Yes, i have no life! And we are lucky in that all the schools near us seem pretty good, but I'm still itching to know if we got our first choice. nerdy.

Tiggytape, I've been obsessively logging in ever since about 3am this morning, when is first woke up! Nothing online yet, and I frightened the life out of the postman just now too. Nada :(

We got in to our village primary which is great news. However, I can't see any option for accepting the offer. It does say that a letter will be sent out today and that should answer any questions we have. I applied online but is it likely that the acceptance will be via post?
Don't want to mess it all up by not accepting.

Dh has now lost his cool with our council and their only posting today and spoken to the DofE who said any council not telling today, they can send letters today but have to tell you today if you ask, is breaking DofE guidelines and you can put in a formal complaint. DH then rang council, mentioned his convo with the DofE and miraculously they will email us the results this afternoon.

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 16/04/2014 10:43

Thanks tiggytape, I can't see any option to accept so will hold tight until the letter comes.

SmileAndNod · 16/04/2014 10:53

Blueberry thanks for that info. Was wondering why, even though we apply online, we don't get a letter until tomorrow (or Saturday). May try ringing them then...

SmileAndNod · 16/04/2014 11:02

blueberry your DH obviously more gifted than me. I was told no, decision is sent by letter, we don't send emails or give out over the phone. HOW can they get away with this when it's national offers day TODAY

EasterSmegs · 16/04/2014 11:12

Just spoke to admissions person at the council and apparently the emails aren't going out till after 5pm. She was adamant this was the case.

This is rubbish as friend down the road has already received hers, they got their first choice which is our nearest school.

Letters are going out today as well Hmm.

Worried007 · 16/04/2014 11:13

WHERE IS THE POSTMAN!!

I am going out of my mind here!

FusilliJerry · 16/04/2014 11:16

West Sussex has sent emails. No need to accept offer here, it's automatic of you want what you have been given.

Worried007 · 16/04/2014 11:23

Doing a Bluebell and phoning up. They haven't send me out a letter today either, am wondering if it is the same council.

I have been put through to the legal team who are a bit confused but are off to find out that information for me (I hope)

pearlgirl · 16/04/2014 11:25

Like Sylvia I applied online and got an email this morning but can see no way of accepting the offer - it does say we will get a letter. Ds4 has been accepted by the school across the road and I am so relieved ( I had worried even though he is the nearest child in his year to the school and I had only put the one choice down).

Worried007 · 16/04/2014 11:30

They won't tell me until tomorrow, they said that I can make a complaint if I want but until a letter arrives tomorrow we won't know.

Awful people.

pommedeterre · 16/04/2014 11:53

fusilli - guess mine must have gone down as a paper and ill get a letter then (late application done via email with the office).

We were late because we lived in Italy for a year and dropped off all records and I hadn't realised.

3asAbird · 16/04/2014 12:11

well some news here as spoke to my lea and neighbouring lea as live on border city.

my lea very unhelpful.

said look kow you busy keep it breif.

I hve just changed address online now to new one as if had corrected it before allcatin day and after admission day that would be classed as late applicant-they confirmed thats correect as moved month half ago.

I asked about 2local schools to new address and they said 1 oversubscribed coe church school as really wanted a faith school.

The other community one that daughters freind is attending has 1 space but when said great how do i apply-he said god knows ho that space be allocated wouldent bank o it being actual space.

when asked if how do find out waitlist number. he slike if you moved closer to school 3 which dident get then i have chance but very vaugue,

basically said email them with new change address
wait by letter.

no info on appeals.

wjhen tried to ask about furthest distance he was like wait until you get your letter it explains everything.

I then rang bristol lea who couldent be more helpful.

wondered how appeal/waiitlist option number 2

new free school city centre 30places.

theres basically 5categories

sibling-only openedn last year 1 sibling
kids in care
kids medical needs-na to mine
kids of staff
then category 5random allocation.

so 210applicants all sorted into categories
then everybody has a number so if we 32 could be good although cant see anyone turning down place there.

if we 200 then guess no chance but least I know.

Thres another samll faith school city centre-1space which she explained that 1 space due reffrelas could mean someone has higher priority than me for that vacancy which is better explained than other lea did.

The 2nearest schools near mt eldests chool are both academys and hugely undersubscribed.

1 has 21 vacancies/90places
other has 20applications for 60 spaces so 40places

should that worry me?

I looked round it and was impressed what space they had last year they had 2 classes 15 with 2 reception teachers, 3tas and uge amunt outdoor space and classrooms would that be better education than say school offred slighly better area with 2classes 30 so 60kids?

as most local would think im mad turrning down school 4 for city primary academy as genrally schools failing hence why acedemy.

The schol with 21spaces has a nursery class attached and i have a 3year old boy whos due start next year.

the other academy has separate nursery within the grounds

so both would maybe be good option still struggle with drops offs pickups

I have no idea where on waitlist i am with schools failed to get,

what furthest distance was

how many siblings

i dont think error was made

what grouds to apeal on ics or nset capacity and proving one more non preducical due to pan 20.

would school secrtary be able tell me how many per year group?

as dd1s class under by 2, r is currently 20 and year 1/2 class is less than 30 as goes

20-r
20 yr 1-10youngest year 2s
20years 3s with 10oldest years 2s
20 years 4 with 10youngest year 5s
then 20year 6s and 10 year 5s

thats capacity not actual amount over 5 clases in total

only class 1, 2 and 3 be subject to infant class ruling.

also everyone local ceebrating they all got 1st choice some really had to get into schools too and schools taking wider distance this year i seem be only one know who dident get any of my choices.

But feel better than did last night and this morning i have more choices im ready for the fight.

bristol ea said if get letter can ammend choice 1 and 2 and keep place offered as 3rd choice so wont lose the offer my lea has given me and still be wait lists for original 3 does that sound correct?

I can chase the 2 schools that have 1 space or easily get place at 1/2 academys.

tethersend · 16/04/2014 15:48

Where I live, you accepted an offer last year by bringing supporting documents into the school you are allocated; there was no button or form with which to accept the offer.

hiccupgirl · 16/04/2014 15:53

Where I am you don't have to do anything to accept the offer. They assume you have accepted it unless you contact them to say you are declining it and want to be considered for other schools.

Kveta · 16/04/2014 16:02

I'm in Herts, and they said no emails until after 6pm, but just got mine, and DS got his (our!) 1st choice! So ludicrously relieved! Now just to wait for the online system to be working so I can confirm the place!

DownstairsMixUp · 16/04/2014 16:11

Anyone that's in Kent the replies have been sent

DS got into his first choice :D

Lovethesea · 16/04/2014 16:17

Norfolks are online now. DS has a place at the village school with DD. Relieved.

HopefulHamster · 16/04/2014 16:20

Just got our second choice in Herts. But I was dithering between first and second choice, and second is closer. So I don't mind... probably...

SmileAndNod · 16/04/2014 16:21

Why can't my county keep up with others and inform by email

Stokey · 16/04/2014 16:22

Anyone in London heard?

racmun · 16/04/2014 16:22

Does anyone in surrey know yet? Still no email!
