Bath in the bedroom, yuck!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 20/02/2024 15:28

Odd to have bunk beds on the landing. Beautiful house, it's huge and good location so it will be expensive.

Guavafish1 · 20/02/2024 15:29

Nice house.

can probably split into flat and get more money from selling them separately.

Bath in the bedroom, yuck!

That’s a thing these days isn’t it.

I wonder if it’s so you don’t lie in the bath and start thinking about how the grout needs a good scrub.

That is a lot of urns.

MasterOfNobody · 20/02/2024 15:32

It’s a fashionable area. But Kensal Rise is hardly well connected transport wise and it’s a bit dingy in parts. I don’t get it. I live not far away in a Victorian five bed with a bigger garden and closer to Tubes. My house is worth 50% of that house. Ours is not as nicely decorated but give me the price difference to spend on a decorator and it will be nicer!

50% of £5 million is not small change!

That is a lot of urns.

A lot of apples too.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 20/02/2024 15:39

I'm always baffled by baths in front of windows. OK, you can have the lower pane of glass obscured (thus losing any view there might have been to lie in the bath and enjoy), but what do you do when you stand up? Crouch?

I've seen loads of these posh houses with a 'bath with a view'. All I can think is, if you can see outside, then outside can see YOU. And if you have to draw curtains or close blinds in order to have the bath, then what's the point of having it by a window? The only place a bath by a window would be of any good is on a deserted island somewhere - even in the countryside there are ramblers and bird watchers with binoculars...

That is a lot of urns.

I noticed that too. I’m sure there is a ‘how much a Greek Urn’ joke in there somewhere.

It’s nice enough but I wouldn’t say anything particularly special, far too much endless matching wood for me.

AmaryllisChorus · 20/02/2024 15:43

It's horrible! All that wood on the walls and ceilings, bath in bedroom, beds in hall, random massive fireplace not in keeping with the character of the house. It reminds me of grim eccentric landladies in 1980s.
And that area is nothing special. You could buy a beautiful terraced house in Hyde Park or Hampstead village for that.

shielder · 20/02/2024 15:43

It’s overpriced, nice area & house but I very much doubt they will get that.

whirlyhead · 20/02/2024 15:44

I think it's beautifully decorated and I'd happily live in it!

Skiphopbump · 20/02/2024 15:49

That’s really disappointing, was expecting something nicer for that price.
I can’t believe it’s only council tax band D.

ErnestClementine · 20/02/2024 15:51

It feels quite luxe air bnb to me - especially with the bunkbeds on the landing.

Choconuts · 20/02/2024 15:52

Yes very weird!!

parietal · 20/02/2024 16:11

Price per sqm seems massively inflated for the area. I'd expect that in Hampstead not Queen's Park.

paulMcCartney · 20/02/2024 16:17

I really like it but it’s massively overpriced. £3.5m would be more like it.

HerRoyalNotness · 20/02/2024 16:17

It’s almost like the interior is a ski lodge or forest style. Doesn’t match the outside. Hate the bath in bedroom but I really quite like the bunks on the landing. It’s a quirky thing kids would love to grow up with.

rainingsnoring · 20/02/2024 16:18

They've gone really overboard on all the wood cladding!
It's very over priced too. A house on the same road sold last year for 2 million less, slightly smaller sq footage but semi detached which carries a premium. Crazy pricing by comparison.

DramaticBananas · 20/02/2024 16:21

I'd want to buy a whole row of terraces for that price!

Springisintheair01 · 20/02/2024 16:21

It’s much bigger inside than it looks from outside. Unusual decor eg shelves of urns. I would never look at it if I had £5 million in London!

CherryRipe1 · 20/02/2024 16:26

Good heavens! I used to live right near there many years ago as a child. Can't believe that price.

Annonymiss123 · 20/02/2024 16:34

I'm completely baffled by the bunk beds on the landing!
