anyone else unable to get on with this 'trend' for hard shiny white/marble (faux marble?) floors?!

I bet that that house was crammed full of workers and the cabin an illegal dwelling before that naff overhaul.

sjxoxo · 03/02/2023 14:42

Doesn’t suit the houses’ architecture at all… looks like a builder has chosen it whilst he’s been buying the plumbing parts 😂 bathroom and bedroom styling is awful too. Kitchens not bad but the floor kills it! X

BreviloquentBastard · 03/02/2023 14:47

Grey, grey, grey. Can't wait for people to get over this grey trend, we had to rip up and entire house full of tacky grey "luxe" carpet when we bought our house recently, it's just so naff and screams "I have never had an original thought and got this idea on Pinterest".

Echobelly · 03/02/2023 14:49

I've never liked large scale tiling in reception rooms, find it too cold. See a few houses with it 9 years ago when looking and always put me off a bit.

Cornettoninja · 03/02/2023 14:54

It looks like a cult was living there.

BruceAndNosh · 03/02/2023 14:58

Ideal for a serial killer. Unless the blood stains the grouting

custardbear · 03/02/2023 15:00

I used to live in that road!
Yes it's the type of floor my dog would slide on all day! And the cats would struggle with sliding too, but if heated underneath they would never stop sleeping!

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 03/02/2023 15:03

I can't bear tiled floors of any sort outside of kitchens and bathrooms, so it's a hard no from me. I absolutely love that Carrera marble look in bathrooms though.

best reserved for villas in hot countries not 3 bed semi's in the UK IMO!

I was thinking the same.

In the right setting it could work, but this isn't it.

YouOKHun · 03/02/2023 15:27

pushing £800k to live right on a scruffy A road between two very rundown properties, one of which is attached to this house. All “nestled” among the junk shops and dodgy takeaways of south London. I’m very familiar with the price of south London property but that’s a joke, never mind the decorative cliche inside. My guess is we will be able to go onto Rightmove and view this house for a very long time.

mathanxiety · 03/02/2023 15:43

Horrible doesn't even come close.

I scrolled through with one thought in mind - how much would it cost to rip it all out and start again with lovely wood...

The outbuilding is far nicer then the house.

The garden is terrible angular and bleak too.

stretching the very edge of 'beckenham' there as well

THat was my first thought - its in Annerley and squeezed in between the main road and the railway line.

Workinghardeveryday · 03/02/2023 16:44

It’s a no from me Simon

LastOfTheChristmasWine · 03/02/2023 17:58

Looks like those floors would be incredibly slippery especially when wet. If your elderly mum came in on a wet day she'd probably break her hip.

Headstones250 · 03/02/2023 20:32

Horrible, horrible house. Do like the cabin though.

What a contrast; do you think one half of the couple who own it allowed the other half to do that to the house, on the condition they could have the cabin how they liked it?

it last sold for £380 in May 2019.
I know it’s been renovated, but that’s a sh1te location. The whole street is run down.

CellophaneFlower · 03/02/2023 20:41

I've never been able to get my head around a rug on tiles. Just doesn't look right to me.

Wbeezer · 03/02/2023 20:42

I think it's been done up by a builder, probably from a country where tiled floors are the norm, and then staged for sale, there are no curtains!

larchforest · 03/02/2023 20:59

Very nice floor... if you live in Miami. Not so warm and comfy in the good old UK climate.

F4chrissakes · 03/02/2023 20:59

Very depressing colour scheme. Still, falling over and splitting your head open on it would brighten the place up, blood being red and all......

Fourfurrymonsters · 04/02/2023 13:00

It looks like a clinic. And a hard No to those floors…my hips and those of my elderly dogs, would be shrieking at the thought.

Fourfurrymonsters · 04/02/2023 13:01

@F4chrissakes 😂😂😂

Keepyourmummysboys · 04/02/2023 13:08

It’s very cold and clinical looking. I don’t know why but I think a bloke has done it. It lacks warmth and softness. And the line of booze under the telly is very odd. I just think single bloke.

the cabin thing is lovely though. A complete contrast to the clinical home.

BaroldNedmunds · 04/02/2023 13:59

The cabin is so cosy looking!
The house looks like it has been decorated by going into a shop, picking up literally anything and saying, “have you got this in grey?”

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 04/02/2023 14:07

I hate it, and also hate it in hot countries - despite it being undoubtedly practical there. Personally I find it depressing and always have.
