That had been sold every 4 years for the last 20 years for no discernable reason and you can't figure out why (currently considering this).

being a chartered surveyor who does valuations for lenders I can tell you a long list of things which would make a house not mortgageable which is of course a different question.

Amazed about the person who wouldn't buy with damp though - you just identify the cause and away you go, it just comes down to cost to repair...
