I have rarely lusted after a UK house so much

Thats lovely.

I like this game! How about this one: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/143387696#/?channel=RES_NEW - I’m thinking someone who made their money by fast fashion.

Wow that’s vile!

Andtheworldwentwhite · 17/02/2024 21:01

After working in these types of places the last five years. All I see is something that is freezing during the winter. You wouldn’t believe the layers I have to wear to keep myself warm. On a normal day it is about six layers. Not for me.

@FancyBiscuitsLevel I wonder why they have all the MGM pictures? Or are they TVs?

It's quite bland though isn't it? Like whoever lived there didn't spend much time there. I wonder if it's a rich foreign national perhaps? Maybe Russian or Oil money?

No one lived there. Its a development.

Oh, beams are connected to bad feng shui? I really dislike beams in property and I’m never sure why, I find them quite oppressive. I will have to google this!

Yep. Beams that cross over your bed are particularly bad apparently, especially for couples.

Oh that is pretty hideous

Tryingtokeepgoing · 17/02/2024 21:27

Not my sort of place at all…though it looks idyllic outside (but probably isn’t given the proximity to the M50) I couldn’t live in such a a rambling gloomy property, and while the decor can be changed (subject to its listing) the dark panelling and beams will always remain.

And I have a big problem with the location…it’s such a long way from anywhere where anything happens. You’re three hours from London by train. But it doesn’t have a station, so you have to get to Ledbury or Hereford first. It’s basically the midlands, but you’re an hour and a half to Birmingham or Bristol. So you’re left with Hereford or Gloucester. If you want to be near Ross for the scenery, spend a fraction of that on a smaller place in the country and the rest on somewhere near civilisation ;)

Growlybear83 · 17/02/2024 21:31

I could probably force myself to live there 😆😆😆. I think it's absolutely gorgeous.

Garlickit · 17/02/2024 21:33

I'd like them to leave all their furniture (I'll swap things out as I settle there) but take all their creepy teenage nudes with them. Being a cynical old bag, I did ponder the opportunities afforded by a rambling, secluded mansion in the sticks.

Oppressive yes! They push energy down onto you

LadyWiddiothethird · 17/02/2024 21:37

My daughter lives just down the lane from the first house,I am going to ask her what she knows about it,I hate driving round the lanes down there,so I won’t be buying it !

etmoiandme · 17/02/2024 21:42

Tempted to arrange a viewing.

Looks draughty.

And the spiders hiding in those beams would be enormous.

I think the artist may be female.

😊 Better. But they're still creepy!

And a bit crap. 🤣

Norhymeorreason · 17/02/2024 21:56

How lovely to see a house like this so beautifully preserved inside. It would be a job and a half to maintain but I'd love to visit!

SantiagoSky · 17/02/2024 22:05

It looks amazing from the outside! But for living in it I would prefer something more practical and efficient. Just imagine hoovering all these rooms (or supervising someone else doing it)

It's horrible.

Lampslights · 17/02/2024 22:17

Wasn’t there a thread about the “chavvy house” and everyone kicked off it was someone’s home?

well this is also someone’s home. So I assume slagging it off, and even worse slagging off the owners own artwork , is equally unacceptable.?

EnjoythemoneyJane · 17/02/2024 22:23

Honestly … I can see why it would appeal to a lot of people, but if I had the thick end of 3 million quid to spend this would definitely not be on my shortlist.

Looks cavernous & draughty, I couldn’t live with all that dark panelling and I truly believe that, regardless of budget, having way, way too much space is not an easy or comfortable way to live. I’ve only got one arse to sit in one place at a time so I can’t imagine a world where I’d want 5 or 6 separate sitting rooms & a dining room that looks like a village hall!

I like some of the art though 🤷‍♀️
