Nightmare neighbour and new fence panel!

Northernlass1234 · 23/03/2023 21:23

Background: elderly lady 70s, lives alone, rarely goes out, has two adult sons, one nice, one not - we were previously friendly but had loft extension and neighbour got very upset about lots of things - that was two years ago and i thought things were de-frosting

anyway she texted saying she was repairing fence post but got home from work to find this - see pic.

anything i can do as she clearly did this to wind me up?

Nightmare neighbour and new fence panel!

What's the issue? It's a new fence panel and the others are just more weathered in comparison?

wendywoopywoo222 · 23/03/2023 21:30

Yes don't really see an issue either. It's a new one and the others are old.

Guess you could replace the rest of them if you want them to all match.

Verylongtime · 23/03/2023 21:31

Can’t see a problem with that. I assume it’s her fence?

Sheepareawesome · 23/03/2023 21:31

It's just a new fence panel. They all start that colour until they weather in.

ArcticSkewer · 23/03/2023 21:32

She replaced a fence panel?

That's a pretty normal event.

Rainbow1901 · 23/03/2023 21:32

Is that a gap at the bottom of the fence?

ChiefPearlClutcher · 23/03/2023 21:33

She is not the nightmare neighbour…

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 23/03/2023 21:33

She ‘clearly’ did this to wind you up!?

You think a lot of yourself.

How is she supposed to magically age the wood?

VegetablesFightingToReclaimTheAubergieneEmoji · 23/03/2023 21:34

Ummmmm that’s how fence panels come

Xrays · 23/03/2023 21:34

What should have been done differently?! The new one just looks “new”.

ArcticSkewer · 23/03/2023 21:34

Can you post a less fuzzy picture if there's something wrong that isn't immediately obvious

letsallmeetupinthehyear2000 · 23/03/2023 21:34

She didn’t do that to annoy you - she has a new panel. In what way did you go about your loft extension I wonder ?

Theraffarian · 23/03/2023 21:34

Lost as well, it’s just a new fence panel ?

neilyoungismyhero · 23/03/2023 21:34

Of course you can get ones much more in keeping with the rest of the fence. They are being complete tools. Not sure there's much you can do though sadly.

BloodyThursday · 23/03/2023 21:35

I was only thinking this today. We own both side fences in our garden and replaced them 2 years ago. Lovely and uniform. When in goes it'll be a different colour and I'll hate it. But unless I want to replace the lot again I'll have to suck it up.

Pixiedust1234 · 23/03/2023 21:35

Whats the issue?

BooksAndHooks · 23/03/2023 21:36

Ours is the same, neighbour’s dog broke our fence panel so they replaced it for us. We just need to treat them all so they look the same. Im not sure what else you expect if a fence panel needs to be replaced.

ArcticSkewer · 23/03/2023 21:36

Oh God is this another reverse? Those are so annoying

Verylongtime · 23/03/2023 21:36

If you don’t like it, you are perfectly entitled to put up your own fence on your side of the border.

Derbee · 23/03/2023 21:36

Your picture is blurry. But unless there’s something obviously wrong, and we just can’t see because it’s blurry… are you saying she’s a nightmare because she hasn’t miraculously aged the new wood to match the other panels? Or hasn’t replaced the entire length of the fence?

Meandfour · 23/03/2023 21:37

You could paint your fence so it all matches and your weathered panels don’t look as shit.

yabu to think a 70yo woman “did this to wind you up” she’s replaced a fence panel ffs. They don’t sell them weathered and old.

How can you? It's the same style but one is weathered the new one isn't.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 23/03/2023 21:37

Unless there should be a gate there it's nothing to do with you what she does with her fence.

BooksAndHooks · 23/03/2023 21:38

It is exactly the same as the panels next to it. I’m not sure how much more in keeping you can get. You can’t buy them pre-weathered, which is the only difference between them.

YellowDots · 23/03/2023 21:38

The OP hasn't got a fence, it's the neighbour's fence.
