Support thread - the countdown to June 30th.... will we /won’t we make it???

So next week is June and the date is looming large! Wiltshire council are being particularly slow and searches not due back till 14th. Offer accepted early March.

36 days and counting between me moving house and a new kitchen and me moving house and saving hard to buy a kitchen in about 2 years time.

Anyone else being to feel the desperation kicking in just to all it all done and dusted!

It's squeaky bum time!

We're still waiting to get the exchange date confirmed by the solicitor - they won't confirm that it'll be today so looks like it's going to be a real last minute one - maybe tomorrow or even Wednesday with same day completion? Eek! Apparently the lender has confirmed that the funds will be in in time for Wednesday so at least that's one hurdle out of the way.

Maximum stress levels until Wednesday. WineWineWine

Good luck everyone!

Didicat · 28/06/2021 10:22

Well we are waiting on the license to occupy to come through to read it but if we don’t agree to it then essentially we can’t complete and thus we will be liable for the stamp duty - but it has worked in our favour not having Covid clauses in place.

OMG! The team arrived to dismantle the garden stuff and one has taken an almighty shit in the (teeny, tiny) downstairs loo and my spotlessly clean house all ready for the new owner is now tainted by a blockage and smell 😳

coffeequeenindevon · 28/06/2021 10:28

@Didicat - hopefully the agreement is okay 🤞🤞 I guess these things are unusual but standard when they do arise IYSWIM

Panda368 · 28/06/2021 10:41

I have already sent my morning emails to solicitor and Agent essentially asking them to beg the solicitor at the bottom of the chain to exchange as early as possible tomorrow morning.

I genuinely think I might implode if we get to EOD tomorrow having mostly packed a van ourselves with our entire lives and still not have any confirmation we are proceeding.

I just cannot face it.

Gettingonabitnow · 28/06/2021 10:52

@coffeequeenindevon that is vile!!!

@Didicat got everything crossed for you.

@Panda368 same for you, it’s gut wrenching.

X

Didicat · 28/06/2021 10:54

@Panda368 gosh I feel for you! Finger crossed they sort it out ASAP!

So we are now sat with everything crossed hoping that our lenders will allow the license to occupy.......

I hate waiting for things at the best of time but this is burningly painful got a stress headache, upset tum and I’m an emotional wreck. DH has just gone to work as normal......

OP posts:
10YellowTulips · 28/06/2021 11:51

@Didicat fingers crossed the lenders will allow it. Surely they have to be symphatetic as its covid related.
Do you have somewhere to go or are you in rented already?

Didicat · 28/06/2021 11:54

@10YellowTulips luckily we are in rented, but going to be so cross if this causes me to have to pay stamp duty..... still awaiting a response.....

God today is going painfully slowly

OP posts:
Gettingonabitnow · 28/06/2021 11:58

@Didicat which lender is it?

Didicat · 28/06/2021 12:02

@Gettingonabitnow NatWest still no news and the 1pm deadline is looming large

OP posts:
Gettingonabitnow · 28/06/2021 12:04

God I feel for you. We are going to be chasing them at some point.

Ccoffee217 · 28/06/2021 13:25

Hi all, best of luck for the next few days with everything crazy that seems to be going on right now.
We were supposed to exchange today (and might still..apparently) and complete on weds, but the solicitor has just rung my husband to say everything's ready except he needs our redemption certificate from hsbc.. anyone know how long this will take? I had my hopes up so much it would be today and been a nervous wreck since this morning and now have no idea when/if it'll happen 🙄

Gettingonabitnow · 28/06/2021 13:36

@coff

Gettingonabitnow · 28/06/2021 13:37

@Ccoffee217 we are waiting on one after a valuation today, and from what I’ve researched can be up to five days. I hope it’s sooner for you though. X

Londonlady33 · 28/06/2021 13:46

Do you have an online account for your HSBC mortgage? I downloaded our redemption statement from their online banking yesterday so it was instant! Our solicitor requested it last week and it still hasn’t arrived. She said HSBC are notoriously slow for redemption statements!

Ccoffee217 · 28/06/2021 13:53

@Londonlady33 thank you thank you thank you! I've just downloaded and sent to solicitor, fingers crossed you've just saved me! X

gelatodipistacchio · 28/06/2021 13:57

My sellers' solicitor sent another completely information-less email to my solicitor. We drew down the mortgage funds but will have to return them by 1 July if we don't complete by then

Separately, I had agreed to buy some chimneypieces for the new house from a salvage yard, but they have now sold to someone else as I couldn't commit in time

It's all slowly dissolving before my eyes

Didicat · 28/06/2021 14:05

@gelatodipistacchio sorry it is also proving to be a horrendous experience for you to!

Well we still have not exchanged, all the funds are there and I’m told it’s just 1 piece of paper and a phone call but that was an hour ago.... NatWest agreed to the license to occupy.

TheABC · 28/06/2021 14:07

Our van's broken down. DH left at 7 this morning to remove the last bits of furniture. He has not yet made it to our old house.

Gettingonabitnow · 28/06/2021 14:10

@Didicat you’ve still got a good few hours, and the presumable tomorrow and Wednesday too? Hang in there! X

Didicat · 28/06/2021 14:17

@TheABC hope the recovery truck gets to your van speedily.

Does anyone manage to move house without drama?

OP posts:
coffeequeenindevon · 28/06/2021 14:32

Well, the keys have been handed over here. I’m exhausted! Lots of sorting to do this end and then the stress of our purchase to start to worry about 😬

TheABC · 28/06/2021 15:10

@Didicat. DH finally made it, thanks.

"Does anyone move without drama?"

It's mathematically possible, but under these circumstances...no. Not under English law with a chain.

Panda368 · 28/06/2021 15:16

So far I have had total radio silence from all fronts and the van hire place we have found have called up DP and have gone a bit flaky -

Saying they "aren't sure where it is coming from" but "might have something smaller" 🙄

Honestly why is everything so damn difficult? We have been ready to go for 3 weeks on both our sale and the purchase. I really hate the bottom of the chain for forcing us into this horrible position.
