Support thread - the countdown to June 30th.... will we /won’t we make it???

So next week is June and the date is looming large! Wiltshire council are being particularly slow and searches not due back till 14th. Offer accepted early March.

36 days and counting between me moving house and a new kitchen and me moving house and saving hard to buy a kitchen in about 2 years time.

Anyone else being to feel the desperation kicking in just to all it all done and dusted!

Wow lots of positive news!!! Congratulations to the exchange /completers

@FerretFumbler I think your take out order is definitely needed!!!

So today for all my hundreds of thousands of £s I paid yesterday I got a singular gold coloured key Grin it’s completely symbolic but I feel a bit happier for having it in my possession.

Tomorrow we are moving garden stuff to the shed and the plants across and into the greenhouse and tools into the shed.

Many congrats to all you lovely ladies!
I'm so pleased and relieved to say we also exchanged today!! Completing tomorrow 😃🎉 can't quite believe it x

overwork · 29/06/2021 16:32

Ah congratulations all it's so exciting to hear that so many of you made it! We're still in limbo waiting to find out if our sellers will wait for our buyers to find a new place. And to be honest the extra £15,000 we'll have to pay is somewhat taking that shine off it all anyway. So reading all of your enthusiasm for your new place is keeping me going!

GrapefruitTsunami · 29/06/2021 16:52

Congrats to everyone who exchanged/completed today!!

It's now almost 5pm and we haven't exchanged :( My solicitor really is going for the simultaneous exchange & completion at the last minute tomorrow. I could do without this stress!

OUB1974 · 29/06/2021 21:44

We complete tomorrow! We exchanged last week so it should all be fine. We dont actually save anything but we are very excited, and there are two people above us that wanted to beat the deadline, so I'm glad we did.

No idea what time it's all happening. As we're only getting keys (not moving things out of storage until next week), I am going into work in the morning and waiting for the news!

Livingintheclouds · 30/06/2021 03:04

I had the seller from second house (who pulled out due to ill health after we moved mountains to be ready to complete in six weeks) come back and say he's ready to go ahead! But no contract of sales package so no chance of last minute stamp duty saving. Anyway decided that our third house, despite the JK, is still a better buy.
Despite all this still managed to experience mini move as had to move from one holiday cottage in this complex to another.

Dinosauraddict · 30/06/2021 06:08

Congratulations to everyone who has made it over the last week, and good luck to those of you who are taking the final step today. It has been a crazy few months for us all!

Didicat · 30/06/2021 06:50

Good morning, the deadline day has arrived congratulations to all that have snuck through, commiserations to those that haven’t. Either way hopefully we have all survived the emotional and mental pressures of the last few weeks. (I resorted to going to boots for kalms tablets and rescue remedy)

Hope those who complete today have a smooth day, get their keys early and the house is tidy and clean...

Still silence from my sellers ... Pretty sure it's not happening!

LopsidedWombat · 30/06/2021 07:48

Congratulations to all who made it in time and to those who complete today, hang in there, the light is at the end of the tunnel!

Starseeking · 30/06/2021 07:51

Good luck to everyone aiming to complete today, this last few months has been a rollercoaster, and I hope you all make it across the line!

Gettingonabitnow · 30/06/2021 07:54

Good luck everyone! X

Ccoffee217 · 30/06/2021 08:20

Best of luck everyone! This has been a crazy time for us all. I still think it's mad the government didn't taper it down a bit more gradually, between June and sept only £2500 can be saved, they should have done it in a way that didn't cause such panic and distress 🙁 But it is what it is, best of luck to those doing simultaneous today. We are just picking up the van ready to move by 1pm 😅

Panda368 · 30/06/2021 08:35

Early doors today - our sale has just completed! at 8.30am!

Now we have a mad dash to finish clearing and cleaning before dropping the keys!

NoWordForFluffy · 30/06/2021 08:54

Surely it's time to sit down and have a leisurely breakfast, @Panda368?! 🙈🤣

Didicat · 30/06/2021 09:17

@Panda368 Awesome News! McDonald’s breakfast for you!

We have completed! Almost a year to the day since we decided to sell up and move back to our home town after I lost my job.

Sellers are still loading their van, which is fair enough as I don't think any if us expected us to be this early! We're picking up the keys when I finish work at 1pm, and showing our little boys their new home after they've finished school. I really can't wait! Good luck to everyone else completing today.

10YellowTulips · 30/06/2021 09:53

Congrats to all those who have completed ! Hoping to see lots more today !

@NoWordForFluffy spot on , hope she brought her camping chairs, lol

Potterurotter · 30/06/2021 10:12

I made it! Somehow! We exchanged and completed yesterday and only got the cal at 3.45pm to get keys. Most stressful thing ever!!! Good luck to everyone today xx

Panda368 · 30/06/2021 10:34

@NoWordForFluffy it’s a definite feature of this whole process for us. Everything at breakneck speed.

Our chain only completed 7th April when the house that we had lost out on at best and final rang us back when their first buyer backed out.

We sold our place in under a week 2 weeks earlier after sprinting to get it on the market on the Monday after first viewing the house we have just bought on the Friday.

It’s been totally bonkers and crazy stressful and scraping in under the deadline has always been a long shot but we bloody did it!

TheABC · 30/06/2021 11:10

It's been a crazy sprint. 3 months, from placing the house on the market to completing, yesterday.

Congratulations to everyone who manages it today and commiseration to those who have not.

I do t want to move again for another decade, at least!

GrapefruitTsunami · 30/06/2021 13:04

We did it!! Our solicitor sorted out our exchange and completion just before lunchtime today! Couldn't be more grateful and relieved.

Anyone else still waiting for news?

Cocoaone · 30/06/2021 15:15

Haven't been on the thread much as moving ourselves proved much harder work than we ever could have anticipated! Never again, is all I can say!

Our buyers also managed to sneak completion through yesterday afternoon, so pleased for them too.

Hope all is going well for those of you who complete today 😁

Flowers500 · 30/06/2021 17:05

Just did a same day exchange and completion on SDLT deadline day 😭😭😭😭 off to lie down…

JaffacakeJanine · 30/06/2021 18:47

Through some miracle (our solicitor is a complete superstar) we managed to exchange and complete simultaneously today?!?!!? It was touch and go for a few days and we really thought we weren't going to make it (we have been waiting since September so that was painful). SO GLAD THIS IS FINALLY OVER! We are chain free so that point of stress is luckily a lot less than you guys in chains (good luck to all you moving etc)! Off for a drink or three ;)
