Atthebottomofthesea · 10/06/2018 21:25

Fingers crossed for you. I agree we do need some good news on here.

edge I know, someone asked me today if I had moved (haven't seen them for a few weeks, moving close to where they live) I rolled my eyes and they responded 'I guess I shouldn't have asked' (in good humour)

PleaseSell2018 · 11/06/2018 10:46

We are 6.5 weeks post offer acceptance and our buyers are having their mortgage valuation and survey done on Wednesday.

Just reading through some replies on here and it could still be a month until their mortgage is approved?

We thought we'd be completing end of June (no chain) but that sounds unlikely now.

Tbh I just want to get to exchange. The uncertainty is crap.

egdehsdrawkcab · 11/06/2018 11:24

I think our buyers situation and deposit were unusually complicated. It took nearly 6 weeks post valuation for their mortgage offer. Our agents said up to two weeks was average after the valuation.

I just want to exchange too! I won't believe it's really happening until then. Won't start packing etc....

PleaseSell2018 · 11/06/2018 12:08

Two weeks sounds better!

I've already started packing as we've got loads of stuff we're not using and it was helping to keep me motivated.

Atthebottomofthesea · 11/06/2018 12:34

I have totally lost the motivation to move. I hope once I have certainty I will find it again.

theluggageslegs · 11/06/2018 13:18

Losing the will here. Not today because our solicitor is away (fair enough, but can’t someone else heck the flipping paperwork verbally with me so we can exchange?)

theluggageslegs · 11/06/2018 13:20

Check. Even my phone is giving up Grin

Our timeline is: sold mid March, offered on purchase a week later. All paperwork from our end done weeks ago, contracts signed first week in May. Buyers solicitor pissing about ever since.

egdehsdrawkcab · 12/06/2018 07:44

That sounds painful, theluggage, what's the solicitor stalking over (or are they just generally inept)??

Our buyer is coming to measure up, cue massive round of tidying and cleaning again! When will this end???

PleaseSell2018 · 12/06/2018 09:50

Dh has just emailed me to say that a few people at work who are trying to buy have had their mortgage valuation come in way below offered price.

Our buyers mortgage val is tomorrow. I don't think we're over priced but it's London so it's a lot anyway.

theluggageslegs · 12/06/2018 11:03

egdehsdrawkcab I think they’re just inept! Agreed moving date has always been late June / early July, we’ve now agreed 16th because our buyer and vendor both wanted that date - fine by us but like you, I just can’t let myself believe it will happen until we’ve exchanged.

Atthebottomofthesea · 12/06/2018 12:26

Spoke to my solicitor today. Apparently he sent an email yesterday and will chase again later today. We need this date firmed up.

Tohaveandtohold · 12/06/2018 19:43

So today, our solicitor sent us loads of paperworks, in it was the contract that we need to sign and the completion statement (it has what we need to pay deposit plus the solicitors fees). We will be transferring the payment in the morning and sending the signed contract back through first class post. Does this mean we are exchanging tomorrow once we’ve paid?

Notmorewashing · 12/06/2018 20:42

Joining in possibly the most longest wait so far !!!

Is anyone in a chain with a new build??? What a DISASTER.

Chain is
FTB - me - my vendor - new build being built

New build at the top “wanted everyone to exchange ASAP” from MARCH & nothing is happening

All paperwork for FTB and me has been completed both sets of contracts all signed all searches back etc within 3 weeks ready to go as of mid May.

my vendor solicitors saying today they expect to be ready to exchange in August with new build !!! Why ????

Really worried about losing my buyer

Atthebottomofthesea · 12/06/2018 21:00

Not Yes us. Pretty much the same story. FTB; Us; Vendor moving to new build..

Originally told 15 April which worried me as I didn't think we would be ready. Then there were issues apparently with the house next door, so then May, so then 1st (or 1st week of) June (some confusion) but the 12th and still here. I am worried about our buyer, especially as their mortgage offer runs out in 18 days.

egdehsdrawkcab · 12/06/2018 21:06

Eek, their offer runs out?? Do they have to re apply from scratch if it expires?

Atthebottomofthesea · 12/06/2018 21:09

They might be able to get an extension, but yes it might involve the whole process again. Hence the real need for us to complete.

The solicitor was supposed to ring me back today, he didn't.

Atthebottomofthesea · 12/06/2018 21:14

It is 6mths. They offered in December, we offered in February,

and yet we are still here. I am half packed as we had a possible move date a month ago.

I am so frustrated, I moan a lot to the people I see due to work (it is in a relevant conversation, I don't just launch into it randomly, things aren't that bad...yet)

egdehsdrawkcab · 12/06/2018 21:35

Oh I feel the pain.... and I do launch in quite randomly at work - it's ever present on my mind, not least because we've got 8 weeks refurb project once we get the keys!

Notmorewashing · 13/06/2018 08:20

@Atthebottomofthesea I feel your pain! Our buyers mortgage runs out end of August.

It seems nothing happens over summer, why not just shut down things and allow financial stuff to have pauses rather than leaving everyone hanging and kings expiring.

I am tempted to say we will walk away if not done in a month to test the water but could backfire ...

PleaseSell2018 · 13/06/2018 12:31

Ffs. Mortgage valuation and survey booked for today has been cancelled as the surveyor is sick. Can't be rescheduled until end of next week.

I'm going to ask for our house to go back on the market as I think our buyers are delaying.

When will this fucking end 😖

Notmorewashing · 13/06/2018 13:05

Does a delay in exchange often mean something is dodgey ? I’m wondering if something is wrong with the people above me in the chain that they can’t proceed onwards to the new build ?

PleaseSell2018 · 13/06/2018 13:56

Our buyers took 5 weeks to submit their mortgage application and now this delay. I'm just feeling they're delaying for whatever reason and we need to exchange asap.

UnimaginativeUsername · 13/06/2018 17:49

I have nothing to report. I’m just waiting. Waiting for the bank the process the mortgage application. Waiting to hear back from the searches. Just waiting. It’s boring.

Notmorewashing · 13/06/2018 17:52

:( life is just on hold it’s so annoying I don’t even feel like I can enjoy my holiday coming up in 2 weeks

egdehsdrawkcab · 13/06/2018 18:10

Isn't it just, everything's on hold!

We finally have agreed a verbal completion date for early July. Hoping to exchange early part of next week. 🤷‍♀️
