PennyPinkPineapple · 30/03/2022 10:41

Did I see a stained glass window?! (In the video) 😵‍💫

IlFaitBeau · 30/03/2022 10:48

sex pit.

Effram · 30/03/2022 10:51

The video tour made me quite panicky, I got stuck in the steam room and couldn't work out how to leave.

an awful lot of waistcoats in that walk in wardrobe. and medication...

Octomore · 30/03/2022 10:55

@PriamFarrl

The thinking is that it was a knocking shop.
My thinking too!
PiperPosey · 30/03/2022 10:59

Ron Jeremy is in prison..( google if you are unfamiliar with him)
Maybe that was his home...

I get the skeeevies just looking at it." WTH?

Apatosaurus20 · 30/03/2022 11:08

Is anyone else as obsessed with this thread as I am 😂

Also, whose going to call the estate agent and put us all out of our misery?

Felicity42 · 30/03/2022 11:15

Posh knocking shop surely.

JanetPluchinsky · 30/03/2022 11:16

It’s a not very nice gay sauna.

Grim. I wonder if it will sell?

BruceAndNosh · 30/03/2022 11:18

Trouble is, the vendor has insisted on a price based on the square footage, ignoring the fact that a third of the floor space is underwater.

A 2 bed central London flat needs 2 bathrooms, not 2 kitchens

shssandhr · 30/03/2022 11:19

Where is the second kitchen and how do you get to it? I couldn't find it on the video tour and on the floor plan it is just standing randomly separate?

Plutoisaplanet · 30/03/2022 11:21

@PriamFarrl

The thinking is that it was a knocking shop.
This is not a term I’m familiar with, could someone please enlighten me as I’m scared to google it. Thanks
BaronessBomburst · 30/03/2022 11:26

Knocking shop is slang for a brothel/ bordello.
I reckon it's a gay brothel though.

WhatAWasteOfOranges · 30/03/2022 11:31

This brothel has been on for years…. Or they are trying to sell again

Plutoisaplanet · 30/03/2022 11:32

@BaronessBomburst thank you!

Soffit · 30/03/2022 11:36

Strangely enough, I viewed a whole house like this around ten years ago. It was not quite as grim. It was caked in magnolia paint all over. They had painted over raised stains on the walls hoping to get away with it. The basement had a pool (a bit bigger) and the obligatory dumbbells' and kettlebells! There was also a kitchenette off the pool area . The oven was on and towels were being dried on a low setting inside.. except that the towels smelled badly unwashed and the musty, moldy stench of sweat (and the rest) had spread all around (it was a hot day in August). It was the right location and size and I even put in an offer. However, I slept on it and then called the agent up the next day to withdraw my offer. He was cracking up when I explained why (I am sure I was not the first person to provide this feedback!)

I am so glad I never bought it. I don't think you can erase the gay sauna vibe even with unlimited ventilation and removal of the acres of tiles.

Gonnagetgoing · 30/03/2022 11:36

A few years ago I went with a friend (she sold it to me as a spa day) to a place sort of similar to this in vibe in Brighton.

It sort of looked similar only was a large house. But very similar re decor inside.

It was/is a naturist venue but used by swingers/sex workers etc. I went for the day, avoided most people and left with my friend later on.

Gonnagetgoing · 30/03/2022 11:37

@Felicity42

Posh knocking shop surely.
@Felicity42 - nothing posh about it in my eyes!
Dexy007 · 30/03/2022 11:56

@NancyDrooo and @ClafoutisSurprise YESSSS to the dreams feat. long forgotten m2 of one’s home. Wtf is that about, what does it mean?!?!

airrrrAIRRRRiELLLL · 30/03/2022 11:59

Love the 'professional' photos. The patio one looks like their arm was jogged upwards to er... a wall.
The upstairs 'reception' must have looked a whole lot worse before it was staged Shock

VanGoghsDog · 30/03/2022 12:28
**@NancyDrooo* and @ClafoutisSurprise* YESSSS to the dreams feat. long forgotten m2 of one’s home. Wtf is that about, what does it mean?!?!
I think it's a very common dream, I think it's often linked to anxiety.

VanGoghsDog · 30/03/2022 12:33

@BruceAndNosh

Is the damp from the pool that has caused the furniture to rot in 2 years. or was the scrubbing with bleach 6 times a day...?

Just think how big the flat would be if you actually used the pool space for something normal.

I think.....friction.....
LardyDee · 30/03/2022 12:33

The mystery of the second kitchen - let me just say that the space in the basement which is now a low-ceilinged second kitchen in a location entirely unsuitable for a kitchen used to be used for something else. Not something which was compatible for selling to most buyers. Nor for photos on Rightmove. Nor for the nice ladies on Mumsnet Grin

VanGoghsDog · 30/03/2022 12:34

@theDudesmummy

Why would you not put away your toiletries/personal medications/dirty towel before showing your flat to the world?
Rented I expect.
MostlyEatingBiscuits · 30/03/2022 12:45

Do you think the agent has warned the owner his market is limited to cash buyers and/or those in the sex trade?
