Yes, i have no life! And we are lucky in that all the schools near us seem pretty good, but I'm still itching to know if we got our first choice. nerdy.

You will be sent an email giving you the outcome of your application during the evening of 16 April 2014. You will also be able to log on to your application to view the outcome during the evening of 16 April 2014 and you will be able to accept or decline the offer online. If you applied online but have not been offered your first preference school you will also be sent a letter by first class post on 16 April 2014 which will give more information regarding the decision and what you might do next.

^^From the eadmin site which I think covers "The 33 London Authorities and Surrey County Council"

ISpyPlumPie · 15/04/2014 17:06

I'm another one who's much mire nervous than I thought I'd be. We should be ok based on Church attendance but don't want to take anything for granted. Pretty sure I saw that the online admission site will be updated with offers at midnight in our area so will be staying up to check. Otherwise I suppose it'll be a day of trying not to check my emails every five mins - am actually now quite grateful that I've got a stupidly busy day at work tomorrow!

Good luck everyone.

Rumplestiltskinismyname · 15/04/2014 17:10

Patricia- I don't remember friends talking about 'accepting' their offers online in the past- this is all new to me... Do I have to go online and accept the place even if it's my first choice?

shroedingersdodo · 15/04/2014 17:23

Early evening?????????????? I was hoping to find out today at midnight... I should have read it properly.

It will be a long day tomorrow... (SE London as well. Our flat is not in any catchment area)

hotcrosshunny · 15/04/2014 17:46

Early evening is too vague Angry

Cocoaone · 15/04/2014 18:47

I think the time frames are mostly either midnight tonight or around 4/5pm - so I'd start checking at 4pm if they've said 'evening'

So nerve racking!

PookBob · 15/04/2014 18:56

LocalEditorCambridge - thank you!

I'm surprised to be the only person who has received their email. Obviously someone at Bury Council wanted to finish early today :)

ratqueen · 15/04/2014 19:07

Eek at possibly midnight. I am on a course all day tomorrow with no way of accessing emails so I can't just spend the day refreshing hotmail if I don't find out before work. I don't think I will be my first choice which is actually my second choice! But I just want to know. I am going to stay up til midnight just in case, of course!

Can't believe my baby is going to school and that we are going to have to do homework

CeruleanStars · 15/04/2014 20:10

I'm waiting up until midnight too, my DC wants to as well - we're waiting for a middle school place allocation.

CeruleanStars · 15/04/2014 20:13

Ours just says we will get an email on the 16th and will be able to log on on the 16th, no mention of any time. I think the only certainty will be that lots of the admissions websites will crash....

Rumplestiltskinismyname · 15/04/2014 20:18

My DH has concluded that ours will be after 5pm as that way the admissions officers will have 1 more evening/night of peace before the agitated/frustrated/disgruntled phonecalls start!!

3asAbird · 15/04/2014 20:21

just logged into my lea website says closing date admissions was 15th jan midnight so guess by very logic will be either midight 16th if lucky or some time tommorow apparently was mid morning last year so still none wiser. have wine in fridge and staying up late doubt get much sleep tonight be like election night all over again.

Maybe bbc should have john snow doing school allocations special yes this area in red is shafted and no one got their choices.

Im trying to expect nothing so wont be dissapointed but plan b not ideal means he or sink school.

CeruleanStars · 15/04/2014 20:22

Two choices here:

  1. Had a terrible OFSTED inspection with the results published two weeks before the closing date
  1. Lovely school with excellent OFSTED but not historically as popular as 1.
QueenieCat · 15/04/2014 20:27

'Around midday' tomorrow in my LA...

WhispersOfWickedness · 15/04/2014 20:47

Another one waiting here, good luck everyone! Shouldn't be a problem for us, we live rurally and the three closest are all good schools and all undersubscribed, but I'm still feeling stressed!

WhispersOfWickedness · 15/04/2014 20:51

Argh, didn't finish that post!
Got an email the other day reminding us to check the LA website to find out, they say it will be busiest between 6am and 9am, so going to wait until after 9 as there is no way I'll be up before 6 to check! Or wait up until midnight.
The email did also say that 93% of applicants in this LA have got their first choice, so that is reassuring as well Smile

whatcolour · 15/04/2014 20:59

I love the idea of schools allocation special ... Hysterical. Am nervous wreck

3asAbird · 15/04/2014 21:32

I have just rang dominoes order pizza cheer me up and cracking open 2nd can beer logged into system 3times tonight just sure it works and no change, lady on local fb said council said midnight but cant see where explicitly says that.

It should be less stressful with no2 in way its worse as 2school scenario and dd2 upset as cant go same school as sister and her preschool mates.

i did read cant contact council for a month until offers accepted.

I do need update address as we moved.

find out whos underscubscribed

how add myself waitlists

but they be off fri-monday so only wed/thur phone them and actual schools not back next week and will have wait until people accepted declined offers to have better idea whats realistic.

nikki1391 · 15/04/2014 21:38

im another in SE London. im very nervous! I would only be happy with one of my top 3 choices. the other 3 choices are back ups and not ideal distance wise but I put them down as id prefer them over being allocated one by the council if we didn't get one of our top 3. fingers crossed we are all happy with the schools we get. i'll be at my computer at 5 on the dot tomorrow!!

blueberryboybait · 15/04/2014 21:40

Wiltshire post out letters tomorrow so Saturday if we are lucky.

Cucumberscarecrow · 15/04/2014 21:52

I'm in Brighton and the official line is that we get emails in the afternoon but they said the same for the secondary school places this year and most people got their emails during the course of the morning. I'll be glued to my phone from daybreak tomorrow.

Good luck everyone!

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 15/04/2014 22:15

Right, I'm off to bed, good luck all you who get your emails from midnight :) hope you all get the schools you want!

MadeForTVMovie · 15/04/2014 22:29

Is anyone else drinking?

I've just had a large glass of wine and now i'm on the baileys. Please let me get the result at midnight, I just need to know now. So bloody nervous.

allyfe · 15/04/2014 22:36

I'm waiting to hear about a free school, in their first year, so not through the LEA system. I have no idea when we will hear! I hope it is by email tomorrow, but it could be by post after. I'm scared that we will get an offer (it is a big risk) and that we won't (it could be an AMAZING opportunity).

MakeTeaNotWar · 15/04/2014 22:38

cucumber I'm in Brighton too, what schools you hoping for? We've put Westdene first
