Hello and welcome.

I have to get organised with the holiday activities. Last year I had a list of things to do which really helped. I have bought a new jigsaw and some new playdough which is proving surprisingly engaging even with DD1.
Tomorrow I may haul them all down to the garden centre as a lot of my flowering plants have finished for the year. Lunch or snack in the cafe there, quick pop onto Sainsburys and walk home.
Double is tempting yes and I must keep walking. I reckon I got much fitter over those last few weeks of school with all those treks up and down. DD2 would love it but I do feel slightly about having a 5 nearly 6 year old in a pushchair.

Busy as ever nicola??

FlyMeToDunoon · 01/08/2010 17:46

I might get on later basl. I am 'forcing' DP to make the dinner and then later I plan to sort all of the washing, do the ironing and put it away. Sorting the washing is supposed to be his regular weekend chore but somehow it didn't get done last weekend while I was away [his mother was here with him though] and I have let it pile up in the hopes that he would realise. Some hope!

sal1309 · 01/08/2010 21:47

oh basl you deffo need a girly day/night out

I must admit i havent done it in years and we all really enjoyed it (wasnt planned). so much so we have decided to do it once every couple of months .

I bought myself a balero cardi to go with my dress for a wedding we are going to on saturday which im really looking forward to as its near nottingham so we are staying over and my parents are comming down and looking after the kids. I cant remember the last time me and dh had some time for just us.

nicolamumof3 · 01/08/2010 21:50

Its lovely to do that Sal enjoy it!

basl · 01/08/2010 21:57

Yeah i think i am starting to realize that it is me that is holding me back. My dh is very get up and go and loves fitness and also loves a good old catch up with mates. I really don't mind but i get all angry that i am not doing anything. It's my own fault and i just don't have the energy sometimes. Yes i do love a day out shopping and meal with friends or sister. Don't get me wrong i have spells where it happens alot and then nothing and today i just got real fed up with hearing the word MUM said constantly.

I do love to hear about people having had a great time so sal you deserve it and glad the sore ankle held up for your shopping trip
Nicola i am really wanting this weekend trip down to visit you all. I just need to plan it. I want to go to that park with the sand pit. x

sal1309 · 01/08/2010 22:12

aww basl i know how you feel, sometimes its hard to get the motivation to do anything. Its only recently ive got my get up and go back.

My leg is better now avoiding netball this week as had acyrlic nails put on for the wedding and dont want to knock one off before hand. And dont want to risk injury again as want to wear my heels

nicola just read you got a 360 nipper hope you like it my mate has just sold hers and it was lovely to push

basl · 01/08/2010 22:16

I must say sal i enjoyed getting the works recently when i went to a wedding and it does make you feel good but suppose like you say it would be good to get something arranged with the girls regularly.

Have a great time at the wedding sal and lovely to hear from you tonight x

sal1309 · 01/08/2010 22:20

FlyMeToDunoon · 01/08/2010 22:39

I'm back!
Sounds like a great night Sal. Night.

Nicola can you tell me approx how much courier for double nipper is?
I am watching this! Madness.
Had to stop ironing as my rather aggressive grumpy old cat jumped up on the board and lay down for a snooze. Had done most though.

Oh Hiya Flym, my childminding friend just picked one of those for £50.00 but she has a teeny tiny gate so no good for her. She sold it on for £100.00 . Would the postage not be around 13.00 or so if you use sendit now.

So is the double for long walks then as my sister took her double for a long walk across the Forth Road Bridge and took my kids and Olivia jumped in for a little rest. she is 5 and i have to say what's the harm if it is for mums fitness eh.

She took them because i had to go to a birthday party for twin boys today they are 6. Now i went on my own because i did not know what it would be like. The girls mum just died last week and her brother died only a short while ago too. She said she wanted everything to remain normal for the kids but her mums funeral was only Friday so i had a feeling my kids would feel a bit funny if they saw anyone crying. It was so sad but she was doing very well for her boys and they just loved their little party. You could really feel the pain in the house and glad i never took Olivia and Daniel as i think they would have been upset. Still i am glad i went. Wee shame there were hardly any kids there as i think other people maybe felt the same. It was a very emotional house and bless them they were all trying to put a face on.

Oh i am fancying a double buggy if you lot are having one. As if i would do that oh and a volo and anything else i could get a little shot of.

FlyMeToDunoon · 01/08/2010 23:18

Oh wow basl how terible. the poor woman.

I can't believe your sister walked across the Forth road Bridge. Scary.
My brothers and I always looked for basking sharks as we crossed in the car when young
Double would be for walks yes. Pure self indulgence really as just fancy trying one. DD2 does often ask to go in the pushchair so maybe a slight reason there. Totally not practical as most trips it would just be too big. Fun to try though and if I got a cheapy I would just sell for peanuts or even give to the charity shop.
I must have a mint tea [to re-hydrate] and then get off to bed.

OP posts:
basl · 01/08/2010 23:56

Oooooh mint tea very refined and to re-hydrate one says i have a drooth in this hoose

I say to all people who fancy a double buggy get one infact lets just get what ever we want.

Night Night and look forward to catching up tomorrow xxx

FlyMeToDunoon · 02/08/2010 00:08

lol basl.
I was teaching my DDs 'hoots mon there's a moose loose aboot this hoose!' today.
Nighty night.

morning all...another week of fun eh? Here we go!

Well im using send it now to send the nipper no dimensions needed plus they send to N.I at same rate. Dreading packing the damn thing up by myself later tho, and as yet no box grrr.

Go for it dunoon if you can get one cheap enough to use over hols will be great, can't wait to get mine, and hoping sheepskins will match.

Basl that is so sad, life moves on so quick eh?

Whats everyone got planned for this week? My mum doesn't work on Mondays so she's over to take us to see my cousins andhave picnic with the boys, should be nice if stays dry.

sal1309 · 02/08/2010 08:09

I already have my double for walks as bought a p&t and really quite like it just handy for dd1 to jump in and out when walking the dogs

well not up to much today off to tots later this morning then must do some housework its like a pigsty at the moment.

lillypie · 02/08/2010 08:11

Morning all
I have a double for when my DGD comes to stay.

Isobel didn't use a buggy at all last week, she has finally got the hang of the mini micro scooter that she got for her birthday in March and is refusing to get in the buggy at all!

Except for yesterday,we went for a three hour walk in the woods (mostly bloody uphill)to the top of Coopers Hill in Gloucestershire, where they do the cheese rolling
Cooper Hill

She hopped in and out of the XTS (that performed really well)although some of the hill were so steep that even Chris couldn't push her up them so he pushed an empty pram and I pulled her up behind me

Isobel was thrilled to see deer bouncing through the forest and actually walked most of the way, except for the last stretch back to the car along the road where she fell out because Chris hadn't strapped her in and she was hanging out of the side to see where I was. Then Chris ran her over because he had turned around to say something to me!!

However she was fine and as we were all knackered and starving we drove back to Bristol and had yummy fish and chips

nicolamumof3 · 02/08/2010 08:13

oh sounds so lovely where you live lillypie. Sort of thing that my boys would do. Luka fell out of xt the other week and terry nearly run him over! So i insist on straps now!!
