Anyone nervous for primary school admission results?

State primary admission results are.out this week. We have to wait for a letter, how retro, as we did a paper application for a deferred Reception start (DD is 5 in July, some minor additional needs). Really really hope we get a place at the friendly local school a 5 minute walk away! Anyone else waiting and want to chew their nails with me?

I was a bit anxious but I don't know why, ds2 is already at our first choice school and we live very close by- still a massive relief to see that a where ds3 has been offered. Huge sympathy to anyone who has been disappointed- you'll get some excellent advice and support on here if you need it.

Does anybody know what time North Tyneside send out their emails? The anxiety! 😬

Stilltryingtocatchwind · 16/04/2019 09:45

@car1sberg log onto the online form I’m sure yours will be there. Mine was listed at 6am and I know lots of others were. I didn’t get the email until 9am.
The info is quite a long way down the page

RiddleyW · 16/04/2019 09:46

Do they ever put the result up on the admissions site before they send the email. I keep checking the page which I’m sure is pointless. WAAAA!

car1sberg · 16/04/2019 09:47

@Stilltryingtocatchwind thank you for replying - I’ve been logging on to the portal continuously but I can’t see anything? I’ve been checking my messages - is that right? Thank you!

Stilltryingtocatchwind · 16/04/2019 09:47

@car1sberg once you’ve logged in click “apply for school place” then at the bottom of that page is your offer

Stilltryingtocatchwind · 16/04/2019 09:49

No idea what the messages button is for there is nothing there.
But now I’m dying to know if ours is the same school. Does it start with A?

car1sberg · 16/04/2019 09:52

@Stilltryingtocatchwind thank you - I have and there’s nothing there.. I scrolled down past all the info and it says ‘Make a New Application’ then ‘you have no children without an application.’ And gives me the option to add one? Argh...

Stilltryingtocatchwind · 16/04/2019 09:55

Well that’s rubbish. It should take much longer surely

car1sberg · 16/04/2019 09:58

I’m a bit anxious anyway because we’ve applied from a different county (moving back up north in the summer after living away for a few days) so wondering if I’ve done something wrong somehow! I had my email confirmation when I made my choices though.. we’re also applying for a school just out of catchment area, gosh this is nerve wracking!

car1sberg · 16/04/2019 09:59

Years not days 🤣

bookworm14 · 16/04/2019 10:00

Why do London boroughs send their results so bloody late? I’ll have passed out from tension before 5pm!

car1sberg · 16/04/2019 10:00

Sorry have just seen - no it doesn’t begin with an A.. begins with a B ☺️ Got me wondering about yours now..

RiddleyW · 16/04/2019 10:01

I’ll have passed out from tension before 5pm!

Same! We don’t even have a time just “the evening”

Bugsymalonemumof2 · 16/04/2019 10:03

Phew my DD got first choice!

Stilltryingtocatchwind · 16/04/2019 10:03

There’s generally only holystone and the whitely bay ones where there are capacity issues. If not there’s not many bad schools so I’m sure you’ll be grand @car1sberg

car1sberg · 16/04/2019 10:03

@RiddleyW I feel your pain. I feel sick!

Missmonkeypenny · 16/04/2019 10:05

DD didn’t get into any of our 3 choices, instead allocated a school which is an academy and a religious school which ‘requires improvement’ - I am beyond devasatated and feeling very stuck.

car1sberg · 16/04/2019 10:07

@Stilltryingtocatchwind thanks.. we’re actually moving to Holystone but haven’t opted for that school as it’s so full that our older child wouldn’t get in. I have the added worry of needing to sort out his application after this too..

car1sberg · 16/04/2019 10:08

@missmonkeypenny you poor thing.. I hope you can figure something out?

SparklySneakers · 16/04/2019 10:09

Email at 2211hrs yesterday saying ds has got his first and only choice Smile Id actually forgotten allocation day was approaching so was a nice surprise last night.

DumbleDork · 16/04/2019 10:13

My email came through at just past 9am. And we got our first choice thank goodness. So pleased Smile

ThisIsTheEndgame · 16/04/2019 10:18

@SparklySneakers I wish I had forgotten!

A friend of mine has told me she has got a place in our first choice. I live (literally) miles closer than she does so there's no real reason to worry but still.

I'm really sorry monkeypenny - are you on waiting lists for your preferred schools?

MsMarvellous · 16/04/2019 10:29

We got a spot in the same school as his sister so are over the moon today.

I'm sorry to those who haven't got a place that they wanted.
