So FTB,
Latest update last week was solicitor waiting for an enquiry raised with sellers solicitor & 1 search to come back.
Almost there!!

No real update hear, still waiting on our mortgage offer which we should have in the next couple of days. I'm in a stand off with our vendor & the ea over breaking the chain. I have a feeling we will end up giving in but the longer I can put it off the better.

The buyers at the bottom decided they were fed up of waiting and put an offer in on something else. We went back and said we'd break the chain and complete in 2 weeks if they would still go ahead but they declined. Irony is they won't be in somewhere else any quicker.

We've put it back on the market, have a viewing booked for Saturday already. Just hoping either us or the lady that was buying ours gets an offer quickly and we can reinstate the chain. Not sure if our vendor is willing to wait as the ea hadn't been able to get hold of her to tell her about the collapse.

I bet they just saw something they liked more, cunts. It's obviously not gong to be quicker.

This is why a long running chain (like I am in) is so vulnerable, you run this huge risk that someone in the chain will see their dream house pop up or will get cold feet.

Can I join in please? We accepted an offer on our house very end of May. Had an offer accepted on the place we are in love with last week. They haven't found anywhere yet, I'm not complaining as it took us 6 weeks! We want to be in by Christmas so we can do school applications though. I've never sold before so just crossing everything it all goes ok.

zebra that sucks- and as others have said, they have already got so far so unlikely to be any quicker, that's just a lie. Hope karma bites them on the bum
rangerlady welcome! Be aware that any timeframes you see online suggesting 6-8 weeks to buy and sell are vastly underestimated! We are in a chain of 4 houses, looks like whole thing will be just under 3 months. We did have a delay in paperwork of a week or two sorting a planning permission issue.

We are inching sloooowwwwly closer. Our buyer has transferred deposit money to his solicitor. I called ours this morning to find out if their questions had been satisfactorily answered and if we were exchange ready but no reply and when I called to chase before closing the solicitor was in a meeting and her assistant wasn't there this afternoon :(

Had call from the agent for the place we are buying to check we had returned our contracts and asking about deposit - taking that as a good sign that people somewhere up the chain are ready and checking!

Hopefully news in the morning....

Thank you, yes i am well aware much could go wrong. Our buyer is a cash buyer currently renting so that helps. But a nervous wait nonetheless. I really feel for those suffering setbacks. Good luck to you housemum

Congratulations to all exchangers!

I’ve got a really bad feeling about our chain. Everyone but the FTB at the bottom has been ready to exchange for three plus weeks. I can’t work out who’s dragging their heels. We’re now on our way to France and may or may not be moving a few short days after our return.

In the very fortunate position of not selling current home (renting it to DS) and the property we are buying is a home our sellers rented out so no chain at all. No EA involved either wonderfully.

We've waited since March 2017 for this house (long story!) Everything is ready, just waiting for the call to sign. I want to be in yesterday.

Thanks @LIVIA999! We've got a viewing booked on Saturday with someone who is relocating. Also spoke to our ea today who said ur buyer is still really keen to buy our house and has two viewings on her property on Friday. I'm hoping between us one of them might get an offer, especially as the one we were buying has gone back on the market today.
