Green kitchen or grey kitchen??

Hello,

As the title suggests, I'm torn between choosing a very pale green or a very pale grey for our new kitchen cabinets. I love the green but am worried that it'll make changing the decor more difficult in the future if we fancy a change, or that I'll get bored of it quicker. It's also much harder to get hold of as most places just do a sage green which I'm not really after.

I really like the grey too, neutral and a bit more interesting than white (not wishing to offend anyone). But will I wish I'd gone for the green once it's in?

We're thinking of having wood-effect LVP on the floor, similar to the one in the photo, we haven't quite decided on the shade yet. Does anyone have any advice!? Or just your opinion of which colour you like best would be helpful!

The white in the photo are possible worktop options, we're thinking of white.

Thank you

when we were looking we were erring towards pale grey then fell in love with pale blue so put the pale grey on the walls , if i wanted to change the colour scheme i could now go for blue on the walls the green you have picked there is a bit more niche but would go with lots of colours, at the end of the day go with the one you like the most as its your kitchen

Green

Go with your heart. You will not get sick of it if you love it. So green!

BewareTheBeardedFatMan · 17/12/2020 20:31

Green, grey is more boring even than white!

Smallgoon · 17/12/2020 20:43

I hope to never in my lift time have a white or grey kitchen. Go green.

fuzzymoon · 17/12/2020 20:45

Green definitely.

Thank you for all the responses so far - pretty unanimous!

Read somewhere that because of the Mrs Hinch effect that grey is going to date really quickly (I didn't care and have a white and grey bathroom).

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 17/12/2020 21:41

You will get most replies saying green because mn hayes anything grey, but I don't think that green will look very good if you are going for smooth gloss cabinets. I really dislike smooth gloss anyway but I would get fed up with the green pretty quickly.

@Iminaglasscaseofemotion

The finish will be matte, whichever colour we go for, if that makes a difference?

Grey

CoronaIsWatching · 17/12/2020 21:55

Green

Grey is more unfashionable than Magnolia now

chipshopElvis · 17/12/2020 21:56

I have a new green kitchen I love it. Go green!

toomanyoptionsaargh · 17/12/2020 22:06

More votes for green! I would love to see any pictures if anyone has a green kitchen they'd like to show off?!

Between grey and green I would say green. But that looks like mint green. So from the choices on offer I would say neither am afraid.

CoronaIsWatching · 17/12/2020 22:10

Needs to be sage green

MadeForThis · 17/12/2020 22:12

Grey

NotABeliever · 17/12/2020 22:18

I have Wren Sea Foam which is a pale blue, not quite green but not far off. Acorn and drawing would be a proper pale green.

I love green and if it was a dark solid one I’d have said green, but pastel green, no, don’t, it’s just not good. If it really has to be between these two, then the grey, it’s more of a neutral.

toomanyoptionsaargh · 17/12/2020 22:29

@NotABeliever
I liked the look of all of both sea foam and drawing from Wren but was put off the company by the reviews. Would you recommend them? I'd love to see what they look like in real life as we can't get to a store at the moment.

It is a bit minty, there just don't seem to be many shades of green available other than really dark or sage. I know DIY kitchens do custom colours but it feels a bit risky if I haven't actually seen the colour on a door before ordering.

Thank you for all the contributions so far, you're helping!

Green, love the colours of nature - you can’t go wrong

Baxdream · 17/12/2020 22:37

We're having some work done next year and my plan is this! So I'm definitely green. I agree about sage green though. I'm going to get paintable though so I can change it if I go off it!

@Baxdream
That is really gorgeous - what colour is that? I'm struggling to find a paintable slab door - it all seems to be shaker (which are lovely but my husband's not keen on).
