As the title, I have never seen a house like this before.
Think it might be a bit marmite, I am in the, it wouldn't be for me camp.

As an aside, what on earth is standing inside the front door?!

House here

Externally - looks like a warehouse
Internally - nothing of note whatsoever

Dotcheck · 24/07/2022 11:19

Where? I didn’t see anything unusual?

NormaLouiseBates · 24/07/2022 11:21

I actually really like the inside, but I like clean lines and minimal style.

Hohofortherobbers · 24/07/2022 11:22

Bit odd looking outside, wonder why aluminium is used to cladd it.

NuffSaidSam · 24/07/2022 11:22

It's hideous from the outside.

Practical but no character on the inside.

Is it a good price for the area?

That’s horrible outside, I’d wonder why they clad that lovely brick like that. It looks like a warehouse.

Paddingtonthebear · 24/07/2022 11:24

There seems to be quite a few of these houses popping up, that look like an Amazon warehouse. It’s extremely bland inside but plenty of space at least

liveforsummer · 24/07/2022 11:24

People really don't see anything unusual. It looks like a warehouse or farm building. I've certainly never seen a house like it. The tiny windows make me feel claustrophobic just looking at the interior pictures even though it's bright and airy decor and size wise

This thing??

It’s a statue of a woman kneeling and wrapping her arms round herself

PriamFarrl · 24/07/2022 11:26

There is a house in my parents village that is similar. The planning permission was granted on the understanding that it looked the same on the outside as the barn that was stood there before. Not some nice old stone barn but something similar to this.
I suspect this is similar.

catfunk · 24/07/2022 11:26

Fugly on the outside and brand af on the inside.
Why are the windows so small?

Neolara · 24/07/2022 11:26

Where are the windows?

BlanketsBanned · 24/07/2022 11:27

Is this the same house there was a thread about a few days ago

fortheloveofcheesecake · 24/07/2022 11:28

That office room is so incredibly depressing. Just an office chair and, I guess, a desk. The whole house is soulless. Not for me.

TedMullins · 24/07/2022 11:29

Those small windows make it feel like a prison. Horrid bland new build decor in a big tin can. Gross.

It's not just you, OP. I can only see one thing too Grin

liveforsummer · 24/07/2022 11:31

I see a penis with a baggy condom draped over it 👀

Sapphirejane · 24/07/2022 11:31

There seems a real imbalance in the living space vs no. of bedrooms. I’d want at least two reception rooms.

QuestionableMouse · 24/07/2022 11:31

Needs some colour rather than endless white! You'd go snow blind!

Emmelina · 24/07/2022 11:32

How on Earth did they get permission to build in that style? There’s clearly a very old stone building beside it in one of the photos, surely it’s not in keeping with the area?
inside looks fine. Spacious, bland. Could put your own mark on it. Not much of a garden to speak of.

EasyLifer · 24/07/2022 11:34

The outside is ugly and the inside too white for my taste. The walls need some colour or texture or artwork.

I like the layout though, the size of the rooms, and the little furniture they do have.

NiceTwin · 24/07/2022 11:34

Wow, I did not see that 😳
Thanks for the description, back to have a look now.

The windows are ridiculously small

SuperCamp · 24/07/2022 11:38

No problem with people starting to use different materials and construction methods if it is in pursuit of economy/ sustainability or whatever.

I would want bigger windows.

And am not really impressed with the downstairs layout. The use of a huge slice of the downstairs footprint for a garage means there isn’t much downstairs space or flex for a 4 bed house. One big open reception / dining space means kids have to watch tv or do homework etc shut in bedrooms.

The decor is generic new house developer trying to look trendy hotel-chic: boring. But that’s easily addressed.

The house: Just a matter of taste.
