So much we want to do but definitely the bathroom first! Originally we were going to have a complete new one but the cost was too high so we’re hoping to take out the bath & have a more powerful shower, change the taps on the sink & maybe have new doors.

Relocated out of the dead-end of a narrow road and add a utility and fourth bedroom.

NecklessMumster · 12/05/2023 08:15

An extra bathroom, preferably two. Have been known to wee in the garden when DS's are hours in the shower. And a side extension, new patio and a garage please

Feelingupset109 · 12/05/2023 08:21

Add a conservartory-type room for an extra room with sofas, tv and a coffee table, a kind of second lounge.

.Completely remodel my bedroom. I hate it. Need Built in wardrobes, colour, new furniture.
Block pave the drive.
New front door.
Remodel front garden
Finish off the living room.
New windows, only some have been replaced.

Make the tiny downstairs loo bigger. Hardly got room to sit down in there 😒

CharlotteStreetW1 · 12/05/2023 08:23

Minimum: an upstairs toilet

Maximum: a full bathroom upstairs and convert existing bathroom into a breakfast room / sun room.

Next on list: resurface frontage and "fill in" railings between neighbours' railings. Annoyingly they both have different styles.

Fantasy: off road parking.

Cleanliness! I mean clearly that is something I could change but even after last Sunday spending hours deep cleaning less than a week later it needs doing again. Still working on dh to convince him a cleaner would change our lives - his argument is basically he’s used to low standards 😂🙈

The cleaning is your DH's job too

TeenDivided · 12/05/2023 07:34

make it cleaner.
and the 'unwanted stuff' fairy would zoom through it too.

Otherwise we are really lucky with our house and I am very content here.

This is me. Find it impossible to stay on top of the bits and pieces that get left everywhere.

MajesticWhine · 12/05/2023 08:26

There's quite a long list actually, but no1 is a loft conversion.
Big hassle and DH doesn't want to do it.

True - he was pressure washing the drive/ patio and mowing the lawn whilst also supervising the children who were tidying the Wendy house so he wasn’t doing nothing!!! It’s the daily keep on top of stuff which we struggle with- both work long days and try and give the kids what we have left rather than being cleaning obsessed!

domesticslattern · 12/05/2023 08:33

The mortgage

DuckyShincracker · 12/05/2023 08:48

Big huge utility room and at least 2 more bathrooms and 2 more bedrooms. A new roof and double glazing would be grand!

Spendonsend · 12/05/2023 08:59

The box room would become a double bedroom

Karmatime · 12/05/2023 09:23

Rotate it so our small patio is west facing rather than east. I long to bask in the evening sun with a G&T.

Leapintothelightning · 12/05/2023 10:26

Lots of stuff I'd like done that we're (very) slowly getting round to!
New windows/doors
Knock down a wall and make living room bigger
New bathroom
New carpets
Decorating

Maybe by 2025!

Furries · 12/05/2023 11:38

Really needs doing: concrete render removed from back of house and replaced with correct lime render. New carpet for stairs, landing and bedroom.

Dream, but unlikely: single storey extension across back of house to create larger kitchen and garden room.

OlderandwiserMaybe · 12/05/2023 11:45

Add an ensuite bathroom. Currently only bathroom is downstairs.

Tarragon123 · 12/05/2023 12:52

Unrealistic - underfloor heating throughout

Doable but not affordable right now - new windows and doors; repave outside

Needing done in the next two years - update the bathroom

Grace204 · 12/05/2023 15:12

I wouldn't be so overlooked at the back and I'd also change having a shared driveway

wurtle · 12/05/2023 15:24

Utility room. But there isn't really anyway to add it.

recklessandrelentless · 12/05/2023 16:41

New downstairs flooring, we didnt take the tiles up when we did the kitchen and its my biggest regret!
And obviously if I could move my house to the coast somewhere...

Beaverbridge · 12/05/2023 16:45

Downstairs loo and a modern kitchen. Mine is a 70, s pine relic!!.

TheFTrain · 12/05/2023 16:48

An extension on the back so I could have a bigger kitchen and utility room.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/05/2023 16:50

More hard standing in the garden... would probably need levelling/steps/raised beds to do properly.

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 12/05/2023 16:51

Rip out the bathroom and start again but you his house is rented and I’m not allowed!
