Most boring place you’ve lived?

I’ve lived all over. London, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff, Cambridge, and Singapore and Chicago.

The most boring place I lived was Cardiff. Lovely city, but lived in the bay in the redevelopment for 6 months and couldn’t wait to leave.

London.

Lol. If you say so Grin.

I grew up on a suburban housing estate. No shops nearby. Nothing. It was great as a kid playing out but as a teen and young adult it was so dreary.

I'm 42 now and deliberately live in the city centre surrounded by students and families that actually do things like leave their house and spend time in the street. Yes it's a bit more crime ridden and dirty but it has life and hustle and bustle.

A town in Western Germany. Nice enough place... just everything added up to make it the most boring.

Mydogisagentleman · 03/02/2024 06:00

Central Switzerland

a very large council estate on the edge of London

Eltham. I've lived all over London during my life but by God it's a dull part of the city.

saltrock123 · 03/02/2024 06:18

A village in Scotland. Pissed up locals and lots of rain.

Ooh which one?

I lived very close to Stonebridge (NW London) when I was younger. It was er...never boring.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 03/02/2024 06:22

Crewe in Cheshire 🥱🥱

We went back to visit some friends and it was even more boring than we remembered and the fun stuff had all closed.

FindingMeno · 03/02/2024 06:24

Jersey.
It's tiny and out of season it's like being in a cell surrounded by water. There's no escape.

PieAndLattes · 03/02/2024 06:25

Dundee.

Solihull

Frankfurt

it was pre-internet and we spoke very little German, so our only entertainment was walks, a visit to the English cinema whenever the film changed (not every week) , and meals out.

piscofrisco · 03/02/2024 07:33

Stevenage.

Northamptonshire. No one knows where it is and its mind numbing. Luckily, did not stay long ))

Grew up there, couldn’t leave quick enough.

fucking yawnarama

Haha the West Midlands is huge, you can't have lived all over it 😂

Holidayhell22 · 03/02/2024 07:38

Coventry. I found it unwelcoming too. Would never go back.

BitOutOfPractice · 03/02/2024 07:41

90s housing estate (boring, nothing going on, no shops, never anyone doing anything) on the outskirts of Rayleigh in Essex (commuter town, no community spirit, small minded, incredibly Tory). God it was dull. Live in a city centre now and love It!

Imtoooldforthisbs · 03/02/2024 07:51

West Berkshire, the countryside is pretty and there are some lovely villages BUT it’s boring.

Poppybob · 03/02/2024 07:56

I was very surprised at how boring switzerland was. Plus unbelievably expensive

But in fairness, Switzerland is world famous for being boring and expensive...

I lived in Northamptonshire for a year for work when I was much younger. Lovely pretty villages, all the towns were so dull/deprived

Errols · 03/02/2024 08:10

Reading. Jeez, that place is average.

moggerhanger · 03/02/2024 08:14

Where I am now (Fen Edge of Cambridgeshire). Been here almost 20 years, unlikely to move. There's nothing really wrong with it, it's just dull. Landscape is boring, towns are depressing. It'll never be "home" but I can find some things to enjoy.
