Latest update last week was solicitor waiting for an enquiry raised with sellers solicitor & 1 search to come back.

2move I really feel for you. It's unbelievably frustrating. We have been close to that situation.

I haven't posted much on this thread because so many unbelievably shit things have happened all due to one part of the chain (in an otherwise straightforward chain) that it'd be outing but it'd make your hair stand on end! If that's even the right expression.
And to top it all our baby has been quite poorly but hopefully only briefly.

Still hoping to exchange ... done everything physically possible that we can to get it done so sort of resigned now.

Exchanged, completed and moved in! What a mad day but we made it after 16 weeks of waiting! Thanks for all your support everyone.

Someone's not being truthful.
Sellers solicitors say they requested info from bank on 16th August and still waiting response.
I just rang the bank and they told me they can turn it around in 24 hours.

Yes they can and sometimes quicker. That's definitely not true.

It's Monday in the morning, and the whole thing starts again!

Here's hoping for a good week everybody!

Got home from a weekend away for find our sale contract waiting to be signed. Got all excited until I checked it over and realised there were errors in both the contract and the land registry document. They've both got the old sale price on from the first offer, the idiots haven't changed it, despite the covering letter having the correct amount. Solicitor will have a nice email waiting for them in the morning!

It's Monday again .......... let's see what this week brings. I'm thinking not a lot for us tbh.

Interesting day here.

We took the weekend to sleep on the idea of walking away from the sale and decided it was the right move.

Emails sent this morning to say that we would not be moving forward.

Next thing I know I have the estate agent manager on the phone telling me he is going to get exchange through today. Annoying, because I asked him 2 weeks ago to get involved and he wasn't interested but we let him do his thing.

Low and behold we get a call at 5pm saying, sorry...excuse...excuse... it is definitely going to happen tomorrow...

Yeah right!!

@2moveornot2move the threats seem to work!
Maybe phone tomorrow and pull out and say you've got til 5pm any excuses and we are gone.

@LIVIA999 we tried that 3 weeks ago, it didn't work. We moved the goalposts twice more as we fell for the excuses. We are no longer threatening, we are not selling. The EA is wasting his time, unsuccessfully I may add!

@2move what a day, and somehow how predictably awful of them to try to keep messing you about! Have you moved into your rental yet or are they still fixing the electrics?

Due to complete next week.. still haven't exchanged. Getting really anxious now 😬😬

justlurking dont' worry too much (although do keep up the nagging so the solicitors don't slip).

We eventually exchanged on Friday 24 August - with completion planned for Wednesday 29th. Bear in mind that the Monday was a Bank holiday too. My nerves were frazzled by Friday afternoon when I finally got 'the call'.

It seems that everyone finds this moving process so difficult. I do not know why it NEEDS to be.

However we can now breathe as are safely moved in and do not have to speak to those solicitors ever again.... .

@legolimb thanks! Logically I'm sure it will happen (everyone seems keen)... but so invested now and afraid it won't. Strange to thing this time next week we could be packing to move... or not!

I think we're full, I'll make a new thread, let's hope we've all exchanged by the end of the next one!!
