Because the last thread is nearly full and I for one very much appreciate the space to vent Grin

Good luck to everyone hoping to exchange and/or complete this week!

@lydia771

Waiting (not patiently) for completion now! Could be any moment... this is painful
Hope it happens soon for you @lydia771 and it's not too stressful!
Paranoidandroidmarvin · 22/10/2021 12:25

I came on to see if you had completed. If u can let us know. I have all my fingers crossed for u today

lydia771 · 22/10/2021 13:04

Completed on sale... funds sent on purchase!! How long does that normally take?

popapoppadum · 22/10/2021 13:04

Very worried my solicitors are completely incompetent. Been asked three times now to provide proof of funds and wage slips. Which we have now done three times. They just keep asking us the same questions over and over, honestly don't know what's going on!

Excellent!

Usually not long. We did have a... Ahem... Situation last time wherein my solicitor was due to go on his holidays and sent my funds sat on the bloody runway on his way to Paris!!

Congrats!!!

Can I ask why your solicitors need that? Wouldn't that be the mortgage advisor or lender? I can't think we provided anything like that to our solicitors.
TakeYourFinalPosition · 22/10/2021 14:27

@Getyourarseofffthequattro Antimoney laundering checks, I think. We’ve had to do the same for our solicitors, but managed to get them to do it last week. Any news on your report?

Our seller has kicked off that there’s been no enquiries raised. Our solicitor says she’s heard nothing.

@lydia771 Best of luck.

Oh we did that but I think all they wanted was proof of id, and sold price of our house as that's where the equity is coming from.

Oh god what a pain! I was hoping you'd made some progress.

I've heard nothing either. I called but the ea was on the phone half hour ago but she's not called me back. Surprise.

TakeYourFinalPosition · 22/10/2021 15:47

@Getyourarseofffthequattro Ah yeah; ours might be as we’re putting extra money in on top of our sale.

We called an hour ago too. Nothing. I’m so frustrated.

I’m hoping the next hour and a bit brings good news for us both 🙈

popapoppadum · 22/10/2021 16:05

@Getyourarseofffthequattro no idea! The mortgage broker has it all as well. Could because we are using H2B ISA's?

Paranoidandroidmarvin · 22/10/2021 18:28

Anyone get any good news today???

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 22/10/2021 18:43

Unfortunately it didn't for me. No update on this report. Apparently the mortgage advisor is "on with it" and waiting for the lender to get back to them. I asked if it was serious enough to be a deal breaker and she said "I hope not"

I reckon we'll have to move in with my parents and complete our sale. I can't see this happening.

lydia771 · 22/10/2021 19:16

We did it!!! We got the keys and are in our new home. A long old painful 14 months and we are finally here.

My one recommendation for moving day is definitely use a removals company!!! Massively regret that but my family were amazing.

Best of luck everyone, thank you for the support over the past few days

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 22/10/2021 19:18

Congratulations @lydia771 glad someone has had a successful day!

TakeYourFinalPosition · 22/10/2021 21:23

Oh I’m so sorry, @Getyourarseofffthequattro. It’s so frustratingly slow. Do you have a date when DH could move with you; and you could at least not be split? Or is it more about being away from your parents and having your own space?

I don’t think I could cope living with my in-laws… I don’t have parents so they’re my closest comparison, and lovely as the offer would be, they’d drive me mad.

@lydia771 Ahhh congratulations!!

Our seller kicked off at 3:30, it took until 4:30 for the estate agent to reply that she’d been out of office all day. Our seller asked if that meant that nobody at all had chased our buyers solicitor today, which seemed to prompt her a bit… then we got BCC’d into an email from the very top of the chain asking for an urgent update.

Twenty minutes later, our estate agent confirmed enquiries have been sent. Sadly it was 5:15 by then, and after waiting until 5pm despite finishing at 4pm, our solicitor had gone home.

I have managed to get a copy of them, at least. Two are things that our solicitor should have sent originally, so I’m hoping they’re mistakes, but we’ve got them anyway. Four are things that are now over a month old, because they’ve taken so long, so they want new copies of. I’m just hoping they don’t take too long…

They’ve also sent over the transfer documents, and asked for the latest completion date that works for the chain Confused

Starseeking · 22/10/2021 23:00

Haven't been on this thread much this week as was convinced my purchase was falling through. Turns out it IS actually progressing, just at the elderly vendors pace. Her solicitor has advised that he has his conveyancing pack ready, but has to go through it with the vendor in person given their age and no email.

I also visited my solicitor in person and signed all the paperwork, so my side is ready to go whenever the vendor is.

Homebuyers survey is only 10 days away now Smile

Now to scroll back and see how everyone else is doing!

Starseeking · 22/10/2021 23:03

Congratulations @Paranoidandroidmarvin @lydia771 @shineysides it's lovely to see good news with exchange and completions happening on this thread, well done!

Starseeking · 22/10/2021 23:11

@Getyourarseofffthequattro that is so frustrating. I've been living with family for a few months now, due to gap between selling and buying, and am soooo ready to move into my new house now!

@TakeYourFinalPosition do you think they accept end of next week as latest completion date did you?!? You must be climbing the walls with all this by now (not literally Wink)

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 23/10/2021 09:41

It really is Sad

It's both living with parents and away from dp. In theory we can complete on our sale asap if we want to, we've just held off because ideally we want to complete our sale and purchase at the same time. We never thought it would last this long.

I can't say I really want us to all live together either but it might be the only option if we can't move in the next couple of weeks.

Paranoidandroidmarvin · 23/10/2021 17:59

So. Been back to see the house today. Long story. But there is a chance the people living there now have nowhere to go due to a massive cock up.
Now really worried Friday won’t happen. What happens if someone doesn’t move out. Does anyone know ?

NoWordForFluffy · 23/10/2021 18:47

Friday has to happen as you've exchanged. It's very much their problem which they'll have to solve, or have it cost them a lot of money.

TakeYourFinalPosition · 23/10/2021 19:34

@Paranoidandroidmarvin Is it the vendors who are living there?

They have to vacate now. Your solicitors would issue a notice to complete, if they don’t, and they’d be liable for your costs, plus anyone else in the chain affected by them not moving out. They won’t want it to happen.., it’ll be much better, and cheaper, for them to find alternative accommodation.

I’m sorry that you’re still stressing, though Flowers

We’ve just had a missed call from our buyer. Random. I’ve almost got all the answers for enquiries ready.

Paranoidandroidmarvin · 23/10/2021 20:10

I feel really bad. As it wasn’t their fault at all but their awful awful solicitors who have put them in this position. Personally after all this is over I would be doing some serious research how to sue them or something for what they did.
They had kids as well. And cats and dogs. And no fault of their own they have been put in this horrible position.

But. I still loved the house. Even if the bedrooms are smaller than here ( ours are huge here ). So will be having one of them as a dressing room!

shineysides · 23/10/2021 20:13

Congratulations @lydia771 and @Paranoidandroidmarvin!

We are all set for Monday. Confirmed with the movers and have been packing and tidying all day. Managed to get through everything on my plan for today so sitting down for a wee drink at last. Tomorrow is the final kitchen packing day! Wish me luck 🤪

SnotZinwords · 23/10/2021 20:28

I’ve been reading this post for a while. Permission to join please!
We are in a chain of 5. We are the top of the chain moving into an empty house. We have been ready since late September as have our buyers but the very bottom of the chain appears to be going very slowly and is caught up in a seemingly never-ending cycle of enquiries.

I am trying to be patient - not a skill I really possess. I’m thinking there’s not actually much we can do about it apart from chase up twice a week. Anyone else desperately waiting to exchange?
