 13:35

I'm excited for your Guildford! I've read that John Lewis are supposed to start selling them soon and my local is one of the stores that should have them in stock. I love pretending I'm rich and looking for a pushchair. I don't use the Chicco when I'm doing it though. They'd suss me out too quickly. Grin Has this Kobi got the black or silver chassis? Grey, silver or white body? What colour inserts? I'm guessing I'll see all this when you put the photos up but I'm impatient!
Hello Toys. I'm a wannabe addict too. Suzie likes her Vigours so you're not the only one! I have a LiteWay that I actually really like as a stroller but I've never had issues with the wheels on mine. And I bought it for £50 new so I'm not bothered about scuffing it. Not that it has any marks on it even though I'm rough with it.

Guildfordnanny · 27/05/2011 15:37

This Kobi has a silver chassis and is dark grey which is lovely, and with red comfort packs (my fav colour). It looks stunning. And my ten month old is happy as anything in the large carrycot and my 2.5 year old - tall - in age 3-4 clothing - looks very comfy! Her head is nearly touching the canopy but she is at the top of the age range, plus I would simply remove the canopy. I am very impressed..apart from rattling wheel guards which I need to check before we go out. I am finding the seats hard to remove and the pushchair is heavy (the chassis itself is one of the lightest tandem ones ever - probably lighter than most singles) but the carrycot fits inside the seat units so I have just asked if you can leave them out in two toddler mode. Fabulous pushchair so far....

aswellasyou · 27/05/2011 15:58

That's another one for the 'I'll buy it second hand next time' list then! I think I'll know what I want more then. Unfortunately, I can't afford what I want now!

Guildfordnanny · 27/05/2011 16:14

Think I am resigning myself to not making it put with it today. I want to finish photographing the Kobi in two carrycot mode, because then that is done and I can enjoy it in two seat mode for the rest of the week. I need to see how the car seat fits too.

ToysRLuv · 27/05/2011 16:36

The Kobi looks good, maybe a bit too "designery" for my taste, but I will never need a double (thank god!). If I had to get one I would probably go for a p&t or nipper 360, which are a bit more in my price range.

away: I kind of like the LiteWay too, but it's weird about the wheels. Also DS sort of slouches in it and looks uncomfortable. He definitely likes a rigid, upright seat, like on the Graco and the Vigour.. Oh crap, he is going to HATE the City Series.

suzie38 · 27/05/2011 17:17

ToysRLuv...I've got 3 Vigours at the moment...An original Vigour 3 for use if it snows...I bought it first but i'm a 4 wheeler at heart so i bought a Vigour 4+ in red, then came across it in Linen so i bought a 4+ in that color...Going to sell the red one as soon as i can clean it up, wasn't clean enough when i bought it and i just have to sell on immaculate buggies myself...Mind you got my eye on an iCandy Strawberry and Graco Fusio so i may have to sell my Vigours even though i absolutely love them...As nice to push as Bugaboos but the basket lets it down, too low at the back as i carry lots.

ToysRLuv · 27/05/2011 18:53

The Vigour is reasonably good in snow. Even works in Scandinavia where I'm from, even though they tend to favour big/heavy Emmaljungas and Brios there. The classic Emmaljunga, at least, is a nightmare to push and no swivel wheels makes it worse. I would never get one, but I fear I'm more of a 3 wheel lover, anyway (all 4 wheelers I have ever tried seem a bit unwieldy).

suzie38 · 27/05/2011 21:02

I've got a Brio Go...Was told it would work in snow but it's so big i'm not sure i'd feel comfortable taking it on buses...It'd be a nightmare if i needed to fold it as it's so bulky folded and extremely heavy...Neat how it folds up though and a dream to push...It just glides and bounces just like a proper Silver Cross pram...A family i babysat for had an Emmaljunga and i have to say i loved it, though it was a pushchair rather than a proper pram...Suspension very good.

FriggFRIGG · 27/05/2011 21:22

Oooohh,i really want that Kolcraft contours now....

OP posts:
aswellasyou · 27/05/2011 21:33

Me too Frigg! I wish I'd seen that cheap one on eBay. It's wasn't far from us, so we could have picked it up. The babies would love being in it looking at each other and not kicking each other! And they could look away from each other when they fall out.
