Can anyone think of why a property would have this many sold listings on zoopla? I noticed it as it came up for sale recently, went to ‘under offer’, and then was taken off the market without ever going to ‘SSTC’ (it was listed with an agent that seems to update to this when sales progress).

It still looks like it could be a money pit.

KnickerlessParsons · 05/04/2024 19:47

Is there a big new estate/nuclear power station/something undesirable planned just behind it?

Lonelycrab · 05/04/2024 19:49

This is intriguing as it's quite near to me.

I've just looked it up and it says that it's believed to be haunted

"Aylton Court was then leased by John Foulger, but in 1855 a terrible tragedy occurred within his family. His 12 year old son, Henry, found a gun in the house which he believed to be unloaded – in fun he pointed it at his sister Emma who was on the staircase, and shot her dead. Emma was buried at nearby Aylton church, and imagine the terrible distress of the family when shortly afterwards the grave was raided and her body was taken. Perhaps Emma’s spirit was disturbed by the grave robbers, because legend has it that she still haunts the staircase where she was shot by her brother"

Its been withdrawn on the Rightmove website.....hmmm 🤔🤔

FindingMeno · 05/04/2024 19:52

The pictures made me feel uneasy.
Then hearing the tragic story.....

imnotthatkindofmum · 05/04/2024 19:54

It says in the listing the photos are from 2016. Why haven't they taken new photos??

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 05/04/2024 19:54

Bloody hell £795 for that, bargain! Bet it needs a ton of work, is it listed… money pit.

Caffeineneedednow · 05/04/2024 19:36

Haunted.

I say that as someone who doesn't even believe on ghosts 😄

I agree. So gorgeous it must be haunted.

Newsenmum · 05/04/2024 19:57

OolongTeaDrinker · 05/04/2024 19:54

omg is it?

generallyokay · 05/04/2024 19:58

The sales history must be wrong, houses like that sometimes take a couple of years to sell once let along however many times.

It is totally haunted though and I would love to know what the local estate agents would know about it!!

Lonelycrab · 05/04/2024 19:59

This is the house right?

Doesn’t look like it from the photos

neverknowinglyunreasonable · 05/04/2024 20:00

I heard it's haunted by a money laundering family of criminal ghosts.

generallyokay · 05/04/2024 20:01

And Christ look at the cellar on the flooring plan 😩

strugglemama · 05/04/2024 20:01

Well if you look at the actual land registry data, the Aylton Court itself has only been sold once in 2002. The rest are sales of the various "Aylton Court Barns".

landregistry.data.gov.uk/app/ppd/search

Search for Aylton Court under property name and HR8 for postcode

Mystery solved

NormalForNuneaton · 05/04/2024 20:01

OolongTeaDrinker · 05/04/2024 19:54

No that's somewhere else....similar spelling and quite nearby though

Lonelycrab · 05/04/2024 20:02

And Christ look at the cellar on the flooring plan

👻👻👻👻

Grin

edit to add, looks flipping lovely that house.

BrightLightTonight · 05/04/2024 20:13

They are hops, and legend has it that if you have hops in your house you will never be poor.

Churchview · 05/04/2024 20:14

They're dried hops and something people do to decorate their room. Totally agree with you about the dust collection and also think what a fire hazard.

LaPalmaLlama · 05/04/2024 20:19

It’s lovely- I would just negotiate with the ghost to get them their own Netflix account if they be quiet, binge watch crap and leave me alone- simple!

Geneticsbunny · 05/04/2024 20:30

@Wallaw The thing in the kitchen is hops.

Sagarmatha · 05/04/2024 20:31

Intothevalley · 05/04/2024 19:41

Money laundering of some description. It's owned by a trust group; https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/02624173/officers I'd say they're selling it between themselves, to move assets around.

Definitely. Quite common to do this.

Brumhilda · 05/04/2024 20:34

It cost £10k a month in gas before prices went up!
