anyone else unable to get on with this 'trend' for hard shiny white/marble (faux marble?) floors?!

Cold choice of colours but with underfloor heating, it could be warm. However, I presume it’s electric mats so ££££ to heat. Bottom line, it doesn’t suit the house because the externals and internals say something completely different.

HyggeTygge · 03/02/2023 12:19

It says 'marble effect tiles' rather than actual marble. Also: "To the front of the ground floor is a stunning fitted kitchen suite with black door fronts and white solid counter tops which is open to the dinging area" Grin

illtakeit · 03/02/2023 12:20

It's nice but maybe just for the kitchen. If I really liked the house it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.

ThatsMsAtomicBob · 03/02/2023 12:23

They're just tiles, like any other flooring. But in this case, lethal when wet and need to be vacuumed three times a day because they get filthy very easily. As soon as we are redoing our kitchen, the horrible white, shiny floor tiles the previous owner put in will be dumped.

Bluetrews25 · 03/02/2023 12:42

Oh gosh. When the outside of the house does not match the inside!
And will someone phone the interiors police, please, because that BROWN wooden bed is THE WRONG COLOUR and does not match the entire house.

4thonthe4th · 03/02/2023 12:43

It’s very 2018. Hard to find a house without laminate / LVT herringbone now.

massivesalads · 03/02/2023 12:47

Screams WAG to me😂

It's on a par to crushed velvet...

HiddenGiraffes · 03/02/2023 12:47

I'm not a fan of those, but I do like Teracotta floor tiles or others with a similar vibe in the right climate. No good for young kids, though.

YesitsBess · 03/02/2023 12:50

Just looking at that house has hoovered my soul out through my eyes. A symphony of grey. Then SUDDENLY BED, followed by dead garden and surprisingly jolly ski lodge. A roller coaster!

Do some more I like this game 😁

QueefofSheena · 03/02/2023 12:50

That screams development property to me. They probably use the same furniture and accessories every time they flip a house and the same formula. It’s not welcoming but it will shift.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/02/2023 12:51

The ski lodge is excellent!
As for the rest of it, I couldn't afford the amount of crockery replacements required to live there.

StarsSand · 03/02/2023 12:52

Oh yuck.

It's already dated.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 03/02/2023 12:52

There's obviously been a compromise there. One person (A) wanted cold, shiny and white/grey. The other (B) agreed on the condition that they could have their cosy cabin.

Over time, they grew apart as person B spent so much time in the cabin. Really, who could blame them. Meanwhile, A turned increasingly to drink - look at all the bottles in the living room. Perched on the edge of their hard, cold sofa in their hard, cold house, which they've grown to hate. However, pride won't let A join B in the cabin, even though A knows, deep down, that B really wishes they would.

Paturday · 03/02/2023 12:54

That house needs a lot of work IMO and you can just tell it’s been done by people who will be mortally offended if the estate agent passes on that feedback 😄

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 03/02/2023 12:55

I feel like it's just missing padded walls.

YesitsBess · 03/02/2023 12:55

@JesusInTheCabbageVan hehehehehe!

How much do you want to roller disco round the ground floor though?

Bluetrews25 · 03/02/2023 12:56

I bet the neighbours hate that fucking shed with its loud, rowdy parties until the small hours right against their fence, as far away as possible from the house that owns it.

AlphaAlpha · 03/02/2023 12:58

Baulking at the price of it! Although my basis is I lived about 5 minutes from that house in 1984 and our house was £30k then 🤣
It's Penge/Anerley border - not Beckenham at all, although probably has a BR3 postcode.

madeyemoody · 03/02/2023 13:03

Works for really hot countries but my brother in law has something similar without under floor heating and in socks it's freezing enough to make your feet hurt! No thanks it's cold aesthetic and cold to touch.

Nooo, I'd crack my skull open in 3 seconds. Plus my very leggy dog would be like Bambi on the ice.

LynneBenfield · 03/02/2023 13:06

Fine in bathrooms and on worktops but otherwise, no.

YesitsBess · 03/02/2023 13:06

See now that's given me an even better idea. flood the floor, freeze it instantly using the freezer pipes (like in that episode of Tom and Jerry from the 1950s) and do ice skating.

You and Bambi can prepare aprés skate in the lodge for when I'm done.

PictureConsequences · 03/02/2023 13:08

I love the summer house! That's so warm and inviting looking, such a contrast!

Isseywith3witchycats · 03/02/2023 13:17

love the kitchen units but that white floor would be a nightmare to keep clean no thanks first thing i would do would be replace the whole lot

scrivette · 03/02/2023 13:19

The cabin was definitely a compromise! Although the house is so soulless that I am not sure it's been lived in.
