So next week is June and the date is looming large! Wiltshire council are being particularly slow and searches not due back till 14th. Offer accepted early March.

36 days and counting between me moving house and a new kitchen and me moving house and saving hard to buy a kitchen in about 2 years time.

Anyone else being to feel the desperation kicking in just to all it all done and dusted!

Solicitor now tells us redemption statement is fine, but he needs hsbc to confirm money will be down by weds, call them up to he told money will probably come down 1st July as it stands, but solicitor can ring special solicitor line and they might be able to help, yeah right, now waiting for solicitor to confirm funds will come down on the 1st 🤯
Bottom of the chain are threatening to pull out now, this whole thing is a disaster

Didicat · 28/06/2021 16:33

Thank you all for your thoughts - we have completed but with license to occupy in force and thus we can’t actually go to the house until Friday at 2pm. I don’t even feel happy or relieved, it’s completely taken the shine off the whole process.

@Panda368 and @Ccoffee217 I really hope you manage to get everything sorted and settled. This process is just insane! I never want to move house again unless I can just go on holiday for a month and come back after everything has been moved to the new house.

@Didicat thank you, glad you have completed, even though there is a dark cloud over it the main thing is you did it!!

Question to everyone, has anyone had mortgage funds from hsbc (or anyone else for that matter) in a few days? I.e less time than specified, and you can see it on the online banking app?
Agent has managed to keep the chain together for another day. The solicitors secretary believes our funds will come down tomorrow even though they were only requested weds last week 🙄

coffeequeenindevon · 28/06/2021 17:43

Many congratulations @Didicat, but sorry it’s not the exciting time you’d envisaged.

Gettingonabitnow · 28/06/2021 17:47

@Didicat congrats, I know it’s not how you had in your head but you have done it!

TheABC · 28/06/2021 17:49

@Didicat, congratulations!
This too will pass. The shine will come back when you are sitting in your front room, drinking champagne.

Elmrosie · 28/06/2021 19:14

We're a cash buyer trying to buy a chain free property - we are ready to exchange, but the vendor's solicitor hasn't sent out the transfer deed or contract for signature and won't answer calls. AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHH.

We got HSBC funds in 5 working days (Thursday before Easter to Friday after). We missed the first end of March deadline but thankfully benefited from the extension.

Good luck all, cheering you on and feeling your pain!

Starseeking · 28/06/2021 21:13

Congratulations @Didicat...in 3 months time this week will be a long distant memory and you'll be really enjoying your new home!

gelatodipistacchio · 29/06/2021 07:29

Congrats @Didicat!

Didicat · 29/06/2021 07:38

Thank you to all the well wishers! I only work part time in a school so the stamp duty was nearly my whole salary for a year. (DH has a much better paying job) I spent the evening drinking wine and uncontrollably yawning, I took a nytol and went to bed early. Only 3 more sleeps and the sellers have put up a SM help needed post and had lots of offers of help.

Really hoping a few more of you can scrape across the line. Got everything crossed for some miracles.

Come about 10 am I’ll be refreshing my emails every 2 seconds for confirmation of exchange. 🤞 we will be packing the van all day I think. Hopefully we will get everything in and will then be cleaning

gelatodipistacchio · 29/06/2021 09:53

Good luck, @Panda368

Didicat · 29/06/2021 10:10

Good luck @Panda368 hope you have keys in hand soon! We got a phone call before the email for completion so keep your phone handy!

@gelatodipistacchio @Didicat

Just exchanging today.
Completion not planned until tomorrow.

I’ve heard from solicitor this morning that our funds have all cleared so that is one bit of good news at least.

Gettingonabitnow · 29/06/2021 10:40

@Panda368 all sounds really positive! X

Porridgeislife · 29/06/2021 10:52

We’ve finally reached completion day. Spent Sunday moving to the rental and our cleaner went in yesterday. Just waiting for the money now!

Didicat · 29/06/2021 11:13

@Porridgeislife congratulations!

Good luck to you all. We’ve just exchanged and completed and the whole journey has been hellish. We’ve lost 2 houses, outbid on others and have had to extend our rental with rubbish landlords but we did finally get it. We offered in February and were worried the sellers would ask for more money but it’s all gone through. When the sdlt deadline was extended we thought we’d be quids in but because we’re moving to Wales we got a grand reduction of 2.5k. The thing holding us up at the end was the seller's redemption certificate-they kept promising exchange but it never happened and we did it all on the same day. I hope we like it here because I don’t want to move for a very long time! Best wishes to everyone 😊

FerretFumbler · 29/06/2021 14:12

Congratulations to all you successes!

Mortgage funds can come through in less than 24 hours. Mine did. Apparently there is an urgent email you can use or something.

My solicitor actually pulled his finger out and I thought we might actually make it. But no. Held up by my first time buyer. Something about her revised mortgage offer. Very pissed off and just ordered myself a big chocolate milkshake and 2 pieces of cake from just eat.

TheABC · 29/06/2021 14:36

We are in! Got the keys, completed the exchange. Now for the million cardboard boxes to unpack....

Panda368 · 29/06/2021 14:37

And we have exchanged!

Londonlady33 · 29/06/2021 14:51

After a stressful six months, we have finally exchanged and completed! Not actually picking the keys up until Friday (couldn’t get a removal company any sooner!), but feel unbelievably relieved. Not sure how I’m going to get any work done this week!

coffeequeenindevon · 29/06/2021 15:42

Congratulations all round!

Gettingonabitnow · 29/06/2021 16:01

Congrats everyone! Keep your fingers crossed for me over the next few weeks will you! Is that all of us now?? X
