I confess I know nothing about Art but I think this is hideous!

Its on sale in the same area in which I live. Former owner a renowed artist apparently. Its a good price probably cause noone will want it

Am I alone in thinking its hideous? Where would you even start in updating it?

I think that might be the best option, although the “quirkiness” would limit interest.

From the outside it looks like a very ordinary house and probably in an ordinary area. So buyers looking for an ordinary house would have a lot of others to choose from that didn’t need anywhere near as much work.

I like the living room and kitchen (maybe a bit grand for the type of house but looks cool).

Hallways and bedroom are OTT for my tastes though.

Bathroom and spare room seem painfully dull and average compared to the rest.

Maybe some people aspire to be more than just 'average' though.

I would love to move into a home where the previous owner had put so much love and attention into. I believe there would be a lot of good vibes in the structure of it. (As long as they weren’t masking issues with decoration).

If I were to buy that property I would completely refurbish it to suit my taste and ways of living, but I would have no expectation that the next owner would appreciate or want to keep my taste of decoration after I had sold it to them.

It’s not what I’d call art, just someone’s unusual decorating style. We all decorate our homes in the way that makes us feel happy. I’m sure the next occupier will too.
