£5m seems rather expensive and some of the decor is ok but overall it isn’t at all to my taste.

I like the outside too. It looks like it belongs in a warm location. I'm not keen on the inside. It's not very big so I don't know why they've wasted space on a bar. It's very dark downstairs, too much blue and dark grey. The bedrooms seem brighter and airer but I wouldn't want my bed under that slanted ceiling. It'd feel a bit oppressive. £5m seems a lot to me but I guess I'm ignorant on London prices.

Wideawakeandconfused · 16/05/2022 16:02

Not her biggest fan but actually love it - the interior is gorgeous

swedex · 16/05/2022 16:04

How do you know it's her house?

jay55 · 16/05/2022 16:06

Don't think I could be arsed with cleaning that mirrored bath.

Butteryflakycrust83 · 16/05/2022 16:08

Not my cup of tea - I like the toilet. Thats it.

In my experience folks who can afford to pay five million for a property can afford a cleaner…

zen1 · 16/05/2022 16:10

You can’t really tell any kids live there from the inside.

TulipsGarden · 16/05/2022 16:14

A fully mirrored bathroom is an interesting choice... not entirely unexpected though.

musicviking1 · 16/05/2022 16:24

It's too dark for me, all that floor space would be a nightmare to clean but of course she'll have cleaners so won't need to worry about that. I'm not keen on the front either.

Is it The etiquette you’re supposed to slag it off even though in a million years you couldn’t afford it and your own house, if you own one, is a dump in comparison,or something?

someone even said it looked cheap and from b&q, which one of us doesn’t want to see their epitome of taste home? 😂

Couldn't agree more.. There is nothing particularly tacky or cheap about the decor and it definitely is not B&Q tat.. whilst it may not be to everyone's taste or style there is no need to slag it off so enthusiastically especially when most people doing so couldn't afford one of the light fittings...

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 16/05/2022 16:31

The living room is a bit weird, in two halves and looks like a trolley dash through Andrew Martin & Jonathan Adler. Overall, I prefer the decor to the stark, white, sharp choice that celebs often go with.

Who’s Amanda Holden?

Google broken?
Live in a cave?

Both?

Moaningturtle1 · 16/05/2022 16:33

I must have no taste because I like it! Especially the bar opening up into the garden, I’m very envious of that and how well stocked it is! The only thing I’d change is the mirror tiles in the bathroom…..because I’d hate how obviously dirty they’d get ever time the room is used.

Hilites · 16/05/2022 16:35

Never knew she lived down the road from me

TooManyPJs · 16/05/2022 16:35

Good shoe collection.

3luckystars · 16/05/2022 16:36

Nice house, the decoration would not be my style but I like Amanda. House prices are MAD she will definitely get that and probably more!

Trivester · 16/05/2022 16:36

It’s not too bad. I’d have to change the wall paper, some of the light fittings and the handles in the kitchen … and find five million.

Wrongkindofovercoat · 16/05/2022 16:37

I actually really like it , although it isn't close to my own taste, I do think the reception rooms would have been better photographed at night.

LetitiaLeghorn · 16/05/2022 16:38

That's mad, though. Just because I can't afford something, doesn't mean I can't say what I like and don't like about it. Thats the whole fun of these threads, looking in someone's homes and imagining what you'd keep and what you'd change. I didn't care for Osborne House (definitely outside my budget). Am I not allowed to say I didn't like the furniture?

Amdone123 · 16/05/2022 16:40

I think it's lovely. The outside is wow. I think the decorating is quite quirky and if it is Amanda's, I'm quite surprised. I now think she's got taste.
I'd live it in but for now, I'm happy slumming it in my 2 up, 2 down.

BerthaLovelock · 16/05/2022 16:44

She has a home decoration range on QVC - I definitely recognise some stools in her house!

it’s not for me, so I’ll spend my (virtual) £5m elsewhere…

ICannotRememberAThing · 16/05/2022 16:45

I love the actual building and location. I don't like the decor or furniture one bit.
I guess if I had 5 million+ burning a hole in my pocket I wouldn't worry too much about the cost of redecorating...

I shouldn't think Amanda has to clean the bath...
