So FTB,
Latest update last week was solicitor waiting for an enquiry raised with sellers solicitor & 1 search to come back.
Almost there!!

Anyone else with me?

Great to hear people exchanging!

Getting frustrating here. We've been ready for a couple of weeks, but buyers solicitor very slow.
They are now arguiing semantics around a garden shed and planning permission. At the end of the day it doesn't have any. Either take an indemnity policy or pull out already!
Still, it has only been 8 weeks, so still moving along I suppose.

We’re getting docs to sign tomorrow on our purchase and will then be ready. Apparently very bottom of the chain is not quite there and it’s not clear why. It’s so stressful.

We’re a chain of 6 😫

When you thought everything was going so well (we're all lined up and ready to exchange on the place we are buying)..... and then you hear the dreaded words from your solicitors "I have not had a response or enquires raised from the buyers solicitors. It may be worth asking the estate agent where the buyers are up to".

Aargh

I've literally asked my solicitor a few times how things are going with the chain and got bland responses. This is the first time he's mentioned our buyers aren't responding.

I hate not knowing and I hate surprises. I'm just trying to resign myself to the idea that it will probably not happen so I don't get my hopes up. Aargh again.

Now I've got my vent out the way. Good luck to those of you who are having stresses like me. Congrats to those of you who've done it... phew!

Heard nothing from the solicitors today. Spoke to our seller last night (Facebook messenger, this is a very weird purchase haha) and she said they had signed everything there end.
I want the keys dammit! I want to get in and clean this weekend.

Thought we were all set. Turns out the place we are buying, the place they are buying has things outstanding. Solicitors has said all sorted but it isn’t. They are buying a relatively new house that has had an extension, the developers need to confirm it was after the completion of development or before, and if before if they gave consent. Hoping they can sort by email.

Our buyers have sorted solicitor and mortgage and because they are FTB and we are moving into an empty property our estate agent said it should only take until end of summer holiday. Fingers crossed as I still won't believe it will happen until I get the keys in my hand. I feel like no house sale ever gets completed.
How is everyone else getting on now? @zebrapig any more viewings?

Our solicitor has posted the property report and contracts but I'm not at home! I'm on holiday somewhere else in the country!! It means I have to wait until midday when my husband joins us and he brings it with him. If he wasn't coming today, I'd make him photograph every page and send to me!! Grin

We’ve just signed our purchase paperwork and are sending it today. In theory we’re all ready but there seems to be some delay right at the bottom of the chain.

Yes! We are selling and buying. First sale fell through but this one seems ok. We were hoping to move in July as we are expecting our first child in August! Looks like it's going to be September for us now. We've started packing but a bit nervous about it given that our our first sale didn't work out. Think it will be ok this time 🤞🏼

Now trying to arrange exchange and completion for the same day.

I've been reading this thread for weeks and finally posting as well - I can't deal with the suspense of just waiting when everyone is ready to exchange and planned completion is next Friday. We are being held up by our buyers' solicitor who keeps losing track of certificates we sent weeks ago. (The same solicitor who asked for completion certificates for an extension that was our neighbours' as well as a gas fire that is elsewhere in our street. I am getting close to looking up her details and just shouting at her on the phone Blush.) Combine this with a FTB at the end of the chain who went through the slowest mortgage application process ever plus delays from releasing his/her help to buy funds and you get to offer accepted +15 weeks and still no exchange Shock even though both ourselves and our buyers have been chasing people left, right and centre. We could be hours away or it could still all collapse and if I drink as much Wine as I need to calm me down I won't be in any state to pack this weekend... sorry, rant over, hope others have more luck today, fingers crossed for everyone!

RiddleW so are we, after so much pissing about from our seller that we nearly pulled out.

If their solicitor can just pull their finger out, we could be exchanging on Friday. I daren't even hope though.

@LIVIA999 none yet. Had a message from the estate agent to ring them back after our viewing this morning but by the time it came through they were shut and not open until Monday. It's probably just feedback from the viewing but it's annoying me that they didn't say why!

Week 12 for us. Seems to have ground to a halt, waiting on the seller as they are moving into a new build and there is some issue with the warranty for this. I cant imagine having more than the two of us in a chain - it seems to be so faffy. Were hoping to be in for the school holidays! Cant see it happening anytime soon. Good job we found the perfect house or Id just give up I think!

Signed but not dated the contracts. Returning them tomorrow when I pop out to the solicitors. Just waiting on enquiries to be returned. We are ready to exchange on ours. Just waiting on the purchase to be lined up.

I've spoken to agents and lawyer and we are still tentatively on for exchange on Friday with a completion 4 weeks later.

We signed last week.

However still waiting on searches ( buyer's property).

Spoke to our solicitors office tofay. They still haven't received our mortgage offer . Turns out the bank had sent it to an incorrect email address.. aaarggh....

Our potential exchange date has beendeclined by buyer's buyer and put back another two weeks.

I just want to pack up and go!!!

Our sellers are ready and waiting. I want to be in that house for some of the summer.
