Anyone nervous for primary school admission results?

State primary admission results are.out this week. We have to wait for a letter, how retro, as we did a paper application for a deferred Reception start (DD is 5 in July, some minor additional needs). Really really hope we get a place at the friendly local school a 5 minute walk away! Anyone else waiting and want to chew their nails with me?

My email came through at 00.01! Hadn’t waited up though but I was up with the baby at 1.15 so logged on. First choice thankfully although second would have been ok too. Good luck to everyone still waiting

Found out Derbyshire email at 9.30am so not too bad but I'd rather know how

@BingandFlop2019 looking at your picture they have waitlisted you for schools ranked 1 and 2.

If you do not want to stay on the waitlist you need to let your LA know to take you off.

I only state this as in some areas, should a higher ranked school free up a waitlist place, you may be automatically given it and you existing offer revoked.

Therefore if you’re very happy with the 3rd ranked school and want to keep it, be sure to remove yourself from any waitlists. Be sure that if you call to do this you also follow it up in writing to be safe.

Not every LA works this way. Some give you a limited time to decide if you want the waitlist place or not still. But if you’re in an area that automatically moves you it’s worth noting this.

We have to wait on emails at some point through the day. Sigh

Feeling a bit sorry for everyone in the school admissions phone team, I sense a busy day ahead for them!

@applekatie me too! It seems that eadmissions hadn't suddenly had a technical fault & released the info early just when I'm waiting 🤣😂

I’m incredibly tense. Have applied to our six nearest schools but it’s possible we won’t get into any of them.

We get an email this evening apparently. Not going to be very productive day for me at work!

We didn't get our first choice - I've already put us on the waiting list but I'm not hopeful. Really fed up about it, as our first choice was really nice.

Email just in. First choice. Y6 move from first school to middle school. First choice is literally across the road, but hugely oversubscribed and DS is in a bulge year with lots of younger siblings! Second choice would be 5 miles on a bus by himself. So relived. Have spent the last 6 months convinced I’d done the application wrong.

I'm automatically on the waiting list for our number one school and apparently we're number one on the list for it which is good news

Especially as I know there are people who have been given our first choice school but want the one we've been given!

The Facebook groups have started popping up for new starters but none for our school yet. Is it bad I want to be in one but don't want to be the one that starts it?

still anxiously waiting to hear. I have the worst feeling he won't be offered a place anywhere, we are quite far from all of the ones in our area.
