I quite like it

It's a beautiful house and would be really lovely without all of that clutter. What's with all of the hats on the wall?! And the rabbit ornaments on the kitchen work surface? Don't get me wrong, my house isn't minimalist but that much "stuff" is unnecessary.

Purplewithred · 11/04/2021 23:23

The recycling centre is small, well down the road and only open limited hours. Not porgy/rubbishy at all (I’m local). I think the house is lovely although horribly overstated and far too many twee lifestyle photos, just show me the flipping kitchen layout not the expensive pewter hares casually lying around on the worktops. Also NE garden a dealbreaker for me.

By way of a local contrast, who fancies a Project?

I don’t like the layout. I want my dining area leading off from my kitchen.

EverythingRuined · 11/04/2021 23:29

It’s a lovely house. The photos are awful, though. The photographer obviously thinks they are better photographers than they are and is doing that hideously naff thing of trying to sell a ‘lifestyle’ rather than a house. Makes me cringe every time I see it done.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 11/04/2021 23:32

If I was looking in that area, in that price range, I'd go and look at it. I can't get a feeling for the place as the photos aren't great & the decor seems so samey.

Nothing that I hate (that wouldn't be leaving with the current owners) but nothing I love either.

merrymelody · 11/04/2021 23:36

I don't much like the decor tbh but the house itself appeals to me enormously. I never really pay attention to the decor when viewing a house except in relation to my own furnishings.

Gobbeldegook · 11/04/2021 23:56

@Woodpecker22

It is also next to the Cum Factory maps.app.goo.gl/zYwoJZxTdudVx6e76

(sorry it made me laugh)

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gobbeldegook · 11/04/2021 23:56

Beautiful house but bizzare ornament taste...

whatisthislifesofullofcare · 12/04/2021 00:26

The layout would be ideal for me...two spare ensuite bedrooms downstairs for returning grown up kids, which we could move into - one each - when we got too old to go upstairs.

Hella jump though, £300k in a year.

But I’d buy it if it valued up.

Aquamarine1029 · 12/04/2021 00:34

WTAF with all the hats?

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 12/04/2021 00:48

It looks like the owner of a shop has closed down and put all the stock into the house. Why else would there be so much. I wouldn't have all that stuff on the kid's bedroom windowsill either, big house - got to be space for shelving.

TheCrowening · 12/04/2021 01:04

The house itself I like, but everything inside it would have to be changed.

BigBlueDog · 12/04/2021 01:13

It seems quite cheap to me when it's within commuting distance of London where every 3 bed house will cost the best part of a million.

That's potentially a really nice house. I bet a builder will snap it up and make a big profit.

Anystarinthesky · 12/04/2021 02:14

I don't like slanted ceilings, so this would be a no from me.

SubCoral · 12/04/2021 07:28

I like the house. The kitchen lets it down in terms of size and style. I don’t like the 2 bedrooms being downstairs, as I wouldn’t want to leave both or 1 of my DC sleeping on a different floor.

The recycling centre would also be a negative.

SoosanCarter · 12/04/2021 07:54

I can’t believe someone went out to buy 12 hats to hang on a wall.

Berriescherries · 12/04/2021 08:38

@Nith, that house has beautiful bones!!

Poorlykitten · 12/04/2021 08:43

Love the house. Hate the decor. What’s with the hideous hats and dog/rabbit/skunk statues everywhere. Plus grey palette is surely over now, isn’t it? Please let it be over. Grin

Now, this could be great.

SoupDragon · 12/04/2021 08:49

@Poorlykitten

Oh, I would love to shower that with love (and shed loads of money!)
WildfirePonie · 12/04/2021 09:04

And what about this poor cockatiel?

I doubt the owner lets the bird out ever, look at the house. It is pristine.

Thoughts on this house?
Poorlykitten · 12/04/2021 09:06

That’s a ridiculously tiny cage, if it’s a real bird. ☹️

PineappleTart · 12/04/2021 09:10

I like the building but it's like it's been staged by someone who's never actually lived in a house. The kitchen counters were enough to irk me but is that really a vase on the cooker too?

knitonedropone · 12/04/2021 09:13

Way way too much clutter, it needs a skip.
