gosh its all so different.

my neigbouring lea less half mile from me seems to publish lot more info than my lea on last 2 years admissions.

I looked up the 2 schools in that lea near to my house.

both massivly oversubscribed 1 catholic which means no chance an other infant school has 3 times 1st preferences than pan admissions number,

Eve the one thats hell hole in high street that has really bad rep now acdemy is oversubscribed in fact most citys schools have double -3times applications for places some crazy 300 1st preference for 30-60places . not many schools seems offer 90 or 120 reception places.

Im aware i been very choosy as made mistake with eldests school and moved her.

Dreading doing 2 separate school runs in opposite directions and possibly 1 school never chose.

Think in city people pleased to get any school as demand places so high if near house bonus the amount people who fail get into their local schools.

Im now thinking he never looked so appealing or how far would i reasonably travel to find a good school that I like.

My only hope if dot get anything is sit and wait and join several wait lists guess urban areas have more movement.

Good luck everyone i intend log in midnight, 6am, 9am and throughout day until get result.

I keep frantically checking this thread as have no where else to go!

Me too!!!

MadeForTVMovie · 15/04/2014 12:44

Checking in.

I feel sick. Heart is absolutely set on our Church school, but they only have a one form intake and siblings (quite rightly) take priority. I've not lived in the area and worshipped at the Church as long as some others probably have (Been there for 2 years)

I wonder if they take Church involvment into consideration? I'm actively involved, so this would go in my favour.

My 2nd choice got downgraded by Ofsted in December...

Please God let me get my first choice!

When I log into my application it tells me that my result will be published there at 00.00.00 on 16.04.14, I would hope that means midnight tonight?

I' afraid it is highly unlikely they take the level of involvement into consideration. A number of schools have got into trouble with the Schools Adjudicator for trying something like that. The simple way to find out is check the admission criteria. If they only talk about church attendance that is all they will look at. They cannot take into account any factor other than those covered by their admission criteria.

Weirdly someone on FB has just posted this link, saying bedford school places released on 30th apr?

Trazzletoes · 15/04/2014 13:23

I'm waiting too. Lots of very good schools in our area but all generally over-subscribed. DS would have got in to our local one last year but only by a matter of metres. We would not have got in to any other local schools on distance.

I was hoping he would have a statement but it's dragged on and on and the LA seems to think he just needs additional funding rather than a statement anyway, but that's a whole nother thread.

I was totally chilled out about it all but now I'm a ball of nerves.

hazeyjane · 15/04/2014 13:26

More of a bundle of nerves about the statement, tbh. Probably won't hear until just before Summer holidays and won't get place without it - nightmare.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 15/04/2014 13:39

Derbyshire County Council have been extremely helpful and told us it will be at 9.30 am, so I can go to bed without worrying I will miss it!!

here

PookBob · 15/04/2014 13:44

I got my email this morning, about half ten. Bury Council. Thankfully it was good news.

I actually cried with relief after a very stressful couple of months after pulling my DS out of our local school nursery for various reasons.

Good luck to everyone.

Gloucestershire say on their website that emails will be sent after 9 am tomorrow, and letters sent tomorrow. So another one who won't be checking my emails every time my youngest wakes in the night!

MakeTeaNotWar · 15/04/2014 13:55

tiggy you are right, that link says the 16th but another page says the 19th which is it arrgh?

If you apply online and give a valid email address, you will receive your decision by email the afternoon of 19 April 2013. Depending on your settings, you may find that this email is identified as 'spam'. You will not receive a letter in the post unless you specifically request one.

PookBob Good news - Smile

Yes - it is the longest day ever. I'm off to do the shopping and kill some time.

Rumplestiltskinismyname · 15/04/2014 14:52

Ours says evening of the 16th- so think that means post 5pm, but apparently last year they also said 'evening' and that ended up being near on 10pm!! We're in Surrey. Painfully, we are at a child's party tomorrow afternoon, so we will all be stewing on it together!!

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 15/04/2014 16:04

Yes today is dragging on. All I can think about is getting this email, I'm checking my inbox just incase it arrives early...silly I know.
I really don't have a plan B if it's bad news (lots of village schools around us but no way I can get dd there due to my working hours) and desperately want her to go to the school in our village. They only plan to take 17 this year, last year they took 20 but I'm sure that doesn't mean they can do it again.
Hoping we all get good news.
