£5m seems rather expensive and some of the decor is ok but overall it isn’t at all to my taste.

So much jealousy on this thread 😂😂😂

Tryhard40 · 16/05/2022 18:02

Oh Hercules - that house has just made my heart beat a little faster!

Stuff of dreams.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 16/05/2022 18:02

That’s much more my taste in period and decor, @HerculesMulligan, but there are plenty of buyers who don’t want the hassle, dust and expense of a period building and actively prefer modern builds. I also wouldn’t want the pool in the Ham house.

This is the sort of competition in that area: search.savills.com/property-detail/gbrirsris200197

I live nearby and with that sort of money, I'd always go for something period rather than newbuild.

Ooh, that’s fabulous.

TheHatinaCat · 16/05/2022 18:17

Oh err....

Just proves that money can't buy you taste! Confused

SwedishEdith · 16/05/2022 18:20

What's going on with the lounge with the chimney breast that can't be removed? It looks a little gloomy and unwelcoming to me downstairs.

nottoflex · 16/05/2022 18:20

It's not to my taste and I wouldn't buy it. Funnily enough I'm looking in this area and I do have the money... not to flex. I don't like the style/proportions of the house (agree with PP about low ceilings) and strangely enough there isn't very much space given how big the house is. I wouldn't like a playroom without a window, and I wouldn't like something so open plan. But that's just me. I'm sure she'll find a buyer.

Lulu1919 · 16/05/2022 18:25

How do you know it's hers . ?

Parpophone · 16/05/2022 18:26

On reflection I was possibly unfair to the OP who wasn't rude, but some of the other comments are.

This is a real, named person that is having her home slagged off (by some)

Fizbosshoes · 16/05/2022 18:28

I like the colours downstairs but it feels a little bit dark, in my opinion. Prefer upstairs decor. However I imagine if I had £5m to spend (I don't!) then I would likely have enough to change the stuff that's not to my taste. Reckon I could live with it, as is, if I was offered it! 🤣

So much jealousy on this thread 😂😂😂

Right? 😂 "Looks terrible"/"who even is she??"/"can't stand her"....

Get a grip ladies life's too short to envy rich celebrities.

ilovebrie8 · 16/05/2022 18:31

Wonder why she is selling?

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 16/05/2022 18:38

That first one needs a bit of work as well as a decor update, damp spots and whatnot but it’s a very characterful building with loads of potential and river frontage.

Bogofftosomewherehot · 16/05/2022 18:39

That decor makes my teeth itch!!!!!!!

Lolly49 · 16/05/2022 18:40

Glad she is moving we won’t have to hear her blasted helicopter going back and forth.

qpmz · 16/05/2022 18:43

Yes please! A bit above our budget though...

nottoflex · 16/05/2022 18:45

@HerculesMulligan I’ve drooled over that one. It’s quite a bit more than AH’s though.

FindingMeno · 16/05/2022 18:46

Yuk

OddsandSods · 16/05/2022 19:02

Bet that hot tub’s seen some action…

Staffy1 · 16/05/2022 19:03

Considering where it is and the size of it I don’t think it’s over expensive. The bog standard small semis around my much less posh area are half a million. The decor isn’t horrific either, it’s ok.

Soffit · 16/05/2022 19:05

It seems to be twice the price of others sold recently on the same road - now that’s a surprise!

AngryorSad · 16/05/2022 19:08

mizzo · 16/05/2022 16:50

Orchidsonthetable is I think!

I think you may be on to something.

Badger1970 · 16/05/2022 19:14

Hm, it's a little "gaudy" for my taste.

nottoflex · 16/05/2022 19:16

Very surprised it's on rightmove etc. Surprised it's not being marketed "discreetly" or at least with an agent that only gives you one or two external pics and no floorplan.
