Yes, i have no life! And we are lucky in that all the schools near us seem pretty good, but I'm still itching to know if we got our first choice. nerdy.

I really don't want my DS going to the school he was allocated, but I won't make any decision today about refusing the place (as I'm not very calm).

I will try to go there tomorrow - it will probably be impossible to talk to anyone over the phone anyway.

I've calmed down a bit. I'm still angry, but less panicky...

Thanks everyone for the help.

Good luck for those who haven't got the results, or who will appeal.

For everyone who got their first choices, enjoy the fact you don't have to worry about schools for the next few months! :)

MacademiaNut · 16/04/2014 17:59

Ok so we got 4th choice... It's not a disaster, but it's well, our 4th choice!

Roll on the waiting list hysteria...

Best of luck to those waiting. We're in London and logged on prior to email.

Rumplestiltskinismyname · 16/04/2014 18:00

EAdmissions here too (Surrey).. and confirmed our place too! Phew- first choice. Good luck to all those waiting.

LIZS · 16/04/2014 18:05

DS will be heartbroken. Please try not to project your disappointment onto your dc. You don't know where he will end up atm and maybe he would know someone else going there .

Sirzy · 16/04/2014 18:18

Lancashires webiste has crashed. Should have been up at 6 and nobody can get on

MummyPigsFatTummy · 16/04/2014 18:30

Hmm seems we have to wait for the letterto accept. CCan't do it online even though we are in London. Very odd.

shroedingersdodo · 16/04/2014 18:33

LIZS, DS visited some of the schools with DH and I. I explained to him that we couldn't be sure if he would get a place in any of them. I repeated that several times. But he has been telling everyone he meets that "when he is 4, he is going to X school" (X school is the first option, the only one we had a tiny chance of getting a place because our house was in last year's catchment).

Yesterday he told everyone in the waiting room at the GP surgery that he is going to X school in September. (I immediately said that we didn't know that yet)

I think it is clear that he WILL be disappointed, isn't it?

Dancergirl · 16/04/2014 18:44

Sad shroed

All very well for people to say don't project your disappointment onto your child Hmm

It's a long way to go until September. There will be a LOT of movement on waiting lists. As soon as you can find out where you are on the list.

kateemo · 16/04/2014 18:46

Thanks for the tip to log in to eAdmissions. First choice. Amen. Still no email from my borough!!!!

YoHoHoandabottleofWine · 16/04/2014 19:14

Third choice (only 3 choices here, put on list to avoid an equally poor school other side of town).

Really not happy about it. I do feel sorry for the teachers at these schools moaning about how upset we are about being allocated their schools. But it's not where I want my children to go.

Will go on the waiting list for our first choice, but I wanted to be able to plan the future, plan the childcare, put in application to change working days slightly etc. And I will have to watch all the parents walk past our house to go to the school we wanted (which is 1 min walk from our house) Sad

carrieindex · 16/04/2014 19:34

Yoho sorry to hear that. I also feel like I can't plan. I am going on the waiting list too. Another two weeks til even a vague hope of any movement. DH annoyed at me for going on about it too

Springcleandone · 16/04/2014 19:53

Still no news herts Easter Confused. Anyone else in Hertfordshire on here? Do you know what happening?

Springcleandone · 16/04/2014 19:54

Wot? Sorry about the typos Easter Wink.

Kveta · 16/04/2014 20:17

i'm in herts, got an email earlier. have you tried the online system? www.hertsdirect.org/actweb/education/Admissions/startpage.cfm

EasterSmegs · 16/04/2014 20:20

Got first choice. Phew!

Email arrived at 5:15. Not bad after all.

MamaDoGood · 16/04/2014 20:51

Completely gutted.
Applied for 6 schools, didn't get any of them. Got accepted for a really terrible school.
So so upset.

carrieindex · 16/04/2014 20:53

Sorry to hear that mama Sad that is rubbish.

Lesleythegiraffe · 16/04/2014 20:59

SO glad that this doesn't happen in our area.

Everyone just goes to their local school, so I guess we're lucky that they are all good.

BewitchedBefuzzledBewildered · 16/04/2014 21:52

...and breathe.
We got into our 2nd choice. We had zilch chance with our 1st choice as that was a 1 form entry, and 2 years ago there was a bulge class, so 60 kids worth of siblings coming through on a year when there are 30 places
Confused
Really delighted with our 2nd choice, it was more like a joint 1st choice anyways. Hammersmith here...

fidelineish · 16/04/2014 21:56

Hi, haven't RTFT. Just popping onto relevant threads to recommend the charity [http://www.ace-ed.org.uk/ ACE]] to anyone needing advice on admissions Smile

coraltoes · 16/04/2014 21:57

Bewitched I was schooled in hammersmith, it was competitive 27 years ago, dread to think what it is like now. does Larmenier/Sacred heart juniors still exist??

fidelineish · 16/04/2014 21:57

That should be ACE

dillite · 16/04/2014 22:21

Got a place at a special measures school. At least it's not too far from us.

BewitchedBefuzzledBewildered · 16/04/2014 22:25

Coraltoes: Larmenier / Sacred Heart definitely still exists, but you have to be best mates with the Pope to go. We went for the non religious option Grin

coraltoes · 17/04/2014 08:39

haha yes we only had to befriend a few priests - cant imagine what it is like now!! My bit of London is veyr Pray or Pay... i've gone for the latter!
