Is this the cheapest area in the uk to buy a 3 bed detached? Just can't believe how much house you get for your money!

@ClutchesPearlsAndFaints

We bought our house in November for £700 and it's nicer and larger than the one in the link. So unless housing prices have gone up dramatically in the last 6 months (which would be fine by me if they have) I honestly don't think it would be £750+. Maybe if it was bang on the seafront.

BrieAndChilli · 22/06/2021 12:53

250-300k - south east wales

notthemum · 22/06/2021 13:01

Wow. It's very nice.
Probally about £350k where I live. (South east England).
So , next question, anyone want to lent me the money to buy it 😉.

Hallyup6 · 22/06/2021 13:45

About £220k. There's something wrong with it though, it's already been sold once this year and once in 2018.

drspouse · 22/06/2021 13:48

Between £150,000 and £500,000, some very expensive and very cheap areas near me.

They have gone up dramatically
It doesn't need to be on the sea front, it's a lovely area and offers a lot
Good schools as well as what I have previously listed
Plus there are plans for Lydd Airport expanding as well as Manston

ineedaholidayandwine · 22/06/2021 13:50

£450k - outside York

Chicchicchicchiclana · 22/06/2021 13:51

Probably exactly 10 x the amount, maybe a little more, so £1.1 to £1.2 million.

I haven't read the whole thread sorry but who else noticed that scary looking shiny pipe/chimney thing in the office? Shock.

covidandborisandworld · 22/06/2021 13:51

400-500k more if prestige area with outstanding schools

MissyB1 · 22/06/2021 13:55

500k Gloucestershire.

idontlikealdi · 22/06/2021 13:56

800ish.

they call them villas in Scotland, don't know why though.

TankGirl97 · 22/06/2021 14:09

I'd guess £400-450k here. Village in Somerset with good schools. Five miles away you could knock £100k off that, it's very variable around here!

XiXiXi · 22/06/2021 14:12

£180-220 I'd say, depending on plot and views. North West England/Lancashire

PiccalilliChilli · 22/06/2021 14:23

East Dulwich SE London so anything between £850k to £1.3m.

I live in a tiny flat Smile

bunnypenny · 22/06/2021 14:25

@umberellaonesie

130-150k Patna is one of the most deprived areas of Scotland. As is a huge proportion of South and East ayrshire
yes, although mainly east ayrshire because it's full of mining communities that were decimated when the mines closed in the 80s/90s. It's led to huge social problems and deprivation and i do think that the house in the OP is expensive for the area.
Africa2go · 22/06/2021 14:26

About £500k - £600k depending on school catchments, possibly a bit more because of the view - South Manchester.

Shelby10 · 22/06/2021 14:28

Depends exactly where in my town, but could be 100k up to 250k.

Shelby10 · 22/06/2021 14:30

Oh it’s detached .. maybe 350k max

dottiedodah · 22/06/2021 14:57

About 400/450 where we are (South Coast) Unfamiliar with area really . depends on travel links ,work opportunities and so on

Seeingadistance · 22/06/2021 15:26

It’s in Patna. That’s what’s wrong with it. Lovely views, but it’s a former coal-mining area which has really suffered since all the pits closed.

Love that you're in the middle of nowhere ( by all accounts) and still overlooked.

MyDcAreMarvel · 22/06/2021 15:43

90k Max , my 6 bed was £120k in 2018.

queenatom · 22/06/2021 15:56

£500 - £650k in my part of North Bristol, I reckon, depending on how close it is to the good school catchment.

DancesWithDaffodils · 22/06/2021 16:53

3 bed detached? 160k within 3 miles of me, but there arent many.
3 bed semi, change from 100k, with quite a bit of choice for cheeper than the OP, but without the view.
