Yes, i have no life! And we are lucky in that all the schools near us seem pretty good, but I'm still itching to know if we got our first choice. nerdy.

God, it's nerve wracking. Confused

I might move very far away too.

zgaze · 14/04/2014 23:25

It's certainly one (rather expensive) way of taking the stress out of the situation :) Somehow making a late application elsewhere isn't nearly so nerve wracking as waiting for this letter would be.

SouthernComforts · 14/04/2014 23:34

Checking in!

I'm very lucky to have 3 good schools to 'choose' from. I've put down all 3 but now I really want dd to get into the 2nd school I put down!

SauceForTheGander · 14/04/2014 23:36

Checking in. I only want our over subscribed first choice. I'm feeling very sick about it all.

MummyPigsFatTummy · 14/04/2014 23:51

Also feeling sick. Really really want first choice but only one form entry and a big year of siblings could do for us completely. I think our emails come after 5pm on Wednesday. It is going to be torture waiting all day.

3asAbird · 15/04/2014 00:49

well hopefully this time tommorowI know. as everyones thinking midnight locally and getting twitchy,

Freind did seem think smaller year intake last year sibling stupidly high and not many have siblings 1 school year apart.

Papers are saying record number of applicants so maybe there is regional variations, school black spots and some areas especially urban like london, bristol manchester under more pressures with places.

They really are building so few new schools here and keep building yet more houses very few schools locally have increased their intake 1 school did duble intake 2year ad now siblings be screwed as going back down to 30 so will be lots who dont get in

I keep thinking lea must have plan as see s many kids locally. have to go though all this again next year with youngest,.

my only hope is if middle child dont get eldests school she gets good one that gives sibling link.

hotcrosshunny · 15/04/2014 07:30

Midnight?

Although would rather know sooner than later. I'm not sure why I feel so tense - actually I do - I'm sure it will work out fine??

Monkeyandanimal · 15/04/2014 07:36

I stupidly put down 'Letter' as my preferred means of communication; I think i wanted something concrete in my hand that i could wave about if there were any computer-related cock-ups....but i hope I will also get an email tomorrow as well, as I did apply online....stoopid me!

MummyPigsFatTummy · 15/04/2014 08:27

I think you will if you applied online. Certainly that is how our LEA works. Can't believe we have to wait until tomorrow night. The suspense is killing me. It is not like I even want DD to go to school but I just want to know where she is going and then for time to slow down. I work 4 days and will really miss our Fridays together, but I know she is very ready for it.

SauceForTheGander · 15/04/2014 08:33

Midnight tonight? Eek!

Nagasaki · 15/04/2014 08:35

You lucky things finding out this week! In NI, we get a letter after the 30 April. Bloody long wait. Angry

SmileAndNod · 15/04/2014 08:42

We get a letter posted tomorrow, so probably get it Thursday or Friday. Very nervous here as not sure dc2 will get a place at same school as dc1. How I'm meant to be in two places at the same time is beyond me Sad.

Vajazzler · 15/04/2014 08:42

I'm waiting for the email too but I'm quietly confident thanks to ds being a sibling. I've got 5dc's at the same school but I still get the panicky feeling that somehow they won't get allocated a place!

tiggy thank you

Do LAs across the country broadly behave in the same way?

iamusuallybeingunreasonable · 15/04/2014 08:56

Also scared, London here and hoping to god we get one of the six we listed and not the closest terrible local one Hmm

SauceForTheGander · 15/04/2014 08:56

Midnight tonight or tomorrow night? I'm a bit confused! Blush

Thank you both Flowers

SmileAndNod · 15/04/2014 10:05

tiggy me too. Dreading breaking the news to her if she's allocated a place elsewhere. Don't really have a plan b. Other than HE her, or try and move the elder one to the y2 class of her allocated school (which I don't want for him as he's settled, and I'm pretty sure the school wouldn't want him to leave either) i think we're stuffed.

Btw, to those worrying about not getting their first choice, two years ago, dc1 was allocated our third (last) choice. it's actually a fab school and dc1 very happy there and doing well - hence reluctance to move him for year 2.

Good luck to all waiting Smile

LocalEditorWandsworth · 15/04/2014 10:08

Council here (Wandsworth) is posting out letters tomorrow but if you applied online you can apparently see where you got on the online system tomorrow 'evening'. Wish they could give a specific time instead - frantic clicking will be going on here every 5 minutes from about 4pm Confused

We have to wait for the email after 4pm - or we can log into the website after 5pm.

DD was coughing at 4am this morning, woke me up and couldn't get back to sleep for thinking about it.

Hoping for either 1st or 2nd choice. But both highly oversubscribed CofE and RC schools with 30 intake. No idea how many siblings. Scared!

SauceForTheGander · 15/04/2014 10:20

I keep frantically checking this thread as have no where else to go!
