Yes, i have no life! And we are lucky in that all the schools near us seem pretty good, but I'm still itching to know if we got our first choice. nerdy.

I'm regards to the appeal system - do you forfeit the place you've been given in order to start the process?

Are you ever able to find out why you weren't offered a place as well at you first choice? We are so close to the school. Every one is shocked as we're so close.

For those waiting...I have just been onto the link where you can accept or decline places offered and the info was already there! I haven't had the email, but I have accepted the place.

It's frustrating because on the nursery run I've seen loads of people who've got their places already. But I haven't received an email despite being in the same borough and applying online like them, and not using yahoo or aol, and I think we'll have to wait till tonight.

My nails are going to be shredded.

We got our first choice school, crossing everything for you all!

I'm London, logged in and nothing about results what so ever....

im in London too...seems like a lot of people in London have been told 'late evening'

We are waiting for a letter tomorrow but the Wiltshire figures show 90% of applicants got their first choice - taking bets on us being in the 10%!

We got our first choice and so did ds friend. We are in bristol and got the email just before 9 even though the website says they'll be sent at 10! I'm so relieved. I'm sorry for all those who didn't get what they wanted.

Nothing from our council yet. I tried logging into the admissions website but got I am sorry but the website is currently not available while essential maintenance is carried out It does say that parents should receive an email this afternoon though.

I'm not as worried as others here as we live in the catchment area (albeit on the very edge) and have an older DC at the school. However, this year will apparently be the first where there are not expected to be enough places for every family within the catchment area and/or with DC already in the school. I expect DD will get a place, but am very nervous for some of the lovely friends she has made in the school nursery, who might be getting bad news today.

London and Surrey use the same computer system. When I got secondary a month ago the result was on the system at 5 but the email didn't come until a while later (I had already accepted my offer by then).

Accept whatever you are offered rejecting it will not improve your chances at another school, and the LA doesn't have to find you another place.

Yay dd got into our first preference. So pleased as was worried as we moved halfway through the process.

So much for emails after 9 am. Ours was sent at 00.56 and I got it when DS woke up around 3.30!

Good news, we got our first choice. Accepted the place online when I got up at 5, so just waiting for the school to contact us nearer the summer.

I know our LEA just put the basics in the email (offered or not offered next to each choice), and they say that if you haven't got your first choice you will get a letter with more details. So I'd hope lots of the info people want, like last category/ distance offered and how you compared would be included on that.

Will be interesting doing the nursery collection tonight- nobody else had applied to our school, but I hope they managed to get their choices.
