Reminds me of when we came
to see our (now) home for the first time.

I made myself only look at the bones and structure because the tenants that were renting it at the time were a total mess. it’s like they purposefully trashed it the night before we came to see it. .. black curtains, dark, smelled like candles, it was grim.

the tenants were trying to buy it but didn’t have money… they weren’t happy we had showed up to have a look.

it took 3 weeks to Completely sanitize and clean and redecorate it! Didn’t even realize there was a sauna there was so much shit in this place 😂

pompomdaisy · 16/09/2023 04:22

I don't look at decor when buying. I think size, location, which direction does it face, neighbours etc etc. Decor gets changed.

Teddleshon · 16/09/2023 04:26

We’ve picked up many property bargains over the years because people seem weirdly distracted by cosmetic stuff like this. All that matters is the bare bones of the property ; location, size, garden, structural soundness, orientation etc. Stuff like all this clutter is irrelevant.

Romiii · 16/09/2023 04:44

This would be a fun property to renovate

Twiglets1 · 16/09/2023 06:03

Haha love the idea of the teddy massacre @CarrieMoonbeams - my old Lab was the same with teddies despite being a gentle soul.

It's a bit sad isn't it? The owners seem to have a hoarding problem. Though I can see why it's sold. 300k isn't bad in the south for a house that size and most people prefer end terrace as no neighbours on one side.

PurplePositivity · 16/09/2023 06:08

I'd rather buy it than sell it, can you imagine how long it would take to pack everything into boxes!

SoftKittyBazinga · 16/09/2023 06:10

For a house like that check the floor plan. I would have bought it, got a bargain, then started renovating on day 1. Been there and done it before.

LoonyLois · 16/09/2023 06:16

What sort of person has that many knives in the kitchen?!

It would be a great “through the keyhole” house

Chrispackhamspoodle · 16/09/2023 06:16

I am really tidy and don't think this is that bad at all.Just looks like they have got older and a bit cluttered.Which is probably why they are moving -to get somewhere more manageable.Someone has hoovered and it doesn't look dirty. All that stuff will go and it will be a good sized house.

LoonyLois · 16/09/2023 06:19

Bedroom 4 is a bit wacky too, you can only get to it through the bathroom yet it also has a toilet the other end!

DurhamDurham · 16/09/2023 06:29

I bet moving day will be a total nightmare, they'll still be there ramming teddies into bags and boxes at 11.45pm.

ittakes2 · 16/09/2023 06:38

Hoarding is a mental illness I am not sure shaming the owners was a good plan.

I really, really hope these people are not downsizing.

rwalker · 16/09/2023 06:49

Wouldn’t bother me can 100% look past all the shit

NonMiDispiace · 16/09/2023 06:58

I’d be wondering what all that panelling was hiding, just hope it’s completely emptied befoe the new owners move in.

MidnightOnceMore · 16/09/2023 07:05

You're not buying the contents.

PorridgeOnToast · 16/09/2023 00:38

That teddy in the bath 😂

And all those knives in the kitchen!!

Somebody is angry with their landlord for selling and making it known!

Yes I noticed the knives 🤣🤣

It's a great house and footprint. So much potential that once you've filled 600 skips of their crap it'll be worth the effort.

Plus surely most of the crap would be removed on sale anyway?

Twiglets1 · 16/09/2023 07:10

Let's hope they are a chef 😬

Imagine if they get a packing service? The expressions on the guys faces when they arrive...

kezzyleah · 16/09/2023 07:24

We bought a gorgeous Edwardian house which looked exactly, if not worse, than this. It had just been lived in for many, many years by an old lady who wasn't very mobile anymore. I think lots of people were put off but it just meant we got a bargain and the lady was happy to sell her beloved house to a family who would love it and put some work into improving it.

nobodysdaughternow · 16/09/2023 07:27

They have multiples of everything.

It is a great example of what minimalism is not.

There is zero chance they will take all this crap with them.

It's a blazing inferno waiting to happen...all that wood panelling and flammable teddies <shudders>

WolfFoxHare · 16/09/2023 07:34

I’m not so bothered by the stuff everywhere as that can go - even if the sellers left it behind, a house clearance company isn’t too expensive. It’s the layout that would put me off. The fourth bedroom’s access is weird and the main bedroom’s only window looks into bedroom four. Even the downstairs layout is odd. Also I hate the light fittings and it’s not clear to me how easy they’d be to fix without redoing the ceilings.

Also I’m not sure why PPs have referred to it as an end terrace. The listing calls it semi detached, the photos show it’s a semi and if you look on Google maps or street view, it’s clearly not part of a terrace.

Twiglets1 · 16/09/2023 07:35

Not so much Bonfire of the Vanities as Bonfire of the Teddies 😟

megletthesecond · 16/09/2023 07:36

That house was owned by someone with mobility issues. The wheely chair in the kitchen was because they couldn't stand for long.
It's a solid house though. Whoever buys it will blitz it quickly.

Abitwobbley · 16/09/2023 07:40

It looks like the backdrop to one of those hidden object games 😂
