Support thread - the countdown to June 30th.... will we /won’t we make it???

So next week is June and the date is looming large! Wiltshire council are being particularly slow and searches not due back till 14th. Offer accepted early March.

36 days and counting between me moving house and a new kitchen and me moving house and saving hard to buy a kitchen in about 2 years time.

Anyone else being to feel the desperation kicking in just to all it all done and dusted!

Bloody hell well done everyone. Those of you who both exchanged and completed today must have nerves of steel. Definitely drinks all round!!

Mumelie · 30/06/2021 19:37

Thought I'd pop back on to - so glad so many of you made it today 👏🏼 - the relief must be amazing.
We exchanged and completed on the same day 9 days ago now and I'm still pinching myself it actually happened. Although totally exhausted!
🍾 here's your all your new homes.

HintofVintagePink · 30/06/2021 19:43

Just sitting down for a drink after getting 7 clients simultaneously exchanged and completed today.

Well done to everyone who has stuck it out! My nerves are shot to bits after 8 months of this pressure and it’s not even my houses I’m dealing with!

HumourReplacementTherapy · 30/06/2021 20:01

Congratulations to all who made it!
So sorry to anyone who didn't.
We moved on Saturday and I am still absolutely knackered,
Moving twice in 3 months amidst all this stress has wiped me out!
(We sold for the 31 March SDLT deadline and bought for the 30 June one 😫🤦🏻‍♀️😫)
Anyway I'm never moving again so plenty of time to unpack!
GinAll round.

HumourReplacementTherapy · 30/06/2021 20:03

Extra large Ginfor you @HintofVintagePink
I can't imagine how stressful your job must have been.

HintofVintagePink · 30/06/2021 20:09

Ah thank you @HumourReplacementTherapy

It’s been an experience!

Livingintheclouds · 30/06/2021 23:03

I don't think a thread about making the September deadline will be nearly as intense! Well done all those who made it, and for the rest of us - we can still save enough for a holiday!

Sum2021 · 01/07/2021 01:00

Somehow managed to make it! Solicitor requested funds monday at 4pm and confirmed yday at 4pm its all on. Ran around all day to 3 different banks to transfer funds (we were unorganised and didnt think to do this before as we didnt think it would go through).

Good luck to those still waiting. Hope the stress pays off in the end!

P.s. at the risk of sounding ungrateful I am having a little buyers remorse - rooms look smaller, the fear we may have overpaid and just so much renovation to do. Oh and a surprise garage roof leak that we uncovered.

frangipanetart · 01/07/2021 06:45

Another who made it by some miracle! Simultaneous exchange and completion on 29th, having had our offer accepted on 27th May!!

Really didn't think we'd make it so hadn't even started packing - man with a van arrives at 4pm this afternoon so the stress isn't quite over, but very happy and relieved.

GinGin to everyone

Iamsodonewith2020 · 01/07/2021 17:12

frangipantart how did you manage that?? Our offer was accepted on the 11th May and we haven’t even had our full structural survey done yet as all good surveyors booked up here and our sellers, seller hasn’t found anywhere to live yet so our searches haven’t Even been requested

Didicat · 01/07/2021 18:36

@frangipanetart your solicitors need a big bonus turning that around so quickly! Well done!

Is it moving day for you today @Didicat ?
Hope all goes well Thanks
Ours were err challenging! Put loads of things in wrong rooms, brought stuff we'd asked them to leave in the rental and couldn't seem to understand the difference between bedroom at the back vs bedroom at the front. HmmSmile

Didicat · 02/07/2021 19:29

@HumourReplacementTherapy we have indeed got the keys and DH has started painting, the kids are playing in the garden and I am just wandering about! We will not actinide until the 9th with the furniture and cats so just got to get the brushes out and lots of decoration to do. The place is much dirtier than I expected and the carpets need replacing in lots of rooms which we didn’t notice.... but it’s still a lovely house and with work will be fabulous.
