Can anyone think of why a property would have this many sold listings on zoopla? I noticed it as it came up for sale recently, went to ‘under offer’, and then was taken off the market without ever going to ‘SSTC’ (it was listed with an agent that seems to update to this when sales progress).

zoopla history: https://www.zoopla.co.uk/property/uprn/10009555382/

recent rightmove listing: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/136839983#/?channel=RES_BUY

It sold for 280,000 in 2020. No chance! Webuyanyhouse would pay more than that

Something dodgy with the data, not with the house imo.

However, I would still sage the house to be on the safe side.

ILoveLegDay · 05/04/2024 20:40

It looks like something that would be used in tv programmes. Definitely looks familiar

Rightmove showing no sold history, suspect zoopla is picking up something on multiple properties in same postcode

I think this too and the rightmove details say the photographs were taken in 2016. Lovely house though.

Oneblindmouse · 05/04/2024 20:47

The hops in the kitchen are a regional thing. Herefordshire, along with Worcestershire and Shropshire are where most hops are grown in the UK.

ClaudiaWinklepanda · 05/04/2024 20:54

That reminds me of the location in Slow Horses that the family from the airfield lived in.

Another2Cats · 05/04/2024 21:03

Zoopla seem to have made a mistake here. They have lumped all the sales with the same postcode into one address. If you have a look on google maps you will see a number of converted barns just opposite this house

You need to go back to the original HM Land Registry data:-

https://landregistry.data.gov.uk/app/ppd/

If you type in that postcode then you will see that the Jan 1997 sale relates to a terraced property, 7 Aylton Court Barns. The Aug 1997 sale relates to 8 Aylton Court Barns, also a terraced property.

The 1998 and April 2001 sales relate to 5 Aylton Court Barns, a terraced property

The lower priced Dec 2001 sale relates to number 8

The higher priced Dec 2001 sale relates to number 2

The April 2002 sale of £525k relates to Aylton Court itself - the property in the Rightmove listing.

The May 2002 sale relates to number 7 Aylton Court Barns

The 2004, 2007 and 2011 sales all relate to number 5

The 2013 sale relates to number 7 as does the lower priced May 2015 sale

The higher priced May 2015 sale relates to number 2

The Nov 2015 sale relates to number 1

The July 2016 sale relates to number 4

The Dec 2016, 2020 and April 2021 sales relate to number 6

The April 2021 sale relates to number 4

So Aylton Court itself (the property in the Rightmove listing) sold for £525k in 2002.

1 Aylton Court Barns, a terraced property, sold in 2015 (£275k)

Number 2 sold in 2001(£225k) and 2015 (£304k)

Number 4 sold in 2016(£300k) and 2021(£325k)

Number 5 sold in 1998(£67k), 2001(£97k), 2004(£185k), 2007(£219k) and 2011(£215k)

Number 6 sold in 2016(£285k), 2020(£280k) and 2021(£325k)

Number 7 sold in 1997(£77k), 2002(£156k), 2013(£219.5k) and 2015(£250)

Number 8 sold in 1997(£97.5k) and 2001(£150k)

This is correct ^

Thats why I don’t bother with zoopla and stick to Rightmove, sale history correct there- nothing unusual.

Sorry ghost hunters

Lonelycrab · 05/04/2024 21:08

Is this it?

nope

OolongTeaDrinker · 05/04/2024 19:54

No, that's a different house. The one you have is alton court, the one in question here is aYlton court

JJathome · 05/04/2024 21:17

Op,there is a number of properties ie the court barns, its a mess up as zoopla is covering all the renovated properties being sold, not just the main house.

Another2Cats · 05/04/2024 21:21

youvegotthissstar · 05/04/2024 21:07

No, that's a photo of the local church which is about half a mile away.

youvegotthissstar · 05/04/2024 21:35

Please do read the article as it details reported haunting following a tragedy at Aylton Court in 1855 involving the Foulger family - this property. The image may be the church.

My conclusion is two fold. It has been frequently sold as the perception is that it’s possibly haunted making it immediately less desirable. If you look at Google satellite it appears to have dirt track/tire marks on ground/ racing next to it. Not uncommon in rural areas and highly anti social, midnight tire screeching.

Or could this area be used by travelling communities? Strange tire markings..

Honestly 😂 there are a number of properties there , zoopla has put all on off them under this listing as they all start with the same name, and ghosts don’t exist.

youvegotthissstar · 05/04/2024 21:43

Yes agree! Go to google satellite and you’ll see the land that I’m referring to. The barns all run along the back of it.

Odd tire markings would suggest some form of antisocial behaviour on land by properties including frequently sold house and the barns.

I didn’t say ghosts exist at any point! Only that there’s a perception making it less desirable.

pottydimley · 05/04/2024 21:45

They're dried hops. Used to be very popular decorations in pubs. A bit passé and a fire risk.

Alicewinn · 05/04/2024 21:46

Haunted af

That doesn't look right at all. Sold twice in May 2015 for different prices, April 2002 at £525k and then May 2002 at £156k? I'd say there's a cock up on the history. Have you been able to check it elsewhere?

They developed the barns and sold them off as smaller units. The zoopla timeline includes all the barns as well as the main house.

Jellykat · 05/04/2024 21:58

I was gonna say haunted to buggery, the photo of the stairs creeped me out.
Then i read the history..

MaybeRevisitYourWipingT3chnique · 05/04/2024 21:58

No idea at all - I'm close friends with Katie Price and Piers Morgan, who live in the houses either side of this one, and they both tell me it's a beautiful area Grin

Whether they are referring to this house, or any of its nearby barns, or another property entirely, that Live Laugh Love Eat Sleep Live Herefordshire website need to cop on to themselves for relating the harrowing facts of a tragedy that took place there and then following it with "These stories are curated from many sources and retold in our fun ESL style, in the true spirit of Folklore". [emphasis mine]

Moonlitwalk · 05/04/2024 22:00

Bloody hell that house looks REALLY familiar to me but I cant think why. Maybe it was used in a film or something?- there's something very creepy about it.

I reckon its haunted

I'm betting a weird vibe. When we were last looking for a home, the realtor took us to this really good-looking house in a beautiful location. Great view. We walked in the front door and you could just feel it. My husband and I looked at each other. He felt it, too. We told the realtor no thanks. I have watched this house over the roughly nine years since we looked at it. It is up for sale approx every other year. There is something not right there. Really creepy.

Money laundering of some description. It's owned by a trust group; https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/02624173/officers I'd say they're selling it between themselves, to move assets around.

This was my first thought too. Money launderers love to use property to move money around.
