We bought this house as ftb in our early twenties, been here nearly 20 years and the time has come to move as we could do with a bit more space / another bathroom and would like a less overlooked garden.

3 x with parents, 4 x at uni. Countless post grad, different relationships/jobs and travel abroad. 3 x with my husband. Settled now though! Feel like I have one more move in me at some point but not anytime soon!

23 times in 45 years!!Shock

Padbrat and then married into it!!

I've only ever lived in 2 houses. First being the family home which I left in my 20's upon us buying our first home upon marriage. We deliberately delayed buying a home so we could save up enough to buy a "forever" home instead of moving a few times. Small enough to live in as a couple, but big enough for a couple of kids.

Same family home all my life until

Move1 to uni
Move 2 studying for masters
Move 3 with friend to London where I needed to be for career
Move 4 moving in with boyfriend (now DH)
Move 5 - priced out of and sick of London so a move to countryside to try it out now we have a family

We are about to do move 6 to a house in a village we now know we like because we have to leave our current place (tenancy up).

Then we will be finally able to buy somewhere of our own in about a year so that will be move 7 . The plan is to stay there a few years when we will hopefully be able to buy somewhere slightly bigger so we can have room for another child. So that would be move 8.

All the moving is exhausting! It’ll be a good day when we are in our forever home

Move 1: 6 weeks old abroad
Move 2: 9 months old back to UK
Move 3: 20 months old abroad again
Move 4: 2.5 years old back to UK and into childhood home
Move 5: 18 to Uni halls
Move 6: 2nd year shared house
Move 7: 3rd year shared house
Move 8: MA year shared house
Move 9: On-site accommodation for work for a year
Move 10: Rental Flat in current town for new job
Move 11: Bought my own flat in current town
Move 12: Bought a bigger house

Plan on being here for quite a while so fingers crossed there will be no more major moves.

Far too many times. I've forgotten some but must be 30+. 4 with my parents, then untold short term & places where I lived for work, before buying my first place 20 years ago & had 4 subsequent moves since. Looking to move again now. Longest I stayed anywhere is my current place, which is almost 7 years. I hate it here & have done since we moved in, but it served a purpose. Don't want to move again for a VERY long time!

Gawd I often forget some.
Childhood 5 moves 4 different counties
Left home moved 5 times as a student nurse/first qualified.
4 times, 3 different counties then met husband
3 houses before we had children.
Since the children where born 7 times. 2 different countries and 2 different counties. Longest I have lived anywhere is 6 years a few 6 months and I now averaged 2 years at this moment. We have been in this house nearly a year and I hope we won't need to move for a long time as I am getting old I would like to stay somewhere for 10 years that would be amazing.
