Overselling a property on rightmove

The house is absolutely beautifully decorated. But surely potential buyers are not to overly concerned to read about all the design choices of the seller, especially since it will look a lot different once the furniture is gone?

It’s a little noveau Roche.

I’m a landlord and I employ a copywriter to write the house descriptions so they are ‘just so’.

Honestly why is Bath so expensive? What's there? I'm gobsmacked by that price, and I've lived in London.

ChairOfThePTA · 14/02/2021 19:49

There’s a Very Good University there @user85963842

Not quite Oxbridge or Durham standards, but “good enough”. 3rd tier. A noble ambition for many.

user85963842 · 14/02/2021 19:51

Durham has a very good university, pretty sure you wouldn't pay £685k for a 3 bed terrace...

ChairOfThePTA · 14/02/2021 19:51

Of course not. Durham is oop North.

user85963842 · 14/02/2021 19:52

(Sorry didn't realise you actually quoted Durham it was the first northern good uni I could think of ha)

Style over substance.
I’d want actual Georgian.
Not faux-Georgian.
And that blurb - jeez. I couldn’t get to the end.

What's there? Now let me think....

It's a mixed bag, but it's a lovely Georgian city, not too big, not too small, with loads of art, culture and great restaurants. Only massive downside is the tourist invasion. I do love it though.

Also that house is not really representative of house prices in Bath. I think they are deluded putting it on for that price, but who knows.

ZooeyS · 14/02/2021 20:03

Mad price. There are larger period properties in Widcombe (which is nicer, and much closer to town) available for less money.

Covidcorvid · 14/02/2021 20:05

I do like the kitchen.

Smallgoon · 14/02/2021 20:07

I mean you could get a decent enough 3 bed in a decent part of London for that price...

StevieNicksIsMySpiritAnimal · 14/02/2021 20:19

Perhaps I'll just go away then, thanks

@2018SoFarSoGreat - sorry, didn't mean to sound snotty. It just grates when there's a link to a property, say, in the North and someone (not you!) comes on to say "I can't believe how cheap that is, in London you'd get shared ownership of a shoebox for that price!"

Pet peeve of mine!
