Overselling a property on rightmove

The house is absolutely beautifully decorated. But surely potential buyers are not to overly concerned to read about all the design choices of the seller, especially since it will look a lot different once the furniture is gone?

Bet my bottom dollar the house proud vendor will have insisted on all that going in Grin

orangenasturtium · 14/02/2021 14:47

It's the estate agent. All their ads are like that. It is a bit much...

chloechloe · 14/02/2021 15:42

Gush gush gush 😃

The vendor has written the blurb, as evidenced by it being prefaced by:

The vendor says “....”

And is no doubt driving the EA crazy. Lovely home though.

Bluntness100 · 14/02/2021 15:44

They don’t seem to be talking about their furniture? It’s about the stuff staying, what they’ve done and the layout?

Beautifully done though,

Honeyroar · 14/02/2021 15:44

Omg what a waffle! Lovely house, but I can’t believe the price. I’d want detached with six acres.

BrokenCircle · 14/02/2021 15:46

If it is soooooooooo lovely, why are they moving?

BentBastard · 14/02/2021 15:49

@BrokenCircle

It's a nee build according to the description.

I don't think it's worth money, even for Bath which I know isn't cheap.

@BrokenCircle

That's exactly what I thought.

It's as though the vendor is also advertising their business. The gushing purple prose wouldn't entice me, but if I liked the the house and the price I'd view it.

Suzi888 · 14/02/2021 15:54

Not a stylist I’d be hiring any time soon Confusedit’s central Bath - never going to be cheap!

MyHeroMakkaPakka · 14/02/2021 16:04

Surely no one actually reads the blurb anyway? price, floorplan, photos, map marker are the important bits!

passtheorange · 14/02/2021 16:12

I like the wallpaper in the bathroom .

And what have they done to the books on the bookshelves? Why have they turned them all back-to-front? Weird.

1frenchfoodie · 14/02/2021 16:12

All the books are spine to the wall, persumably for the aesthetics. Psychos.

NoToast · 14/02/2021 16:20

Nah, it's not aesthetics, it's all hard core porny literature. Grin

orangenasturtium · 14/02/2021 16:24

I hate it when people turn books back to front like that. Just get a kindle if you think books look messy.

Am I seeing things or do they have a bunch of dried flowers suspended on a thread from the ceiling above the bed? And in the sitting room too?

TheFairyCaravan · 14/02/2021 16:27

It’s still bloody grey.

ufucoffee · 14/02/2021 16:32

How much? For that?

WonkyCactus · 14/02/2021 16:34

If I had that much to spend on a house, I'd want somewhere detached with a bit of character, not a terraced new build.
The style is nice but bland. Not a great advert for the stylist selling it!

CallMeBritney · 14/02/2021 16:35

Agree.

It's a boxy new build with some cliched but nice (if you like that sort of thing) William Morris wallpaper. Whoopeedoo.

Bluntness100 · 14/02/2021 16:37

@Honeyroar

Yeah you’re not going to get that in bath..😂

I think it’s really lovely. I’d hire the designer in a flash.

CallMeBritney · 14/02/2021 16:37

Spines-to-front books just screams 'we bought a job lot of these from the local chazzer and we've not read a single one'

ApplePie86 · 14/02/2021 16:43

Those photos are dreadful!! Half of them way over exposed and the other half just look boring and dull!

Honeyroar · 14/02/2021 16:45

Bluntness, no perhaps not in central Bath, but there are plenty of houses that are like that within ten miles of Bath. And plenty bigger, nicer houses centrally for the same price. You’re paying for the designer- and it’s not particularly unique, you ought to be able to do similar yourself.. I do like it, but I say it’s overpriced.

PeterPandemic · 14/02/2021 16:48

And yet no bugger bothered to mow the lawn for the photos.

DrFoxtrot · 14/02/2021 16:49

Shock do some people really store books like this? What if you wanted to read a specific one and had to pull each one out to see if it was the one you wanted Confused.
CrazyFoxLady · 14/02/2021 16:50

Does a very tiny person wash the dishes? Hmm
