I’m losing the plot, it’s all so slow!

We put in an offer on a house at the end of January.

It’s bloody July and we have still not moved.

Everything on our side was done and dusted months ago.

Keep chasing solicitor, for the past six weeks they keep saying vendors are still going though enquiries.

Thankfully we are renting, but my God, i’ve never known anything like it.

@Gettingonabitnow have you managed to find anywhere suitable?

In your shoes I’d be going crazy. Family are great but living with them …. nooooooo

We are just so stuck right now. I keep looking but there is now where else suitable that we can afford to buy.

@Arsebucket yeah we are in a complete chain but they are just pissing us about with no end in sight and have now fucked off on holiday. I’m LIVID.

Sorry yours is still taking so long. We got the keys on Friday. The house is being gutted it now feels overwhelming. Never happy.🤦‍♀️

We got the keys on Friday too. Exchanged and completed on the same day...went from sleeping on the floor in the old house unsure whether we were even moving or not to being in by 2pm. It was a crazy day. Feel sorry for you still stuck waiting 😫

I just don’t know how long our vendors are going to wait for their house. The agent said they are prepared to wait “as long as it takes” bit come on, when they have gone totally awol, you think you’d start to realise it’s over?

I feel for ya! I put an offer in Nov 2020 and still not moved and no date for exchange in sight.
I had sold STC, found a house, the house vendors started shielding and isolating and paused the process, I lost my buyer and got a new buyer, I looked for other options, my house vendors restarted so my offer was reinstated (at Nov 2020 prices - very lucky), took months to complete the long chain of buying and selling, another 6 weeks for them to instruct solicitors.. I had lost my hope, put an offer on another chain free house (lost out in a bidding war), finally 9 months later my vendors have filled out the forms!! My buyer has been patient but to be honest I've lost my will to move by now !!
If another hurdle happens or the chain collapses I will have no patience left to proceed.

Crikey, @Arsebucket, I can't believe this has dragged on so long!

We had a tiny version of this in March... our seller's seller pulled out of his purchase because the flooring wasn't of the quality he expected in a house of that price, and then said he wouldn't be rushed on finding something else, but was actively looking. Okay... Our vendor said he'd break the chain if it took over a month. Then changed his mind.

The sellers' seller finally found somewhere eight weeks later, and all was good, until the estate agent phoned everyone to check the chain and our estate agent told them that our buyer didn't want to proceed as it'd all taken too long. They hadn't told us. Apparently, she'd changed her mind that day and only just let them know.

Beyond frustrating... We took a few months off and started again with a new house and chain four weeks ago. All solicitors have the exchagned packs now... our seller now wants to complete by the end of August. Our buyer seems keen but hasn't contacted us about a survey or anything yet...

Hey @Arsebucket. Sorry taken so long to reply - I didn’t dare jinx anything. We moved it today, but the run up to it was beyond stressful and everything that could go wrong, went wrong, including our sellers having to fucking isolate the day before exchange. The house is nice, but I wish I’d viewed it again, but with the madness of the property boom that wasn’t possible. I really hope yours goes through soon, any news? Just never break the chain like we did! And don’t be afraid to go for another viewing would be my advice. X
